Why didn't I check their trust pilot…

Why didn't I check their trust pilot before ordering. Now I'm stuck with a mess. Employed someone for the day to help me move and lay turf and these clowns have no record of my order. They also have my money and their Cs is a complete waste of time. What a headache to save a few pennies!

Do not use

Please! I hope you see this before purchasing. Absolutely shocking company, delivered a day early, dumped the items on the street, half the order missing. Customer service team cannot access the order information simply tell you they will send an email to topsoil. This makes me think the number you call is a 3rd party.

Do not use!!!

I placed an order for turf on 26th…

I placed an order for turf on 26th April and received email confirmation stating that delivery would take place on Friday 1st May.

By midday on the scheduled delivery date, having heard nothing further, I contacted the company to ask for an estimated delivery time. I was then told that no such order existed. Later that same day, I received an email from Jess advising that my order was “in limbo” and offering either a refund or delayed delivery on Thursday 7th May.

As it was the bank holiday weekend, I waited until Tuesday to confirm that I was willing to wait for the revised delivery date. However, when I contacted the company again, I was once more told that no order existed under either my order number or personal details.

Since then, I have sent several emails and received no response. I have also made numerous phone calls, only to repeatedly receive the same answer — that my order could not be found.

This has been an extremely frustrating and unprofessional experience, with poor communication, a complete lack of accountability, and no clear resolution despite payment having been taken.

Based on my experience, I would strongly advise others to avoid this company as it feels like I have been scammed!!!

I sincerely hope the company has the professionalism to respond to this review and address the matter properly.

Terrible - do not use

I would give zero stars if that were an option. We ordered a week in advance and booked expensive plant hire to be able to unload the topsoil and turf over the bank holiday weekend while we were off work and had booked the Friday off work to be able to do a bunch of the work as the weather looked bad later in the weekend. 2 days before delivery, I got a voicemail asking me to call back, which I did but got someone in a call centre who didn't know what was going on. I asked to speak with the person who had left the voicemail and was told that person would call me. She didn't call until the following day and then told me it was too late for deliver to occur the next day (the day we had booked for) because they didn't know we had booked a telehandler to take the delivery off the lorry. Their assumption and starting point was that we wouldn't be able to offload the delivery, rather than assuming we would be able to do it as we had been instructed by them, so we lost a day. She also said they wouldn't necessarily be able to get all of the topsoil or any of the turf on the Saturday and that the rest would turn up on the following Tuesday, which was no good for us as we would be back at work and the equipment we had spent £1400 renting for the weekend would have been returned. My partner called them on Friday (the day they were supposed to deliver the whole order) to say that they needed to figure out a way to deliver everything to us no later than Saturday and he asked for a phone call back from "head office", whom he'd been told this would have to be escalated to. We have never received that phone call and we have received no responses to our emails since that time. The lorry driver took pity on us on the Saturday and managed to get all of the top soil to us in two deliveries, but no sign of the turf. I emailed again over the bank holiday weekend to advise that we could not take delivery of the turf on the Tuesday and have had no response. Nothing happened on the Tuesday so we assumed that they had received the message and cancelled that part of the order. But no, on Wednesday I got a notification saying they would be delivering the turf about 2 hours later. I called them to get them to stop the delivery because no one was home and the turf, which was now 5 days late, would just die. I got the call centre again and was advised there was nothing I could do but email the same email address I had been writing to for several days and receiving no responses from. I still have not heard from them and there is no sign of a refund and it is nearly a week later. Absolutely mind-blowingly terrible company.

I am extremely disappointed with my…

I am extremely disappointed with my experience. The topsoil was delivered much earlier than scheduled, and the driver dumped it right in the middle of my driveway, blocking me in completely.

When I called to resolve the issue, customer service was unhelpful and dismissive of the inconvenience they caused. Had I known the service would be this poor, I would have absolutely taken my business elsewhere. Save yourself the headache and go with a more professional company.

