Dangerous "tick-box" policies over patient safety

I strongly advise avoiding Airmed if you expect actual healthcare. When I approached them, I explained that a specific medication makes me very sick, and I also informed them that I am already successfully being prescribed medical cannabis elsewhere. Despite this, I was explicitly told that I would have to actively abandon my working treatment, go back to a medication that almost caused me to drop out of university, and take it for three full months before they would consider an alternative. When I questioned this, their only response was to cite their internal guidelines. A clinic that advises a patient to deliberately take something that severe for 90 days just to satisfy an administrative quota is negligent. Look elsewhere.

Due to medical cannabis being a controlled schedule 2 medication, we have strict guidelines we are required to follow.

Part of these regulations is that patients have trialed and failed at least 2 forms of treatment for a period of at least 3 months before being eligible.

We appreciate your frustration however this process is in place to guarantee the safety of our patients, which is our top priority.

I really didn't know what to expect…

I really didn't know what to expect when I filled in my enquiry form, but I have to say everyone I have spoken with and emailed have been very, very helpful and friendly. They truly do everything they can to help - whether that's resending emails (whoops) when 'someone' accidentally deleted one, or telephone consultations late in the evening to fit around my commitments.
And I'm sleeping better than I have for a good few years now.

Great service from start to finnish! *UPDATED*

I contacted Airmed in early April 2026 and from the first spoken contact the team have been consistently friendly and helpful both over the phone and through email. The process was quick, but not rushed, it would have been even faster if I had a current Summary Care Report from day 1! The appointment with the doctor was professional, but approachable, very similar to talking to most GP's only with more focus on how you can benefit from the treatment if approved. All of this for what is essentially a free service is very impressive and I'm more than satisfied being their customer.

*UPDATE 27/05/2026*
Whilst my first prescription went well, the same can't be said for the second. I had my 1 month review where the Dr agreed to double my allowance and write a prescription for the new amount, however the prescription was not updated, so I called Airmed who told me to pay for this order and then request the remainder myself, I did this only for the Dr to refuse my request as a duplicate. I called the pharmacy to explain what had happened and they told me they would look into it, the next day I received a new request for payment, this time for the full amount, this was paid straight away and I have been waiting and waiting for an update, but nothing came through. I called the pharmacy today to ask what was going on and they told me their pharmacist was on leave and they have someone in to cover for them this Friday, but because it has been so long since my order was made, they now don't think they have enough stock and may have to redo the prescription which is incredible frustrating. The soonest they can possibly provide me with the medicine is 10 days post ordering, which is downright poor service, especially considering nobody from either Airmed or the pharmacy made contact to let me know there would be delays, surely it wouldn't have been too much trouble to send a quick email to everyone or even make personal calls to anyone effected? I think this area of the business needs some work as for me it has soured a previously great experience and has knocked my trust in Airmed's ability to deliver on their service.

*UPDATE 27/05/2026*
To be fair to Airmed and the pharmacy, since being made aware of my issues with the recent prescription, they have been very helpful and forthcoming with updates, I'm now expecting delivery tomorrow. It seems like this was just a one off, but still it serves as a good case for them to learn for and be a little bit more on the ball when it comes to updating patients of any delays they may expect.

One Happy patient .

The clinic was a straight forward process, with genuine care and help along the way.
I found the consultation with the Dr was helpful whilst maintaining empathy for my for my rapid declining health .
What i respected more was the questions regarding my health and indepth analysis of my medications , what i take , when i take , and the mgs of the medication , this put my mind at ease regarding my safety and wellbeing with medicinal cannabis.
No stone was unturned !
Once the consultation was over , i received my perscription came pretty swift considering im a first timer.
The icing on the cake , proof in the pudding . The flower , cbd oil helped with a deep nights sleep,
also with the spasms and tremors giving me a good pain level drop on my pain scale from an 8 to 10 to a 4 to 6 bringing a sigh of relief to my weary self, turning my days brighter again.

I will be eternally grateful to all team who do an important job helping patients where science failed !

They have had me running around in circles for the past two months with no results I feel like they have wasted my time, aswell they can’t even get my name , unfortunately for you, I am not a yes man like the majority of your clients. I speak the truth

Airmed has been life-changing for me

I recently transferred to the Airmed Clinic, and I am delighted with them. I have mainly been speaking with Chloe, who is wonderful, so friendly and extremely helpful and a pleasure to deal with.
Airmed is a clinic that clearly cares about its patients and is very professional while remaining very approachable. I am under the care of Dr Searle, and what a lovely doctor, so caring and highly knowledgeable. Dr Searle doesn't rush consultations and is genuinely interested in gaining a clear understanding of your current health issues and prescribing accordingly, with a cautious approach to ensure you are completely comfortable with your treatment plan.
I have been with a few other clinics over the last few years, and I have to say that Airmed has been life-changing for me, and I cannot give them enough praise.

First class from day 1

I switched from another clinic to Airmed, and was apprehensive about doing so, however I completed the on boarding details and I was contacted by Tina. I explained I had heard about the My Patient Access Scheme, and being on low income is the reason I was looking to change. Tina explained the process and guided me every step of the way, Tina made the whole process seem effortless. I had my consultation with the Doctor/Clinician and again I spoke to someone that was friendly l, took a interest in me, listened to me without hurrying me, and really cared. The Doctor gave me a choice of medication and I picked one that she recommended. By the strain suggested and how good the effects were, it was obvious that she had really took on board what I had said. Within a couple of days I had my prescription delivered and was very pleased with how smooth the whole process had been, I had my follow up consultation and it was agreed that going forward, I could look on the patient portal and order the medication I wanted for that month. All in all I have rated Airmed 5 stars but wish I could rate them 10 stars.....first class service, professional and caring. The My Patient Access Scheme is also a game changer for me as funds are limited. But there is still a wide selection of products available in a wide range of prices.
