This is my third review. I ordered a dress July 9 and it still has not arrived on October 15. I get courteous answers to my reviews but none give any real information or offer to help. I believe at this point that his business is truly a scam!

WATCH OUT!
I ordered a sundress from an ad in The New York Times last June. The store was supposed to be called Carol and Margaret. I received the dress, but it was of such cheap fabric, I immediately wanted to send it back. I had trouble finding out how to contact them, but finally did and received a return form with an address in China!

I followed all their directions which included having to take a photo of it and then I sent it back in the original plastic and outer wrapping.

I have never received a credit for the $63.90!

I tried to contact The New York Times to report this so they wouldn’t use them as advertisers, but I was told I couldn’t do that when I called The Times! I thought they would want to know.. But I guess not!

This is a scam company. I ordered a dress and a blouse. They both arrived made of a much cheaper fabric than described. They say they allow returns, but I emailed several times. It turns out here are multiple companies using the same MO to scam people.
Because I thought they were a USA company I believed they were legit. They say all the things that make you feel comfortable purchasing from them. But when the merchandise arrives it is not linen , cotton, Chiffon, etc. it is a really cheap synthetic fabric, the seams are irregular , the sizing is incorrect, the fit on both the pieces I ordered were way off. I asked for a Refund and after numerous emails where they kept offering me a discount and I could keep the items. I kept replying No and stated I just wanted to Return for a Refund.
They said my purchase was "final sale." Nowhere on their Carol & Margaret Website does it state that the two items I purchased were Final Sale. I followed their Return/Refund policy to the letter . I'm still fighting with them. Don't trust this company and DON"T get Scammed!!!! Set

I ordered a shoe from this company. It was far too small, and smelled strongly of chemicals. I travel for work, so I could not return the shoes in the mandatory return time. I am used to that, and I would rather eat the cost than to go through the struggle with customer service.
However, please beware. The shoes were cheaply made, not accurately sized, smelled of chemicals, and not orthopedic in any stretch of the imagination.

The blouse I ordered had a horrible fabric and arrived so crinkled up, it was as if someone had rolled it into a ball and sat on it for a week. When I tried to return it, I got a total runaround. At some point they offered a tiny refund with a % off my next purchase. When I refused, they upped the offer, and I refused again and they upped the offer again. The blouse is the worst-made item I have ever ordered in my life. If this isn't a scam outfit, I don't know what is.

Disappointed is an understatement.... Not only did I cancel the order, which supposedly was cancelled successfully, I still have not received the credit back to my card. I have been in contact with my card company and they are prepared to dispute the refund but to even have to go through this is ridiculous. SCAM comes to mind......

The shoes I received were such poor quality the company would not return. Shoes were so ugly compared to the picture and uncomfortable. Shoes went in the trash. Complete garbage!

Total Scam. Stay Away!
Purchased a “lightweight cotton “ dress and two “linen” blouses as described on the web site. Was sent a dress labeled “100 % Polyesther” and the blouses were not linen. Contacted the company and they refused refund because of my buyer’s remorse as they stated. Apparently they are representing one thing and selling something terrribly inferior. Price to return to China was exhorbitant. A total rip off

This company is complete scam. They are a Chinese company pretending to be a North Carolina company. You will be unable to return any items you purchase from them, despite their pledge of "hassle free returns." All items must be shipped directly back to China at substantial cost to you--more than the cost of the item. Be warned, this is a fraudulent operation.

Absolutely a total scam. You will receive your order, but it will be poor quality and the sizing is unpredictable. I ordered three items, all Large. One dress fit like a size medium and the other fit like a size extra-large, yet both were packaged as Large. They are all poor quality and the dresses have no zippers or fasteners. They are made in China and have to be returned to China for a hefty fee! I tried to return my items to test what happens. My items got stuck in China's customs and the company will not refund me. Just Don't Buy from this scam online store.

