When our mother was diagnosed with cancer, we faced uncertainty about the level of care she would require. Given that my brother works full time and I live abroad, we decided to enlist the support of Promedica24. Fortunately, my mother has, thus far, only required relatively light assistance, after five months of support she has returned to living independently.

During a period when she had a live-in caregiver, my mother fell seriously ill, and the caregiver provided attentive care until her full recovery. The onboarding process with Promedica24 was highly professional and thorough, and our communication with Mark, Lorraine and the team was excellent.

With Promedica24, our family finds reassurance in knowing that if my mother ever requires full-time care, it is just one phone call away.

Promedica24 have cared for our mother, now in her nineties, in her own home for the past three years. It has been a lifeline for our mum, who has dementia, enabling her to have the very best care and stay in familiar surroundings. We are so grateful for the amazing service we have had from carers such as Mirela, Danuta and Kasia, who have all been outstanding, and so incredibly patient and kind. They became almost a part of our family. They always anticipated our mother's needs and preferences, and also cooked delicious and healthy meals for her, read and sang with her, and took her for daily walks when she was still mobile. Alas her mobility has now declined so that she needs the facilities of a care home, but the years with ProMedica have been a peaceful and happy chapter in her later life. Gary and Katrina on the management side were always helpful and sympathetic when we had any questions or needed advice. We would not hesitate to recommend this company.

Promedica24 provided us with a carer to look after my father towards the end of his terminal cancer. The carer was genuinely so kind and concerned for Dad and she definitely made the end of his life more bearable. Dad and the carer became good friends and the atmosphere in our house was significantly lifted even though it was a very hard time for everyone.
We didn’t have any experience with 24 hour care and Dad was particularly apprehensive at first, but the level of care he required was rapidly increasing and we were determined to keep him in his home as long as possible. Promedica24 helped us understand the procedure, expectations, requirements, etc from the very beginning and we felt confident in our decision after the first meeting.
As a family, we strongly believe that Dad’s carer came to us at our darkest time and helped all of us in her own way.
We were devastated when we lost Dad, but we take great comfort in knowing we made the right decision for him regarding care.
In a situation like ours, I would strongly recommend 24 hour care through Promedica24.

The care, support and professionalism I’ve received from Promedica24 has been exemplary and I would have no hesitation in recommending John, Sam and the team. I was particularly blessed with my carer Agnes who fitted in splendidly and whose kindness and attention to detail in following the clinicians instructions was superb.

We cannot thank Promedica enough. We worked very hard to keep my mother with MND at home until the end of her life. A previous care company had also tried extremely hard to meet mums needs, but within 18 months we had been through 33 live in carers (2:1 package), and this had been distressing and frustrating for everyone involved. Promedica helped us put together a very bespoke 3:1 live in care package which enabled us to support mum successfully at home to the end of her life, and we can’t thank the wonderful and very professional Ruth and Josephine in particular enough. Our very sIncere thanks also goes to Nassim, Marie, and Portia without whom the package would not have been possible. Katrina and Gary were both absolutely key to ensuring the package we built was robust enough to support mum and the complexities of her care. A huge thank you to everyone - the support provided by Promedica has been excellent.

Gary at Promedica was helpful and speedy in finding a carer for my mum who has Vascular Dementia, whilst we awaited a vacancy in a local Lancashire care home. Hope, the carer was a real delight, she was very capable, caring, big hearted and efficient. In addition she’s a great cook! My mum has now gone into a care home, and I know we will all miss Hope!

Tony 72 year old male suffers with a rarer type of dementia (Picks dementia).
It can be difficult to care for Tony at times because Tony is prone to shouting and not cooperating.
We the family found it difficult to find suitable care for Tony.
After talking with Gary Derbyshire (Gary runs the North West division) and the Promedica team we found Priscilla . Priscilla is excellent in looking after Tony and formed a great and trusting relationship.
We realise that it takes time to get the right person to look after someone with difficult care needs .
We thank Gary, Katrina and the team for finding a excellent caring in Priscilla.

Some may have had a good experience with Promedica 24 - me and my family didn't. We had to take care more of the carer than my mother who we had organised the care for as they weren't really up to the job (fed this back).
Charged for the carer whilst they were not in the home for 3 weeks after being told I would only pay for the period of care. When I complained this was handled poorly and I was referred to the contract without consideration of goodwill or all the pressure involved in caring for someone.
I am a carer and work in healthcare and in hindsight I encourage you to contact the social care dept at your local council as they will have providers they work with and may be able to advise you further.

I'd like to thank you so much. It was a relief to know that my father will be supported over the festive while I needed to go back to NL and the other agencies are short with staff.
Whole process since signing the contract till having carer in home was quick, efficient and reassuring. Promedica knows what to do, no doubts.

We have been using Promedica for live in care for my father since April, and the third carer, Bartek, is absolutely outstanding. He uses great intelligence and thoughtfulness in looking after my father, who has dementia and is not always an easy person. Besides his daily care, the highlight has been when Bart found my father in a confused state one morning, and immediately called emergency services, stressing the urgency of the situation. Dad was rushed to hospital and had suffered a stroke. It is without question Bart’s prompt action which probably saved my father’s life, and we are extremely grateful to him.

The Promedica team supported our mum for over 12 months. Me and my brother were looking for right care for a long time and we feel very lucky that we found promedica. From the very beginning everything was clearly explained to us and friendly care manager assessed needs of our mum, who was 87 at that time. All the Carers that were taking care of her and supporting us were lovely, they were supportive, caring and always there. Thank you!

