I ordered medallion turf and topsoil…
I ordered medallion turf and topsoil bundle at 15sqm . I needed 14sqm.
The delivery was prompt to our landing spot in the shade side of house before 9am Friday . Enclosed truck roof and curtains..
The rolls were hot and smelt like hay or warm compost.
Yellow full of POA and some rolls were thinner than others and one was cut into a triangle which was handy as it went in at one point to patch up where we had to make do.
It was also hard to cut due to plastic . Some of this plastic mesh was more prominent in some rolls than others. I’ve not found anywhere with a break down timeline on the supposed eco friendly mesh. Although since I have read a few not so good stories about children’s feet and dogs paws
We’ve spent the last three weeks having drips of reply’s to emails to Rolawn and am still not 100% fully resolved
I do not believe that these rolls of grass come from their fields like they state on their website where I was sucked in by there 100`% fantastic reviews .
Which again to this day I’ve not been invited to leave a review on.. has a paying customer it should be me writing reviews there not here but there you go.
In summary it’s upto you I would steer clear you’ll be better of at a retail outlet.

As they failed to send correct amount of turf leaving us 3 short!!! which is extremely frustrating as we now have an incomplete project!!! their customer service is non existent!! they state on their website it is award winning!!! we have tried phone,(the call handler was rude and did not resolve the issue) email x2 ignored and chat box which stated sorry for delay(over 1 hour) they were busy in a meeting!! (laughable) all of our attempts have been ignored and thoroughly time wasting!!!! very disappointed Definitely would Not recommend. Only giving 1 star as there is no option for 0

Awful customer service. I purchased medallion landed which is not germinating and have raised this with rolawn uk over emails and phone calls and they ignoring my issue. It feels like they hope customer will go away get tired chasing them. This is so surprising for such a premium brand an D.C. frankly unacceptable. The review here capture the reality of rolawn ! I cannot stress this enough…DO NOT BUY FROM ROLAWN. They do not deserve your business.
If I could give this company 0 stars I would. Non existent customer service, poor communication. Palletways delivery service is somewhat chaotic.
We ordered a very large domestic delivery. At their request, we agreed to them to have it split down onto three deliveries, all on pallets. All in consecutive days.
On the first day they called to say the driver had missed their collection slot so it wouldn’t be arriving as scheduled. Wasn’t an issue. It then arrived, at random, on the agreed day and was dumped on our driveway so we couldn’t access.
Order wasn’t complete.
I called more than five times trying to speak to someone and was met with complete nonsense each time. Suspected their call centre wasn’t ‘attached’ to their head office. Left messages and emailed. No response from either.
Second delivery arrived the next day. Thankfully the delivery driver was incredibly accommodating and helpful when unloading. Order was incomplete.
Repeated calls and emails and no responses.
Third delivery arrived. Again, a helpful delivery driver. Order was incomplete.
I called and emailed again. No responses. The call handler at the call centre confirmed they are unable to transfer calls and edit orders, I fact they have no updates on orders they can only see what I ordered in total. And as I suspected they are not located anywhere near the head office. They are only able to email to ask for a response.
I’ve just this morning had the order completed. I had no idea the delivery was coming - who knows where it will be left and whether it’s correct. No one bothered to call me back or email me back.
How can a company operate effectively like this?! It can’t. That is evident.
I cannot stress this enough…DO NOT BUY FROM ROLAWN. They do not deserve your business.
I very much doubt this will elicit any response from ROLAWN but at least customers out there will avoid if they read this.

Awful customer service
Awful customer service. A family member order enough turf for a small lawn with a small amount left over. The company sent 1sqm less than was ordered and when phoned to rectify the customer service was worse than awful and said they should have ordered more but sent 1sqm less than they paid for. 1 star is generous
Filled with Leather Jackets
So this review is 6 years on from purchase to start with.
I'm leaving the review now as after 6 years of my lawn being devasted by leather jackets year on year and spending out more money on over seed to regrow the lawn it's just become an expensive event every year. I've tried some over the counter remedies to kill the leather jackets but no joy. They come back every year, eat the roots, hatch, fly and return in October to lay more eggs. I try deterring them by mowing the lawn alot but they get the better of me every year. As others have said there turf is filled with these guys so be prepared to enjoy your lawn for 1 year and then battle to keep it going after.
Failed to deliver.
Argh!!! Why didn’t I read the reviews! Failed to turn up to deliver topsoil on Saturday. No one responding to my emails and calls. So I have no choice but to publicly name and shame. Come on, you need to do better than this. Stop advertising what you promise to do if you simply can’t fulfil orders. Someone, for love of god, respond to me!!!

