Bar and Block whiteley was great food and a great meal thankyou

Had an awful meal in Portsmouth, I returned the steak and the waitress came back to me and said the chef agreed it wasn't up to standard. But this meant i waited 12 mins for the re-cooked meal and all my friends ate all theirs otherwise theirs would have been cold, so I ate alone with everyone watching. The new meal wasn't really much better but I wasn't prepared to go through all this again.
I filled out their survey and didn't hear back, so I emailed them directly asking for a response ...... nothing.
SHOCKING service!!!!!
I certainly can't recommend them which is a shame because a year before I had a nice meal.

Again, asked for well done steak and got it burnt on outside of the steak and red raw in middle. Informed waitress but she took my plate to chef counter and no further action was taken. For a "steakhouse " this is poor. Not first time also, this occurred two years ago. Three visits to this so called restaurant and never completed my food to any standards or to my requested order.
Always lack of staff causing up to an hours wait to eat.
Food never comes out completed to order.
Drinks can take up to an hour also again due to lack of staff.
They sell dried up chinese food but no oriental sauce to improve the flavour.
Chef came to customer counter and was shouting and cursing in front of customers, unacceptable service.

Terrible service and rude staff. Waiting hours for main meal, even when it come to payment had the card machine chucked on the table and left to process it ourselves!! Our waiter barely said two words to us the entire time and the person who ‘served’ us dinner told us they couldn’t take a drinks order or get us our bill and they would get out ‘server’ who just never bothered to appear!

Really P***ed off tonight. Left the restaurant determined never to go back there, when we've been regular customers since it initially opened. I was placing my order and Karen pushed me into the Surf & Turf, instead of the Garlic Mushrooms I was going to have. The meals arrived and there were two 'plastic' prawns with no taste at all & a Scallop third cut in two, again no taste. My Ribeye Steak was very Rare, when I ordered Medium, but I didn't want to complain. But at the end of the meals and seeing I was charged £10! for two disgusting Prawns & a tiny piece of Scallop, I had to complain. The response was "Well you had a promotion code (which took £16.00 off the bill), we can't do anything about it!!! So my £16.00 saving was eaten up by two terrible prawns & a tiny piece of Scallop!!!!! I was absolutely fuming & on the way home swore that we wouldn't go back, a shame as we often went once a month it was our favourite local restaurant.
For the sake of £10! Bar & Block have lost some genuine loyal customers!! When Josh was managing it, if there was an issue, there was never a problem, it always got sorted.
Goodbye Bar and Block, we won't be back..........Enjoy the £10 two prawns & a third of a Scallop!! Thank you Gary the Manager for NOT Giving a Dam Too!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Was attacked by the door men for challenging their refusal for not allowing us in, there was at least 3 door men who attacked me and the group. The incident has now been allocated a crime reference number and is in the hands of Greater Manchester Police.

Me and my fiancé went to the Bar + Block in Sutton, Surrey, for a birthday treat for me.
The food was superb, a small platter of haloumi fries to share and a 12oz and an 8oz rump steak (with extras) as a main, which, along with the service, which was top notch, made the night so good.
My compliments to the manager, Gianni who served us, and the other staff who did as well.

Not taking bookings on a Sunday because they didn't get a delivery. What ?? Told they are prioritising the customers of the premier Inn next door ...there were about 4 tables in! Absolutely ridiculous for a large chain restaurant. Won't be going there again

My daughters fish batter was like a trampoline it was so underdone

My chips were soggy like they hadn’t fully thawed from the freezer to frier

Went here Sunday 1st October to celebrate a friend's birthday. The first words out of staffs mouth was "We have no fillet steaks or mushrooms". Not the best of starts. We then ordered other steaks, all 4 came out cold along with the fries and onion rings. We sat waiting until the food finally arrived and to say it was mediocre is an understatement. I really would not recommend this chain of restaurants unless you really fancy a bad food experience.

Bar and Block in Winnersh - lovely food but amazing service! Had our usual ladies and they looked after us very well.

Bar and Block Winnersh great food and service thank you the waitresses was very helpful as my sugar le el had dropped and got me a pint of coke I'm very grateful for that

We went to Bar & Block in Wimbledon on Bank Holiday Monday on the 28th August 2023. We had a burger and chips and ended up with food poisoning. I used their website to complain via email on the 29th August 2023. Their rule is I will receive a response within 48 hours. It is the 7th of September and I still have not received a response.

Very disappointing service, they have lost a valued customer who regularly eats at the Paddington Merchant Square Bar & Block.

The food was fine - steaks done as requested and all food warm - when it arrived!! And therein lies the problem. The service was the slowest I have ever experienced. We eventually had to try and find a member of staff (they were well hidden) to ask for a dessert menu as they had clearly forgotten all about us. After the main meal, someone came to clear the plates, took some and then disappeared for about 15 mins before coming back for a few more. Table still had not been fully cleared when we left about 2.5 hours. Decided against dessert as had no idea how long it would take to get someone to take an order, or when it might arrive. I wouldn't have minded if the restaurant had been busy but it was virtually deserted!

Really bad service. They didn’t care about their guests. Waited 45 minutes for the bill. Then had to go to the till to pay as they did not bring machine and I couldn’t get their attention. My bf is autistic so he was getting very frustrated and uncomfortable at the wait. Decent food, but horrible service. It wasn’t even busy

We went to bar and block today never been before,very impressed with lunchtime menu food was lovely ,staff very attentive,highly recommended,we will be back soon ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