I ordered two dresses back in May. It took at least 3 weeks for delivery. The dresses didn't fit and the quality was very poor. Tried to return them and was told that it would cost me more to return (back to China). Therefore, I was told that I should keep them and the company would refund me 20% of the purchase price. To date (9/3), I have not received a refund. I have communicated with them numerous times and get an AI response that they are working on it. I believe that Carol & Margaret do not intend to refund me and will continue to blow me off. The only positive thing that they did was communicate. I have informed the BBB of the incident, next I will take it to my credit card company and then, social media. My advise - stay away from Carol & Margaret they're a scam operation.

I should have known better. Item shipping took forever. When it arrived it was much lower quality than expected and looked cheap. I didn't try to return it because of the convoluted process they set up. Bad Bad Bad

I ordered two items on July 8, but as of August 27, I still haven’t received my order. It has been nearly two months. I contacted customer service and had multiple conversations with them. However, I am now receiving an auto bounce back reply stating, ‘the email account that you tried to reach does not exist’. Is this website a fraud? Do I need to report them?

Please do not order anything from this company. They do not back their products. The company is really based out of China. The quality is poor!

You need to pay to return your items only after they agree to take the item back. I tried to return a dress on 6/11/26 it cost $32.00 to ship to China. I am STILL waiting for my refund.

I tried to contact the company to ask why I haven't received my refund. I have received no response!

Very disappointing experience. I only wish I researched the company better before I purchased.

The website is very deceiving. The website gives the impression that the company is a based in the US. However, if you read the fine print, you will see they are not.

BEWARE!

AVOID THIS SHAM BUSINESS!!! If I could give it zero stars, I would. The company presents itself online as a boutique store in North Carolina, run "Carol" and "Margaret." But the company has NO connection to NC or any women who live there. It's all designed to deceive you out of your money. The clothes are shipped from China, and are atrocious! UGLY AND CHEAP. What's more, their "easy" return policy is a TOTAL LIE. There is NO support from "customer support." I paid to mail back their horrendous clothes to China, after an extremely complicated process. Weeks later, I have yet to see my refund. And despite repeated emails, they have gone silent and are ignoring my emails. Please learn from my mistake-- do not give this company a penny of your money.

As promised I would follow up when I received the item. I had ordered a cotton dress - what arrived was some kind of strectchy rough rubber type of material that, just my opinion, was flamable.
I also put this in dispute and after the merchant told my CC company I hadn't returned it before I received it, I won my dispute - BBB has a scam alert site - please if you have had this experience, report it there. - FYI - the PR person of this company will respond to my post with a bunch of word salad.

I strongly recommend avoiding this company. The fabric is nothing like what was advertised. It is cheap, poor-quality polyester that is extremely hot and uncomfortable to wear. The order took weeks to arrive, and when it finally did, an item was missing.
Their customer service and return policy are even worse. When I tried to return an item, instead of providing a reasonable refund, they offered me a ridiculous 10% of what I paid. That is not what I consider an acceptable return policy.
I found very similar items on Temu for a fraction of the price. I see absolutely no reason to pay this company's inflated prices for inferior merchandise and then deal with such an unreasonable return policy.

Poor quality, slow shipping, missing merchandise, and terrible customer service. Save your money and shop elsewhere.

Great personal customer service. I never felt like I was communicating with a bot. The quality of the dress I bought was fine and the price was very reasonable.

Completely bogus! the website paints an entirely different picture of the clothing than what it actually is. Worst company I have ever dealt with. Deceitful in every way. I am out a lot of money. I will also be embarrassed to even donate the clothing . None of it fit. Terrible fabric. Their address is a main address for a mall in North Carolina. So actually no address in the US. Returns are to be sent to some unknown address AT THE CUSTOMERS expense. I learned a valuable lesson. Sad that there are so many crooks in the world. No respect for humanity!

They would not take back their cheap clothing! Making it hard to send back. The plastic material, misleading pictures, the buttons are even printed on the fabric. They are a scam company getting their clothes from cheap foreign companies. Returns are almost impossible, Sending it back to: 4th floor, factory building, Guangfuling intelligent science and innovation park, zinbao 3rd street, Dalang Town, Dongguan City, Guangdong provincemark (costs more than you paid for the cheap clothes) if you can get an authorization!
Do yourself a favor and do not order from this fake store front from another country.