60 rolls all piled up in one pallet and the weight crushed the bottom rolls making them unusable. Grass itself was also of poor quality and the rolls were of various shapes and sizes. Will not be using this company again.

I did have a few bad rolls but they delivered replacements so very happy.
Following on from my awful review of Rolawn
Following on from my review of this dreadful lawn company, the second delivery (to make up for failing to deliver to me on the agreed day) was not on time either, endless excuses but the bottom line is bad service /bad experience to the customer and a complete waste of my time. Dont buy from Rolawn as they are unreliable and no control over distribution.
Don't waste your money!
Regret purchasing. Wish I had read reviews beforehand. I don't think the people at this company have a conscience or common sense otherwise they would not be providing such a terrible product. The turf I purchased and laid in April was patchy with holes and now the plastic mesh underneath is coming through. It is harmful to pets, wildlife as well as young children playing on the lawn. Oh well guess profit is all that matters to them...shame.

Poor quality turf and soil. Turf was patchy and dying within days, and the soil attracted foxes who dig it up every night. Would not recommend.

In defence of Rolawn
In defence of Rolawn, they are situated very far from London and are not aware of the dishonest and unreliable companies they subcontract to namely London Lawn Turf Co. etc.
I would recommend a bonafide company like Wickes or BnQ where you can see the actual stock you are purchasing and not fed lies when they don’t turn up.
Order Delays and Refusal to Share Courier Info—Beware
Having establish that TopSoil.co.uk is one of their entities, sensible to leave the review here too.
I’ve been a fairly satisfied returning customer of TopSoil—until now. I ordered two bags of topsoil and scheduled delivery carefully, as I have a gravel drive and needed to be available to move it immediately from a roadside drop. On the day, I received no delivery notice.
I called TopSoil’s outsourced call centre, who confirmed the order was out for delivery but refused to give me the courier or consignment number, citing instructions from ‘head office.’ I informed them that under the Consumer Act 2025, they are obliged to provide this information. After checking with ‘head office,’ they said the courier was Palletways but wouldn’t share contact details or a tracking number.
Contacting Palletways directly, I was told they only received the order two days ago—despite me ordering nine days earlier—and I had to reschedule delivery myself.
This resulted in a wasted half day off work chasing an undelivered order and dealing with a customer service team unaware of basic consumer rights.
Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.
Fantastic quality
I read all the negative comments and I was a bit reluctant about buying any turf from Rolawn but I’ve used them many times for my landscaping jobs and never had an issue with their turf infact it’s always taken very quickly with no issues. On this occasion the delivery was on time and the condition of the turf was fantastic considering the heatwave and delivery coming via a pallet delivery.
I can’t comment on their top soil as I’ve only ever ordered turf.

Terrible delivery service
Customer service is non-existent. They clearly use a telephone answering service provided by a third party and the attitude / approach of that provider is WILD!
Ordered 6 bags of topsoil. The twinstack approach they scream from the roof tops about is just laughable, its two dumpy bags stacked on top of each other which are then placed on second hand pallets which are not fit for purpose or strong enough for the weight being placed on to them. Driver spent over an hour blocking the street to get all of the broken pallets off. Managed to get 1 pallet off (two bags).
On calling Rolawn / Topsoil co uk, I had the displeasure of speaking to “Olivia” who thought the appropriate thing to do to resolve her customer’s issue was to shout down the phone at them! My experience is the same as all of the other reviews - the third party “customer service agents” aren’t empowered to do anything, simply refer to Rolawn / Topsoil co uk as “they” or “head office”. It’s basically a 90s style telephone answering service…in 2025.
Was finally called by “Jessica” from Rolawn. Terrible service, so have had to cancel the remainder of the order and ask for a refund. Had to remind “Jessica” several times that I was not making a customer return and the two pallets worth of goods were never delivered. She didn’t seem to be able to comprehend that. No doubt will have to do a card charge back.
Avoid Rolawn / Topsoil co uk at all costs.

Terrible company! Awful grass and horrendous customer service! I am still trying to sort my complaint weeks after the incident! Wish I hadn’t bought with them!

Terrible service. Things were going so well - purchased ton bags of soil for my new lawn project, got the order confirmation through. Spoke to customer service to confirm the delivery date and access restrictions at the site...
Delivery day came and went, no delivery, then the courier decided that that cannot deliver to my address and I am left running around chasing a refund.
Edit: despite Rolawns's comments, the delivery was not "delayed" - they declined to deliver AT ALL.
