Took money in july for a game which was not shown as a pre order, several emails to say this item would be delivered yet now saying its a pre order.
refund has been requested several times and company refusing to give the money back for goods they can not supply

Bought a electric scooter from Fat Llama, very happy with the service, I had a problem with the delivery and they sorted out very quickly.
Definitely will use their services again!!

I wish I never used this company. You cannot actually speak to any one about your order, the chat is inconsistent and the few minutes to reply turns into 20! I ordered Bose headset, I did not get the code to track within 5 days so tried to call and got an automatise answer so I started a chat which was slow and frustrating with no real resolution. I got an email just now to say the item should be with me at the end of next week so that will be 20 days from the date I paid for them. I am really worried if the headphones have a problem as I dread trying to get this sorted out. I just want my money back so I can start again with a good company. Should have read all the reviews.

These guys are spammers who text your mobile number if they find you have adverts for sale online. Every message I've received from them is about renting items with them from an ad they've seen on another website.

I haven't opted in to any text communication from them nor do I want to rent things with them but they just spam away. Reporting them to the ICO as they seem dodgy as hell because of this.

honestly, I've never had a problem with fat llama once from being a person hiring to renting my gear out. if I had a problem or the person who I want to hire things from doesn't reply I just contact the staff members and they will find out for you.
As you are renting out from the general public you may get one or two bad experiences from them but that's nothing to do with fat llama as when you are signing up for the first time they ask you for proof of ID and they ask you to hold your ID in a certain way to know its really you. i just don't get why everyone is slating Fat llama if it was a hire company like the other ones i know of then, yes i would understand but as fat llama is made up of the general public rather then just one company renting out new and in high quality every time gear that cant be conpaired to this web site. all in all i will always come back to fat llama

Here is my story. I heard about fatllama when my bass guitar amp broke and we were having a gig next day. That is how i rented on fatllama 1st item getting £25 welcome bonus from someone's referral (now it is £20 which is still cool). Since then i petty often rent things when i need instead of buying them. Of course main thing is to return the item in same condition as it was considering that light usage marks is normal things. Hey but who has to be responsible if item is damaged at your fault. When you rent a car and crash it who pays? You know the answer. And that is normal.

Now i became borrower of few of my items that were uselessly taking space in my house. And to be honest it is really amazing experience.
Fatllama have super supportive customer service.

And everyone who borrowed items from me did their best so far to take care of my items.

So if you have something that you can rent out, or you need to shoot a video with £3k camera and £1k drone, or you go camping and need a £500 tent for once in a year.
Then Fatllama is the best solution

My details were harvested.from Gumtree by Hannah who said she was from Fat Llama.She said they were setting up a new buy and sell listings and she could list my camping gear for free. Wel then I started getting texts asking me if Ibwanted to rent camping gear from fat llama. Complained no joy. Text back no joy. Finally i phoned and spoke to someone and they said they would investigate the issue. Aside from all the scams I've had to contend with on Gumtres I am not happy to be scammed or spammed by another company. Won't be recommending either of these two companies

Tell you what fat llama... why don't you buy my goods... then YOU rent them out!!

Fat Llama is a scam. They do not have insurance in place. If something is damaged they will either not pay out for it, or try to force the borrower to pay for it- that's after they try and make you claim on your own insurance!

My RED suffered £1700 of damage, and even with proof of lack of damage prior to rental, they wouldn't pay. The whole ordeal has been a major headache, and not once have they been able to provide proof of an insurance policy. After my problems I came account countless other people who have encountered similar issues.

Avoid Fat Llama, it's not worth it!

In theory great idea, but be sure that you understand that you are ENTIRELY liable as a borrower. If you get a default product and don't have specific proof you are still liable, there is absolutely no insurance or safety net for the borrower.
The resolutions team is basically just a mediator between the lender and the borrower.
On the upside, everyone from the customer service was really nice and friendly and they responded quickly in the live chat

Fatllama harvested my mobile number from Gumtree to SPAM their services. Because I know people who've used their service (wrong word for their terrible customer unfriendly treatment) I replied to the text to stop spamming me, but Fatllama ignored it.
What's clear from browsing these reviews is that, in spite of Trustpilot cleaning out lots of Fake Reviews by Fatllama, they are still doing it - most of the 5* reviews are clearly fake.

