Thank you Promedica for looking after my mother so fantastically for 4.5 years.
Promedica24 were recommended by a local arty friend. A disabled lady local to her had checked herself out of a home to continue to live in her own home independently with Promedica24, and by the summer 2021 had used this agency for around 6 years quite successfully. I am still of working age, an only child, and in 2021, my youngest daughter was at Uni for another two years.
At the height of the pandemic restrictions, my mother had a fall one evening and fractured the ball of her hip joint. She was successfully operated on under epidural at 102 years old! However, I would not let her return home from respite care, without some form of live-in care. Mark & Gillian made the whole process of setting up this care reassuring, and mother could not move home
until a care package was in place. The first carer we had was a most remarkable lady - Joanna. I always say she was the one-in-a-million carer - I learnt so much from her over her visits. For the first five days of so, there was a kind of "stand-off" from my mother at having someone else living in her bungalow! I somewhat left the two of them "settle down", and sure enough after about five days, Joanna had settled her into a routine. Not only a household assistant, at appropriate junctures of the day, Joanna was a true companion, sitting down with my mother at the dining room table with the view, and giggling together at mealtimes. She engaged my mother in little tasks, like making her sandwich & salad lunch, and doing the drying up afterwards.
Joanna had the courage to take my mother out to the town centre, wheeling her also to the beach - letting my mother walk barefoot in the sand. Such important small, treasured experiences that one still needs to feel at the latter stages of one's life. All three of us had the most exciting outings together: day trips to the Isle of Wight, (mother was enthralled by the ferry journeys); visiting our village fete & house; detour to mother's old hospital in Leatherhead where she worked during the war; Cezanne (mother's favourite artist) exhibition at the Tate Modern in London; other local art exhibitions.
Our other notable carer was Kasia - the Queen of Cake Baking! She wonderfully produced birthday cakes for mother's 104th, 105th, 106th and 107th birthday parties, each one more spectacular than the last. She produced some wonderful home-made soups most lunchtimes, sweet treats for the occasional visitors and mother's grateful gardeners. In my mother's final days (when speech was lost), she tended to her with such warmth & dedication that made my mother's eyes "smile" so thankfully. There was only one young carer of whom I lost confidence in her ability to cope with my mother's care.
Over the 4.5 years that mother was under the care of Promedica24, we were allocated only 3 main carers. They kept her bungalow spotless & tidy - a really "house-proud" crowd! During mother’s last year, there were several new carers which, (along with my mother's behaviour), was a challenge at times to all parties. Lorraine was fantastic with her guidance & suggestions. Listen to her, when she says, "You really need to receive this / that from the GP". We are often too polite & not firm enough on these occasions. All mother's carers were, (apart from two), were mothers themselves which makes a huge difference - they have the maturity to give the appropriate care at the right times.
Thank you to Promedica24 in enabling my mother to joyfully end her days in her own home.

