We booked our school reunion meal ar Bar + Block King's Cross. I ordered the Fish Block for £24 which comprised of one of the smallest seabass fillets I've ever seen, a piece of dried up pollock, TWO king prawns, a handful of frozen squid pieces and some frozen chips. All of which were tepid!! Charging £24 for such a small portion is ridiculous and when it can't even be served hot makes it more insulting. One of my friends received an incorrect meal and when the correct dish was served it was cold, another had a burger that was presented in such a way that I wouldn't serve it to a dog and two others who decided to share the chateaubriand for the extortionate price that it was were severely disappointed at the size of the beef and lacking side orders. I've had some bad meals on my life but this has got to be up at the top. The majority of the issues were due to your chef's inability to plate up 8 meals ( well 7 really) at the same time during what appeared to be a quiet restaurant. I understand the pricing is out of your hands. To add insult to injury, we were brought a bowl of chilli squid which appeared to be a goodwill gesture, although I had observed one of the chef's having put it on the pass as part of another tables order which your FOH rejected as an mistake. Absolutely shocking all round. We will not be returning and I will determine anyone else I know from visiting any Bar + Block branch!!

My friend and I come here regularly for Bottomless Brunch and we wouldn’t go anywhere else - the food is great and the service is fabulous. Reasonably priced and always a great ambience.
Shoutout to Karen who always goes the extra mile to make it a brilliant experience.

Hammersmith bar and block chef was terrible yelling at the waiter and the manager which everyone could hear it but the manager and waiter were helpful and nice

I ordered a steak with sauce and fries and sideorder asparagus. I Got a rare beef instead of medium which i ordered. The waiter took it back, and cooked it some more, but when I got it again it was Smokey. The asparagus I ordered was burned. I told the waiter that the food was not good and the waiter did not care. She said two staff members called in sick. And we sat around dirty dishwash because they didn’t have time to clean them. My two companions got burgers and they were really well done. Really bad food experience and the waiters didn’t care at all. When I tried to get in contact with the restaurant it’s not possible on the website.

Winnersh, Reading - Great food & choice of cocktails on 2 4 1. Our server Lynsey was fantastic - very friendly, polite, attentive & made for a great experience. We had a 30% off mains, which made our meal for 3 very reasonably priced.

If we didn't ask the waiters to take our order we would still be there.

Told them we had been waiting 40+ minutes and they didn't care either.. the food was nice, just bad service.

Visited Whitley Bar and Bloc, menu pretty poor,starters of bruschetta,which is actually rock hard flatbread with just cherry tomatoes on top.Steak at £25 plus,arrives as just a poor quality steak and 14 chips.Childs menu,had to ask for the starter after the main had arrived.All in all poor quality and far too expensive for what is served.Can guarantee no return.

Whiteley - So I booked a table for 5pm, arrived and was seated… there was a birthday card for my wife, and some sweets…

All good so far, ordered our drinks and still, all good, our waitress then came over and we started to chat about the food they have, something we always do..
I did at one point catch the waitress rolling her eyes at my wife, which I found strange straight away…

We ordered the Chateaubriand, when it arrived I was automatically suspicious of what was in front of me and got another waitress to come and answer me, I’ve had many CB’s over my years and none looked liked this, they said it was pre cut for us, save doing it at the table, I wish I could add a picture, this to me was 2 rump steaks cut up at best..
But that was not the only issue.. it was stone cold, as were the mushrooms and the onion rings… chips were warm, but the rest was cold.. we left it and told them to wrap it at the table for us, my wife is suspicious of food that gets returned, so they brought a roll of foil out and we wrapped it up, paid and left…

To say I will never frequent here again is an understatement…

For £65, I expect to see what I paid for, and that was not what arrived.. you can say whatever you want… I have already shown the photo to others who agree it is not a Chateaubriand….

Service bad very slow and it was empty food was cold and not cooked right complained didn't care don't waste your money

Went for Christmas meal with work. Was told that they had a supply issue and didn't have some things on the menu. Gave our drinks order and waited for half an hour but had no drinks, only to find that the staff were arguing about who was doing our drinks order. Will not be going there again.

A terrific family lunch at Winnersh for 14, inc. 5 children. I had a Sunday lunch. Beef sirloin cooked pink with a side of pigs in blankets. Lovely roast potatoes and parsnips. Very relaxed atmosphere and good service.

I’ll be the honest, the food was alright but the service from Danielle was amazing! Epitome of excellent customer service! Good banter and cute smile!

Will defo come back if I’m in town!

PRICE HIKE ON COCKTAILS
My partner and I visited Bar & Block Whiteley a lot as their cocktails were the best and they were very reasonable between £9.50-£10 and with the 2 for 1 offer between 4-8pm was when I visited most.
But they now offer 2 for 1 all day which is good but with a price hike off around 40% £13.50-£14,guessing it’s to offset the all day offer but 40%, am annoyed as the reason I went there was for the great cocktails and their great prices.

Dreadful, I took my daughter last night for her birthday, prawns and fish over cooked and in a very strange sauce, potatos tasted like they had been in the fridge for too long, the steak had to be sent back...we asked for medium rare and got rare and very cold in the middle. No seasoning on anything. The waitress and the drinks were the only good things about the
night. £106 for a dreadful meal, so angry!! As it was my daughter birthday I didn't want to cause fuss so I just paid.

We have been to both Portsmouth and Whiteley - Have to say the service by the waiters/Waitress was Great, food was cooked to perfection at Whiteley and we would have no hesitation to go back there.

Over priced small portions, cold food, 31 pond for steak and about 10 chips, asked for well done, came with blood in it, don't recommend at all, didn't complain as my wife doesn't like me to complain.

Bristol city centre, small portions, over priced, for what we had, £31 for 12oz sirloin and about 10 chips, absolute joke, asked for well done steak, came with blood coming from the steak, had to wait a long time for food, steak was hardly warm, only reason didn't complaint at the time was wife doesn't like to complain. First time been there and the last time. Don't recommend.only good thing was the waiting staff who were lovely. Avoid unless you like small over priced portion

Amazing experience Sunday night. Big shout out to Toby and Callum in the kitchen, perfect food prepared and served to a high standard. Thanks to Kate H for your fantastic service. Faultless visit, made a very special occasion that bit more special x

Always a great steak at the Nottingham branch. Service from staff is also really good.

Had a great meal in the Bar+Block Milton Keynes, service was great, Andi was our hostess, she worked out my husbands sense of humour straight away, made for a great evening for our anniversary. Enjoyed the food, will definitely be going again!
