TOBY CARVERY, CAMARTHAN...
Had booked my table for (26/12/2024),as we were going to be only 2..Found that the carvery were still taking bookings (there were about ten placings available still), so i booked a table for 2...Put in the special requirements that i use a rollator (walker) for my mobility..Booking accepted AND deposit taken, no problem..I was phoned today ,by the most abrupt woman,(management, i guess) who informed me that NO, they could not accomadate me , as they could not "find" a table that would suit(???), but they would keep my deposit, just in case i made another booking...(?????)..So if you have mobility issues...GO SOMEWHERE ELSE...!!!!!

When we arrived we were seated and drinks orders taken quicky. My dad and I both had carvery which we enjoyed immensely! I had the bottomless coke which I love! My Dad had a cup of tea. He gets a little confused and the lady serving in the red jumper was extremely patient with him despite how busy she was. This same lady served me last time when I came for a ladies lunch and she's a huge assest. Nothing is too much trouble so thank you 😊 Whilst we were there a gentleman Sat near us took poorly. The staff dealt with the whole situation extremely well. They were able to still make sure customers were still comfortable at the same time as showing great help and care to somone in need. Thank you to all the staff for always making such a great environment for customers with great food. I hope you all have the great Christmas you deserve 🎄

I'm still in a state of shock at just how dreadful our visit was to Toby Carvery near to Beckenham.

The food was absolutely disgusting. I had beef which was the fattiest cut of beef I've ever been served before. Literally every bite I had to discreetly remove so as to not alarm neighbouring tables.

A Yorkshire pudding, pre bought of course, stone cold and zero flavour. I could have been eating an egg carton and I wouldn't have been able to tell the difference.

A truly horrible visit never to be repeated.

Poor service, poor management.
Stopped for breakfast before a shopping trip. Booked a table, waited to be seated. Walk ins accepted. Queue was snaked around the queue section. People waiting for eggs, after 10 mins the eggs came out. People then waited for bacon, the manager announced that the food would be 20 mins as there was kitchen staff sickness.
Why take walk ins if you’re short staffed!
Not even a sorry, we wasted an hour as we walked out, this was a pre shopping treat that started the day off poorly.
1. Replenish the food to keep the queue moving, simple job of looking at what is low and how long the queue is.
2. Don’t take walk ins if you’re understaffed, honour the bookings.
3. Customer service skills, how to explain a situation to people politely.
4. Management skills of how to deal with situations, not shouting across a restaurant.
5. Don’t mention the word sickness in a food establishment. Use other words such as short staffed.
Apparently staff training will be given, surely all staff should be trained in hospitality/catering during induction.

Today 4/12/24 1 had lunch at Buckhurst Hill. The Turkey was undercooked with blood running out. The beef full of grisle.the potatoes could have been yesterday's. The person carving bad tempered,no eye contact.awful. couldn't eat the food.

Staff welcoming, polite, friendly and efficient. Attentive but not overwhelming. Unfortunately the food was poor overall. I chose the gammon, but it was obviously not prepared properly as it was very, very salty and inedible. The turkey was ok, but carved in ragged small bits rather than slices. The vegetables were unappetizing, having just been kept 'warm' not hot, and the trays virtually empty. The mashed potatoes were lumpy and pretty tasteless. Similarly the red cabbage was tasteless. The parsnips were hard, being under cooked. However, the peas had been over boiled and were hard and crinkly. The 'sprouts' were dreadful - obviously out of a frozen packet. The Yorkshire puddings are ridiculously large. I doubt I will eat at this Braintree branch ever again. When asked by my server if 'everything was alright', I declined to complain in front of other customers and put her on the spot, as her level of service was excellent.