They cannot deliver

They cannot deliver! I worked with this company, when they deliver soil, they did a good job, but when it comes to stones/slates they are worst. they work with PALLETLINE and they are the worst, they dumped 800 kgs of slate to my neighbours driveway and blocked it. The excuse it the platte that topsoil provided got broken and there is nothing they could do. Now I have to remove that bulk from their driveway, pay for comical penalty and think again if I would like to see that un-refundable slate ever again in my garden.

DO NOT USE...I would strongly advise avoiding topsoil.co.uk

We ordered two bulk (tonne) bags of bark, and the entire experience was frustrating from start to finish. To begin with, we were given no notice of the delivery date—no call, no email, nothing. The order simply turned up unannounced.
Worse, the delivery was just dumped at the front of our property, despite there being a much more suitable location that would have made unloading significantly easier. No attempt was made to check placement or communicate with us.
When I contacted customer service to explain the situation, they were completely unhelpful. They showed no willingness to resolve the issue and repeatedly hid behind their terms and conditions rather than offering any practical support or understanding.
Overall, very poor service and a lack of basic customer care. I would not use them again and recommend going with more reputable suppliers such as MKM or House of Timber instead.

Been advised that they've already booked out all delivery slots and I need to wait 5 days until redelivery. Absolutely ruins my programme and costs me time and money.

Terrible service.

Have just today placed my 4th order…

Have just today placed my 4th order with Topsoil.co.uk I have been pleased with every batch and delivery.

Deliveries have been on time and as agreed, the drivers dropped the pallets exactly where I needed them.

Our road is easy to get down, but not the best to access with parked cars everywhere, but every driver has been happy and polite.

The compost and top soil was clean and the wood chips are good quality, have tried other types and they are more bark and rot down quickly, will see how these bags do.

From my experiences with this company, I would recommend them. I used to deliver bulk bags for a builders merchants, and their topsoil was very clay and stony, and didn't take long for the weeds to appear, the topsoil I have had so far from this company has been a much better quality.

I wouldn't bother ordering anything…

I wouldn't bother ordering anything from here.

Turf was unusable, 8 rolls out of 30 were completely disintegrated and the others just had holes and corner missing.

You could tell that the turf had been sitting on the pallet for ages as the two last layers of rolls were unusable.

Save your money. Don't order here.

Awful. Don’t bother.

Advice: don’t use Topsoil.co.uk. Shocking service. A simple order of top soil and turf to redo my garden. I followed their process but a difficult delivery driver decided he didn’t want to drive down my shared driveway and therefore expected me to get 2ton of soil and turf down my driveway. I explained that I couldn’t do that, especially with a profoundly disabled child at home, and declined the delivery. They have refused a full refund and offered me £30 for my £130 paid. This is based on, “it’s the driver’s discretion “. They did offer to redeliver, but still all the way at the end of the drive. Shockingly bad. I couldn’t care about the money. I refuse to be treated badly by a terrible company. On to the retail ombudsman here I come.

Purchase their premium top soil when it…

Purchase their premium top soil when it was delivered it looked ok , but when it gets wet you can see the 15 ml chunks of sandstone that makes up a good proportion of the total amount . Now when cutting the lawn it’s like being on the firing range !! Spoke to their office and was told they are allowed to put 20% foreign material in to the soil
Quality is absolutely rubbish and well over priced !! Would never recommend this company to anybody !!

Dont use - unwilling to fix their own mistake.

I ordered 20 rolls of turf from Topsoil.co.uk, but only 19 were delivered. I contacted customer service with photos, and they admitted the error was on their side due to a misload by their delivery partner.

Despite acknowledging the mistake, they refused to resolve the issue to my satisfaction, leaving me to source the missing roll myself, which leaves me out of pocket, and having to use my own time to find it.

This solution is impractical and unfair, I'm left with a gap in my lawn, forced to spend time and money finding a compatible roll, and the refund doesn’t cover the full cost or inconvenience.