They have Supportive management .Company cares for the wellbeing of their workers. The working conditions meet work life balance .They try their best to match client and carer and their communication channels are open and efficient .Staff do not feel alone I am happy to work for Promedica24 .They value their employees.I work with clarity and if I need assistance I am signposted to the right department. If you face challenges ,the company has a lifeline for all carers which is available 24/7.I recommend this company to anyone who wants to work with peace of mind .It has a highly organised and coordinated network of assistance for cares .The customers are at the centre of their system .
A life well lived and in his own home until the end
My father was able to stay in his own home until a few days before he died of a stroke in hospital. This allowed me to keep a long standing promise to my late Mum and to him that he would never go into a home. He was blind, had FTD (a form of dementia) and complex issues with low BP collapses. He had fantastic care from 2 live in carers in the end who looked after him 'as if he was their father'. I live 100 mile away and was able to trust that he was in good hands. Don't forget also that care at home protects the house which would normally be sold to fund care in a home. As a retired GP I have seen many example of poor care sadly but I cannot recommend this model of care or this company enough. Thank you for almost 4 years of peace of mind.
Care provision at short notice
After being cared for full time by his wife, our friend, D, was suddenly widowed and left needing full-time, live-in care. We filled the gap ourselves for as long as we could but immediately began a search for a live-in care package. Following a recommendation from another care company, we were directed to ProMedica24, Poole, and a phone call with director Mark quickly followed. Mark immediately picked up on our need for speed, and we had the initial assessment the next day, quickly followed by a visit from care supervisor Lorraine. From the word go both Mark and Lorraine showed understanding of the situation but also sympathy and sensitivity . In their follow-up phone-calls and emails they were good enough to ask after our own well-being as well as that of our friend, and were professional and supportive as we worked our way through the multitude of administrative emails, phone calls, appointments, funeral preparations etc that have to take place as such times. Within a week of our first phone-call to ProMedica24 they had found a carer who met our requirements for D's needs, and provided us with lots of support in navigating the early stages of setting everything up and moving the carer in. The follow-up in the early weeks of care has also been excellent, and D has adjusted well to having someone else caring for him (no mean feat after over 70 years of marriage). We have never felt pressurized into making any decisions but the 'we are only a phone-call away' approach from the Poole ProMedica24 team has felt genuine and our questions have all been answered patiently and professionally. We are so grateful for the help and care that both we, and D have received in the difficult days so soon after our bereavement and we would certainly recommend ProMedica24.

I work as a Live-in carer with Promedica24 supporting elderly clients in their own home for 2 years now. Promedica24 was clear about expectations from day one and provided through training on manual handling and safeguarding. What i appreciate most is how the coordination team check up on you regularly and always quick to respond when you call or needed advice. I will recommend Promedica24 to every carer looking for a Live-in care job.
A promising start
I was looking for 24hour care for my Mum. Gary responded really quickly and Katrina completed a home visit within four days to assess. Katrina was professional and demonstrated a good understanding and knowledge of the needs and situation that we found ourselves in. A carer was arranged to start within seven days. Unfortunately our circumstances changed and we were unable to meet the carer.
Overall the process was kind, professional and speedy, which was necessary.

Been working with Promedica24 since 2024 and I can truly say it is one of the best companies I have worked for. Very accommodating and helpful. It is a pleasure working with them. The managers ring me regularly to see how I am getting on aswel as the managers coming to visit me every so often.

Lacks the most fundamental thing required for live-in care
You don't get a choice of carer, so you can end up getting a carer with a personality clash. Having a carer that you get along with is fundamental as they're staying in your home.
I've noticed quite a few 4 and 5 start reviews popping up for Promedica24, however these are coming from employees rather than service users. Bear that in mind when choosing them.
Offered professional support at the right time
Promedica 24 enabled our friend with Dementia to stay in his home for just over 2 months before he had to go into a Specialised Dementia Care Home. His 24 hours live in carers changed after 6 weeks and both Marius Paul and Colen provided him with companionship (taking him out for 2 hour daily walks) as well as taking care of his personal care, cooking, and cleaning.
Special mention needs to be given to Colen who was a breath of fresh air, offering exceptional care. He always had a smile on his face and kept the house spotless. He built up an excellent relationship with our friend and despite our friends’ lack of communication (non-verbal) Colen was able to anticipate all his needs. He also helped us prepare for our friend’s move to the Specialist Dementia Care Home.
From start to finish Gary and Katrina the Care Manager responded quickly and professionally to our issues and were extremely helpful and sympathetic to us throughout this difficult time. Thank you.

I’ve had a positive experience working with Promedica24. They have been very good at providing consistent care packages and overall support. The team are approachable, helpful, and supportive throughout placements, and they take issues like bullying seriously, with clear procedures in place. I’ve always felt supported, and the emergency line is reliable and always available when needed.
The only downside I’ve experienced is that when arranging travel myself, reimbursement can take quite a long time, which can be frustrating. Aside from this, the company has been supportive and communicative, and I’ve generally felt well looked after as a carer.

4 years ago I had the chance and pleasure to join the PM24 team and I believe it was a wise demisionat. PM24 is an excellent company with professionals who are there for clients and employees.