I stayed in Blackpool last week and ordered delivery to local holiday park and unfortunately not all the food arrived and I was given a sticker on the bag that said I’m very sorry there is no mash potato available….
I wasn’t particular happy, but never mind they did give me extra veg which was red cabbage, and sprouts so I made the best of a bad deal…
Here we are a week later I am back in the same holiday home no mash no potatoes and only one Yorkshire pudding for two meals… No extra nice veg such as cabbage or sprouts to balance it out nothing!
So £40 I’ve spent and not had two decent meals in 8 And so I’ve had to ring and place a complaint!
To have your staff member on the phone tonight, tell me that you need a machine from Germany to fix your mash potato problem is taking the app absolute Mick!!!!!
Was this my local local Toby Carvery? This would not have stood and the staff would’ve solved the problem. Just because some of us are here on holiday does not mean our standards have dropped.
I gave you a huge second chance tonight and you have let me down and cost me more money

So I visited Toby Southend with my grandchildren , the food was ok , the new dumpling were delicious, the lady who looked after us, was friendly she had time to chat made my grandchildren feel special, lynn @ Southend bells Toby 5 stars.

The food quality was disappointing, everything was either bland or hard as rock. Another disappointment was, they are discontinuing their potato gratin, that was the only thing, that was worth eating. There was hardly any meat on our portions, nothing but fat! Disgrace for the price!
I asked for a table that was near a window, as it was incredibly hot. They gave us a table, that is secluded from the whole restaurant, no air conditioning and no windows. Won’t be coming back again, very sad as I used to enjoy coming here.
I wouldn’t even give it to my pet dog.

After writing a bad review yesterday, I was contacted by the assistant manager who was very apologetic and the issue has been resolved. I am pleased this has happened as a large family we enjoy going for either breakfast or dinner. And the food is good. So thank you Toby.

Very disappointed with the quality of some of the food. We dined at 5 pm. Some vegetables had clearly been out on display for quite some time as they were dry and we found inedible. Chef put the last two sausages which were very clearly dried up on to my son’s plate. Should have quite clearly put them into the bin rather than on his plate. Gammon was very salty. Mashed potatoes should be creamy and fluffy. The mashed potatoes were dense and grey looking, and both sets of roast potatoes were very dried out. One potato I cut into was black inside. I swapped deserts with My grandson as he wanted a larger dessert. The small dessert bowl was chipped in two places I had thought at first it was ice cream on the rim. Very clearly attention to detail is needed from the chef to the waiting staff. I would not have expected some of the vegetables and also the macaroni cheese to be so dried out at 5 pm. Staff need to be checking that this isn’t happening. With the cost of living being what it is to dine out for us as a family of 8 is a treat. This certainly wasn’t. Disappointed and we won’t be returning

Lovely lunch at Toby Carvery, Whitewebb's, Enfield. The turkey was delicious and range of veg. Was absolutely full so no need for seconds. Good customer service.

Went to the Toby in Bridgend on Saturday September 28th. Paid £7.49 and was rewarded with black pudding and pancakes amongst the usual breakfast items. Great value for what I had. Used to be a regular until I moved to Swansea where I now go. Recommend to everyone who is looking for a slap up breakfast at a decent price

Visited the refurbished Langley Toby - very disappointed. Lamb was tough ( had trouble chewing it) Yorkshire's had shrunk to a fraction of what they were. As to the veg - only peas carrots and pasta. Roast spuds only thing that made it.

When to Toby Ipswich a few days ago and wow what an experience! Staff were lovely and attentive and food was excellent! Will definitely be coming back for more!

Went to toby carvery Doncaster edenthorpe one word superb went for pre birthday lunch for wife and wife’s mother the staff and chef were warm and welcoming never been before the veg and meat superb and fresh and hot the wife is vegetarian and could not believe vegetarian gravy !!!!! What a fantastic idea! Yorkshire puddings wow and the turkey and gammon moist and fresh ! We’re going tomorrow for my wife’s birthday again thank you will recommend to all friends and family and the price very very good kind regards from my wife Vanessa wilby again fantastic!!!!! Best lunch in a long time