When I asked if the refund would include my time and transport costs, they declined to offer anything further. Their rigid policies and lack of accountability have left me frustrated. I won’t be ordering from them again.

I brought their premium turf and topsoil bundle cost me hundreds and the turf is absolute rubbish. Absolutely riddled with poa annua weeds! I spend at least an hour a day on my hands and knees plucking this crap from my lawn. The customer services is a total joke, nobody has retirees my calls! The delivery was hours late should have arrived first thing, eventually turned up at 15:30, the top 3 turfs on the bull bag was perfect then after the driver had left and we unloaded the rest of the turf we realised how we had been conned!
Turf is not premium
Topsoil is not premium
Customer services is not premium

The only thing premium about these cowboys is the premium prices they charge for crap

It’s a shame I can’t post pics on this review just to show you all what crap these cowboys sell as a premium product!

TopSoil Order Delays and Refusal to Share Courier Info—Beware

I’ve been a fairly satisfied returning customer of TopSoil—until now. I ordered two bags of topsoil and scheduled delivery carefully, as I have a gravel drive and needed to be available to move it immediately from a roadside drop. On the day, I received no delivery notice.

I called TopSoil’s outsourced call centre, who confirmed the order was out for delivery but refused to give me the courier or consignment number, citing instructions from ‘head office.’ I informed them that under the Consumer Act 2025, they are obliged to provide this information. After checking with ‘head office,’ they said the courier was Palletways but wouldn’t share contact details or a tracking number.

Contacting Palletways directly, I was told they only received the order two days ago—despite me ordering nine days earlier—and I had to reschedule delivery myself.

This resulted in a wasted half day off work chasing an undelivered order and dealing with a customer service team unaware of basic consumer rights.

Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.

Gimmicky laughable service

Customer service is non-existent. They clearly use a telephone answering service provided by a third party and the attitude / approach of that provider is WILD!

Ordered 6 bags of topsoil. The twinstack approach they scream from the roof tops about is just laughable, its two dumpy bags stacked on top of each other which are then placed on second hand pallets which are not fit for purpose or strong enough for the weight being placed on to them. Driver spent over an hour blocking the street to get all of the broken pallets off. Managed to get 1 pallet off (two bags).

On calling Rolawn / Topsoil co uk, I had the displeasure of speaking to “Olivia” who thought the appropriate thing to do to resolve her customer’s issue was to shout down the phone at them! My experience is the same as all of the other reviews - the third party “customer service agents” aren’t empowered to do anything, simply refer to Rolawn / Topsoil co uk as “they” or “head office”. It’s basically a 90s style telephone answering service…in 2025.

Was finally called by “Jessica” from Rolawn. Terrible service, so have had to cancel the remainder of the order and ask for a refund. Had to remind “Jessica” several times that I was not making a customer return and the two pallets worth of goods were never delivered. She didn’t seem to be able to comprehend that. No doubt will have to do a card charge back.

Avoid Rolawn / Topsoil co uk at all costs.

The number of negative reviews tells you everything you need to know! I ordered topsoil to arrive on the Wednesday and turf on the Thursday which would have given me time to get the soil in and then spend the following day getting the turf down so that the grass wouldn't die. I was told that due to a 'system error' the Wednesday delivery was not possible and so it would come on the Thursday. The turf turned up first thing in the morning with no sign of the topsoil which meant the rolls of grass were left baking on the driveway on a hot day. The topsoil finally arrived at 3pm-ish so I had to spend the afternoon putting that into the garden. The quality of the soil was shocking, it had bits of plastic, stones and large sticks. I had spent days sorting the garden ahead of delivery removing waste only to add even more crap to it! I finally managed to get the turf in the following day but it was a race against time as it had already started dying. It's a good job I was doing the work myself as if it had been landscapers the plan may have gone out of the window with availability etc. I am in the process of trying to get a refund but take my advice and go elsewhere! I wish I had checked the reviews before ordering.
