Someone else debt added to my credit score.

Early last year I noticed PRA Group had been added to my credit score, I hadn’t had any letters or communication with them so were confused as to why they’d be showing as a £600ish default on my file. Called them up March 2024 and the man on the phone couldn’t tell me anything over the phone as he was struggling to find any details with my name and info. Received information a couple of weeks later that they had added this default to my file as a mistake and it would be removed. It is now a year and a half later and it has still not been removed from my credit score. I have called up multiple times in this timeframe and been told it’s ‘processing’ and would be removed soon. I even have a case with the financial ombudsman who are also trying to get this removed but no movement as it is clearly not a priority to PRA Group to remove their mistake from my file.

Excellent customer support from PRA…

Excellent customer support from PRA Group. They keep in contact regularly, issue easy to read statements, inform me of my various options and rights. Their customer service agents are very friendly, courteous and helpful and always listen and show great understanding. A+++ service.

I dealt with PRA Group by email ( Beverley), my query was dealt with quickly, the person dealing with it was professional and friendly/ polite, all questions were answered with ease and they were more than willing to help and give good solid advice , overall very excellent.

SCAM STAY AWAY

Scam, they dont have correct details and send fake debts in hope you're going to pay

Now asking for my private information to verify my account which I dont have, I dont even live in the country!

this company thinks that you dont need to provide a deed of assignment, its a legal requirement to prove you owe a debt

If I could leave no stars I would

If I could leave no stars I would. I don't usually leave reviews but after submitting a complaint following an awful call last October, I have just received a reply basically saying what I said was a lie and that my complaint about receiving calls from rude and pushy people must not be from them?! After finding similar reviews I feel a bit better but still sad they are allowed to treat people this way. I also have anxiety and depression and recently confirmed ADHD. I have a payment plan set up with them that I have continously paid on time. The amount I pay can not increase due to my limited ability to work. Yet on a number of calls I was asked to increase the monthly payments and advised I could payback what I owed quicker if I did this. Which could leave me in financial trouble.

These absolute clowns are still sending letters about a debt that was proven to not be genuine 12 years ago, well beyond the legal limit to even collect debt, hell will freeze before I give you a penny, keep wasting money on letters if you want. LEARN THE LAW AND STOP HARASSING PEOPLE.

Absolutely horrendous company

Edit.. emailed them requesting them to remove all information and defaults my reply was no as my account is still open no proof it was unenforceable and was closed when i have all the proof in emails.no communication between departments
Absolutely horrendous company,was fighting these for 3 years. I suffer with extreme mental health issues sent proof of this and income to show I was financially struggling. The debt was unenforceable but yet left a negative default every month without fail on a debt they couldn't even prove I owed. I have requested these been removed as they done the right thing and closed my account.defaults for missed payments I never agreed to pay and nothing was ever set up

Online Payment System

Online Payment System
When trying to make a payment online, it does an affordability check and if you do not reply yes and meet their criteria to all answers it will not let you make a payment. You cannot make a payment if your main bills are not up to date, rent, mortgage, council tax arrears, gas electric water, child maintenance.. and likelihood is, if you are in debt, your main bills will also be behind! Completely pointless. Agreed to a payment plan from me 14th feb 25, but pursued to take me to court, with an extra £585 in fees on 11th March! So happy to put me in more debt by adding court fees and a CCJ but wont take my money when I could pay something off if I am paying with universal credits money.

No End In Sight With This Company.

I have been paying this company with a DMP over the last 7 years. I have paid off a massive portion of this debt and called today to see if we could in the interest of fairness come to an arrangement to write off the remainder. The woman I spoke to was like speaking to a robot. No sign of empathy or willingness to listen or help in any way. I just wonder what is considered fair with this company and if they want to continue to bleed people dry of every penny they have for years and years.

Scam

I got a letter saying that I have an account with them for just over a year ago and I have paid them £188 and I failed to pay outstanding amount of £1100 😂🤦‍♂️
I have never paid a penny for them and never will! SCAM, please block them!!!!!!

Rude

I have been told i have a debt with these people I am registered desabled with physical health problems im also autistic and suffer from anxiety. I set up a payment plan with them and have been paying it. Last night I forgot to transfer the money to the account so it could be taken today. The payment was due today they tried to take the payment in the early hours of this morning, I realised it hadn't gone out at 7:30 this morning so made a payment straight away so that I didn't miss the payment. Then I got a text message from said company who said I missed a payment at 9:51 this morning so I rang and spoke to somebody to which I was told you missed a payment therefore your payment plan has been cancelled and you will have to set up another one. My issue is how can I have missed a payment if the payment was due today and was paid today how can I have missed a payment? If didn't pay until tomorrow then I can understand them saying you have a late payment. I have 4 debts that I'm paying off at the moment which i got due to my health failing not because I just didn't want to pay my bills. The person I spoke to on the phone I found abrupt and off hand when I was trying to ask questions her attitude was like she was better than me these people need to realise that there health could break at any time and they could then be in debt and they could then be treated the same way. Just because we are not working due to becoming poorly dose not mean we should be treated like we are rubbish which is how I felt after the phone call with them. I haven't even had the debt validated to me in writing and they say I should of had court papers for the ccj which I haven't. Yes I buried my head in the sand over the debts but that doesn't make me a bad person. The fact I didn't receive court papers must mean the ccj is not legal? I am not sure if that is the case but I have been told that I can not get it set aside because I knew about the debt. My contract for the debt was not with these people it was with another company I only started paying this company money because I didn't bailiffs coming to myhouse.

Lucky to get 1 star!!! A bully, harassing company that obviously do not understand the law of this country!!!

Just for your info PRA Group:

"The limitation period for collection of debts is 6 years from the date the debt became payable and after that time they may become statute barred. This means that the debt is no longer recoverable, including by legal action in the courts."

AND don't send some message saying "sorry to hear...blah blah blah"

Stop wasting your time & other people for a debt you probably purchased for £5 and now want £5K!!!

I have never had any debt and yet I am being called daily by this 'company' regarding debts I apparently had when I was 13 and didn't even live in this country.

Absolute horrors proof of debt emailed…

Absolute horrors proof of debt emailed twice chasing again. I’m at my wits end I have 2 chronic health conditions and having an op on my ileostomy to be reversed in New Year. I can’t sleep my anxiety is unbearable and I cannot stop crying. I set them proof last year and now they want me to prove it again. They are spiteful and certainly know how to ruin Christmas. They now want to help. They have been sent proof of payment twice. I am not sending anymore proofs.

Got a County Court order from PRA even…

Got a County Court order from PRA even though I offered to pay monthly. Now they have issued me a CCJ and refuse to take it off. Absolutely the most unhelpful and aggressive company I have ever dealt with.

A 5 year old claim for £349, which I disputed. Its now £2330 and the threats are coming thick and fast. This shouldnt be legal

pra look for old closed accounts …

had a letter fron this pra group claiming they bought an account from lloyds on 30/12/2023 thats a year nearly and i closed my accoiunt with lloyds 8year ago not sure how they got that i owe as nothing on my credit report and i have lived at 2 addresses since so lloyds not even know ive moved so how can they send a closed account looks like pra going back in time looking for closed accounts and then trying to get money been reported to fca authority and rip off britain who are very interested in talking to pra on national tv

Awful company

Sent a warrant of control due to a debt thats not been paid despite a standing order that had until july came out every month. Suddenly your bank refused payment 3/4 days later for no reason and now your doing this!! Its not my fault your account refused my payment and explain to me why it shows I was paying 30th every month when my standing order was the 1st!!

Your team dont care and not interested by looks of things you have done this on purpose so you can chase me for more
