Yeh don't get me wrong I can see what all the hype is about with regards to the fat lama, but my beloved drone crashed when someone was using it and its propellers completely broke. This meant it was out of action for 2 weeks whilst it got repaired. Fat Lama did make sure I was paid for the full repair costs, but it was annoying to not be able to use the drone or rent it out for the two weeks after the crash

Looks all well and good, but why would anyone rent stuff to strangers? Sounds a bit crazy to me - no thanks

I desperately needed to find a bike for my brother-in-law who was visiting my husband last week for some brotherly fun time together. My friend Dawn said to look on fat lama, so I did. Annoyingly, there wasn't anything that would have suited in Bath, but the Fat Lama team offered me a 20% of promo code for an option that was in Bristol. So even though I had to go to collect the bike from Clifton in Bristol (which is the other side of the city to the direction I entered from), I still managed to find a really good road bike at a marvellous price for which my hubby and his brother can do what they need to do!

To be honest, not best impressed with fat lama. I put up some photography lighting equipment I've had for some years now wasting away in my garage (good, high quality equipment). I don't however appreciate receiving the calls when I don't accept rental requests. P*$£ off with all of these! They ring me up asking me to accept rentals. How about you let me accept in my own time? They tell me slow responses will effect my 'lender points' and ratings will be downgraded. WHAT - no I tell you fat lama, that is not on, I will have whatever lender score I want whether or not I am slow or quick to respond. This being said, I know i'm ranting about this and it is probably just me being incredible critical and in a bit of a bad mood, but I do like how the site works and I can understand why you are calling me to speed up the process as it may be annoying for the person trying to rent my lights. But beware, I can be feisty on the phone, so watch out next time you call me!! This review isn't a reflection of the whole site, just for when they call me up trying to help, which i know for most people is for great, but I AM a diva, so tred lightly when dealing with me!!! Mwhaha

Fat lama sorted me with some extra mics for a radio station i run, so big ups to them for this. Got them for free with a promo code as well

Such a shame because everything was going so well until the person I wanted to rent from cancelled - not her fault, a personal issue came up last min.
I like the concept of the website, really good idea.

I was hoping to sell my carpet cleaner (having moved to a new house with no carpet just my luck) haha. Luckily I was directed to the fat lama website and I read a Daily Mail article about em earlier this year which was pretty motivating, have so far had 3 rentals on it. Not the hugest earner but has paid for a quarter of the cost so far and the people who rented from me were so pleased with the results, sharing is caring guys!!

Was wanting to rent a projector for at-home cinema event with my flatmates. Found the perfect one around the corner from me and also a lot cheaper than the rental shops in my area.

But once I'd paid for it, they then asked for my ID! No way, sorry but I'm so scared to hand over my ID just for a projector. Pretty devastating in the end as I had to cancel the film night 😭

Friccckin good 1st experience using Fat Lama to rent out... wait for it, a Stormtrooper outfit. Yes, that's right, i rented out a proper replica Stormtrooper outfit from the Star Wars movies for a fancy dress party at the weekend. The fact that I could rent such an obscure item gives these people 5 stars from me any day of the week!

As if im going to rent my stuff out to a stranger! Sod that i wouldnt rent anything to anyone its mental, incase they just take it! Also i got that text from the number ending in 223 saying they want to rent my nintendo mini that i posted on gumtree! No thanks fat lama sounds like the most mental idea ever! Here take my stuff and never come back with it - phat!

Long story short i was running an event last night in dalston and my friend whos decks we were using got locked out his flat meaning the we had no music for the event with only four hours to spare on a friday evening with no rental shops open.. my other friend sais try fat lama and i was like whaaa is that... so low and behold i panic called up and within 30 mins they found me some cdj 900's and allen and heath xone 92... i contacted the owner who said he would deliver them to the event venue for a tenner plus the rent cost of course... within an hour we had decks and the event went perfect..life savers all round

Dreamy process from beginning to end. I would like to thank the lender Tom as well who was sooo helpful with advice on his camera equipment.

hired out my decks was all good made some cash 1 time 2nd time my decks got robbed took a month to even get anywhere close to beig reimbursed then whe i do get reimbursed i have to downgrade my equipment as they only paid what i paid and i got my eecks on sale if i was to buy he same set up again i would need to stump up 400 ish quid and only making 120 ish on fatlama means i am 300 quid short and fat lama have not even responded to my complaint atall not even aknowledged it so f#*# fat lama dont put your stuff on their if you got a good deal cuz if you cant get it again you lose out

All in all, I've had three good experiences with Fat lama. To begin, I first signed up because someone on gumtree asked me to rent my canon 5d. I've since rented it out twice earning me in total £128 in just two weeks! Second to this, my lens cap had was not returned by the 2nd borrower!! I called fat lama and a delightful member of their customer support team reassured me it will be fine and I will be reimbursed. The money was in my account only 5 days after I told them of my issue. Lastly, I've been thinking about buying a new lens for my camera. I've put in a request from a man who seems lovely who sent me a promo code for 30% off - yes that's right 30% OFF!!

I feel bad really for not giving a 5* review, but I struggled slightly with the site at first because technology does not agree with me. Other than this, I am now a firm member of the lama clan and will continue to be for the foreseeable future!