DO NOT RENT FROM fatllama.com! This webstite do not have any insurance for the lender or the borrower. God forbid something happens to the item you are fully responsible for it. If you cannot afford it they will threaten you with the cops, debit collector, Nonstop email, phone calls , court , delete your Facebook and Instagram, even calling your job to get you fired, they show up in front of your house taking pictures and sending it back to you. Come on fat lime stalking and threatened in every way! What' next my life? As you can see this is a desperate company from London with no license or insurance they can void all the threats just by having insurance to protect the lender and the borrower. As you can see the reviews here are terrible so don't Rent or lend from fatllama they should be shut down!! It's not worth the risk!

This site is sketchy. I rented out my drone and never got it back, then I saw it on ebay a week later for sale. Really not worth the trouble of renting out your gear on here. Customer service was pretty unhelpful so now it's pretty much me dealing with the police trying to get my stuff back. Don't rent here, not worth the risk or hassle.

I’ve only used the service once to rent a gimbal for camerawork, but it worked perfectly for me. Very good communication with the renter, easy to use service. I spoke to the renter about risks of renting out gear, and he told me that once a renter had stolen a set of lenses from him, but within weeks Fat Lama had replaced them for him. So I guess the insurance is real and it seems to be working.

God forbid anything goes wrong with your rental.
I'm having a terrible experience, I've had all my equipment robbed (Laptop, Hard drives, Atomos recorder and a rental from FatLama)
They've been taking money from the card I paid for the rental without my permission leaving me broke and unable to pay for food and rent.
They are now taking me to court even after the fact that I have a crime reference number and no means to pay for the item stolen in my current state due to having no equipment to carry out anymore jobs.
I'm not been bombarded with emails to set up payment plans that I cannot adhere too due to my financial situation, I've had to open up my bank accounts to them to prove this and yet they still are asking for way to much money.

Awful experience and customer service. I was renting out my camera gear on fat lama and had someone return an expensive piece of equipment late and damaged. I contacted fatlama straight away and spent weeks emailing and calling back and forth. At no point was I ever offered a replacement piece of equipment or even credit to rent a replacement using their platform! I lost a good amount of work due to that damaged piece of equipment. After being mislead and manipulated by fatlama staff into believing my equipment would be repaired, I was told that my case had been closed and my account deleted. It seems that fatlama’s insurance did not want to pay out and now I’m left with a broken camera gear which is very expensive to repair.

I have lent my camera out 3 times, 2 of the times were easy and went absolutely fine.

The 3rd person who hired my equipment didn't keep to the arrangement, and didn't tell me that she couldn't get it back to me on time. I ended up not getting my equipment back until a week later, and had to travel to Gatwick to pick it up.

I gave 1 star and expressed why I was annoyed, she got in contact and said is there anyway you can change the review, she kept on even though I was in the right. I ended up caving in as I can't deal with the negativity. I asked Denise from Fatlama to give her 3 stars and to delete my comment.

Anyway 2 months later the review hadn't been changed! Fatlama got in contact with me and said that the girl had been in contact and asked why the review hadn't been changed as it hadn't. Fatlama called me and asked what happened, I said blah blah blah. They called me back about an hour later and said we've put in late fees and she will have to pay for 5 days hire. A week went by to calls and messages from the girl up in arms about it all. Fatlama called me and said, do you want me to take the money off of her? I couldn't deal with the stress so I said no. This company is a joke, they should have paid out of their own money.

Why didn't you change the review like you said you would, Fatlama?

Just had a very bad experience with Fat Lama or Fat Llama? Which one is it?

How does Trust Pilot allow them to have 2 profiles? They have one for Fat Lama and another one with loads of fake reviews with Fat Llama. What a joke!

It's all good until someone breaks your rental item and fat lama won't pay out unless you get the user to sign to say they will pay for it and then fat lama bill them for it! Maybe renting items is a good bet but i strongly advise peolle not to rent items themselves if they are expensive to replace or repair. It's a bit of a con tbh.