My partner and I decided to engage Promedica24 to provide Live-in care for my Mum in October 2018 on the recommendation of a good friend who had been using their services for her Father for some time.

Mum had always told us that she wanted to continue to live in her home for as long as possible so our decision to move to Live-in care for Mum seemed the best option when, due to her memory-related dementia, she started to become increasingly anxious between her four daily pop-in care visits. She worried that she had been abandoned and that no one would come back to see her. I was working overseas at this time and, although I spoke to Mum several times each day and visited her every fortnight, the reassurance of knowing an experienced and empathetic care worker was with her day and night would prove to be a tremendous relief to us all.

Once the contract was set up, Promedica24 were soon able to identify the most appropriate and experienced carers for Mum’s needs and, for the almost four years they provided care for Mum, we were fortunate to have four marvellous care workers who returned multiple times for repeat contracts. The continuity of familiar faces provided invaluable reassurance for Mum and allowed us all to build excellent, collaborative relationships.

Throughout the time we worked with Promedica24 we found their management team to be extremely professional, approachable and responsive. They invest in the ongoing training of their Care Workers and work hard to find the most suitable Care Workers for their clients. If problems arise, as they did for us on a couple of occasions over the four years of working together, there is a clear escalation process that enables the situation to be resolved as quickly as possible.

Having Live-in care provided me with the additional benefit that I was able continue to see Mum every week throughout the whole COVID pandemic. Several friends of mine whose parents were in Care Homes could not visit them at all for well over a year and really noticed the huge detrimental impact this had on the emotional well being of their loved ones over this time. So that provided extra reinforcement, if we needed it, of our original decision to go down the Live-in care route.

But perhaps the biggest reinforcement of our decision to use Live-in care came at the end of Mum’s life this summer when, due to a sudden deterioration in her condition, she had to be moved into a local Care Home for a period emergency respite care. This was intended to be a short-term solution to allow for additional care and equipment to be arranged to allow her to return home. While the Care Home staff were very supportive it was extremely clear to us that the level of care able to be provided by a dedicated live-in carer for a client suffering from dementia is far superior to that provided by Care Home workers who are inevitably more stretched having to support and care for multiple residents. Sadly Mum’s condition continued to deteriorate rapidly and she passed away just three weeks later before she had chance to return home.

During this last difficult phase of Mum’s life, Promedica24, continued to provide much-needed support and flexibility for which we are extremely grateful.

I have no doubt that the quality of care provided by Promedica24 Live-in Care Workers enhanced Mum’s quality of life considerably over her last four years and, of course, it allowed her to continue to live in her own familiar and comforting surroundings for as long as practically possible. I would have no hesitation in recommending live-in care as an option or Promedica24 as an excellent provider of these services.

If it were possible to give negative stars I would. Horrific, appalling experience. Provided an untrained, inexperienced and deceitful carer to look after our 92 year old mum. In short, the carer (?) gave incorrect meds which resulted in multiple falls that were not reported - she never recovered and consequently passed away. Wiltshire Council MASH investigated and involved CQC. Excuse after excuse from Promedica, an apology but no admittance of fault. We can only hope something comes of it and no other family has to suffer due to such negligence. Should have lost their licence.
UPDATE: If you check CQC website, Promedica24 are no longer registered with them. But they still maintain on their website that they are.

Regarding the response below. Promedica 24 UK Ltd are no longer regisrered with the CQC . They are using another branch Promedica 24 (Lancashire) Ltd, which are still registered. They have so may subsidiary branches is is a minefield. We are waiting response from Ombudsman to see what action was taken.

Very poor care my experience was with cares that had little experience, mis administers strong controlled pain medication, misuse of equipment and no checking or controls in place by the management. ongoing complaint with the company who upon requesting information sent details of another patient don't touch with a barge pole

Managers promise the earth before you sign up, they start by providing qualified staff who are then replaced with whoever they can find, one staff members previous role was serving at McDonald's !
I was told if I raised concerns they would terminate the contract. My elderly mother was rushed into hospital after losing over 10kg in a month due to malnutrition, whilst in hospital she was diagnosed as contracting E-coli due to poor personal hygiene, something Promedica was also supposed to provide.
Ambulance staff raised an immediate safeguarding concern against the carer, and the hospital refused to discharge Mum back into their care.
I am advised the care coordinator was aware of an issue regarding what she described as a ‘personality’ clash between Mum and the carer some 10 days previously and was arranging ‘emergency’ replacement.
Seven days passed and still the carer was not replaced, at this time Mum was admitted to hospital.
It transpires Mum was left to her own devices ie surviving on cream crackers going upstairs on the stair lift alone putting herself to bed and same in the morning in reverse.
I received many distressed calls from Mum trying to tell me things were not as they should be and the appalling care she was receiving.
Please do not use this company if you care for your loved ones

I had promised my father before he died that I would look after my mother and keep her at home as long as I could. I had a company come in to look after on a live contract.they were ok. However Promedica 24 were recommended to me and I will always be great full to them as the care my mother has received has been everything that my father and I could have wished for. The girls have not only looked after my mother but the house has been looked after and always clean. Any question I have had have been dealt with by Mark Muller straight away and I could not ask for better service. On the care side I have Gillian Louggar as area manager who sorted out anything I asked of her. She is absolutely fantastic at what she dose and a wonderful girl with it. I can only say that what has been the most difficult time in my life watching my mother who has dementia changing with time being looked after so we’ll has helped me to cope with it. Thanks you so much to Promedica 24 I know my father would be very happy.
