I generally find the Equiniti website OK to use but can find it non intuitive at certain parts.
There are some shares entries that I added on my Dashboard in error and I want to remove them but cannot find out how to do so, even after look through the Help sections.
The phone service is very good once I get to speak to someone. The on-hold wait times I find are very long in general, maybe average 20minutes, usually longer.
Today was an exception, I was only on-hold for about 5minutes, which surprised me.

I had some questions about transferring shares from a maturing Sharesave scheme into an ISA and used their webchat. Nicholas was incredibly helpful, answering all my questions and making sure I understood everything. Excellent service and I feel a lot more confident around my options!

Relatively quick to connect and respond. Completed task and provided with advice on next steps.

Advisor's have been very efficient and directed as what to do to deal with my late dad's shares, it's a difficult time losing a parent so when dealing with his affairs to sort through it helps when it's straightforward

Selling my shares
I spoke to two people and both were very helpful and sorted out my selling of the shares. Very understanding 👍

I've been using Equiniti Shareview to administer my shareholdings in various companies for about 16 years. Today I called the phone number provided to report a problem with a document that had been generated for one of these holdings. The document incorrectly stated that I had been sent a cheque but had not paid it in when in fact no cheque had been issued and the relevant amount had already been paid into my bank account. The agent I spoke to refused to acknowledge this was a problem, and maintained the letter was correct, because I would have been sent a cheque if Equiniti didn't already have my bank account details. He seemed incapable of recognising that such documents could be very confusing and that it would be better not to generate them. He refused to go beyond explaining why the incorrect document had been generated and said he had no means of contacting anyone at Equiniti to get the system changed so that such documents would not be generated in future. His attitude was extraordinarily unhelpful . All I wanted him to do was to note what had happened and pass it on to whatever team of developers manages the system that generates such documents, but he was neither willing nor able to do this.

Here is what happened in detail:
1. I have a shareholding in company X.
2. At some point in the past I have registered my bank details for the shareholding so that dividends are paid directly into my bank account.
3. Later on I have joined the DRIP for this company.
4. Later still I have left the DRIP, leaving a cash residue that is held by Equiniti but which belongs to me.
5. The next dividend is paid into my bank account.
6. Shortly afterwards Equiniti sends me a letter noting that I have left the DRIP and telling me the DRIP residue has also been paid into my bank account.
7. When I log into Equiniti Shareview there is a DRIP statement generated on the same day the letter was sent to me. But this statement is not the same as the one sent to me and states: "Our records show that you have outstanding cheque(s) from when you were in the dividend reinvestment plan (the DRIP).
You should cash these payments before they expire. If you can’t find your cheque, or if it is out of date contact us now for a replacement payment. You may be charged a fee for this service."
8. I am confused and wonder if I have misread the letter received in the post, since shredded, and perhaps also shredded a cheque when I misread the letter.
9. I check my bank account and see the relevant amount has been paid in, and so realise this is just an inconsistency between the letter I was actually sent and the one held online.
10. In a spirit of helpfulness, (I am a former software developer), I try to contact Equiniti to point out that the online document is incorrect and could cause confusion. I make it completely clear to the person taking the call that I know there never was a cheque and that I have been paid, and am just pointing out that the online letter should match the one actually sent to me.
11. The person taking the call is entirely unhelpful and isn't remotely grateful to me for pointing out the inconsistency. I end the call when it is clear my only recourse is either to make a complaint or write a one-star Trustpilot review, which I tell him I will do.
