The worst delivery meal Ive ever had
Just had the worst delivery of a carvery meal from Toby carvery Romford the brewery. Ordered for my husbands birthday two roast meals with 4 meats and the extras, plus sides of cheesy mushrooms and mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was missing only one yorkshire pudding, the cauliflower cheese consisted of one stalk of cauliflower the beef on one of the dinners was just a lump of fat and gristle cut off the end of a joint. no Gammon on one of the meals the roast potatoes were cold, hard and waxy, the gravy was thick and lumpy.. the whole meal tasted stale ..we probably got the leftovers that had been out on show all day.. worst meal ever. Yes I have let Just eat know and checking their reviews Im not the only one. Paid almost £50 for this rubbish .. never again !

I will never visit another Tony Carvary after learning of the felling of the 500 year old oak tree on the pretence it was diseased. Funny how the local council has inspected the tree recently and had given it a clean bill of health. Shame on you. !! B

NOT INPRESSED
Went to toby at Northbourne Bournemouth today for breakfast, not impressed as we sat down to have are breakfast someone was behind the food bar drilling holes in the floor, all the food was uncovered so the dust from the drill could get into food, the drilling was so loud we could not speak to each other due noise this charred on for at least half an hour, surely this type of work should be done when they are closed. Not impressed
Breakfast at Trowbridge was awful
Breakfast at Trowbridge was awful. Choice of 5 fried eggs,all stuck to pan, 6 hash Brown's hard & stuck to pan. Few remaining beans & tomatoes. Bacon & sausage looked o.k. No potato mix or scrambled egg. In fact the people after us had toast!! Choice was abysmal. Haven't been for a while & won't bother again.
Toby Carvery Runwell Essex
Went to Toby Carvery Runwell Essex yesterday for a meal at short notice mid afternoon.
Was looked after my a great waitress called Denise. I have seen her before working in there, always got time to make sure all the customers are happy with their meal. Food was great.... and hot. I will certainly be going there again.
DISAPPOINTING TODAY…
We went for a carvery today at our usual Toby in Hinton. Food was not great today, beef was inedible and hard to eat as it was very fibrous. Potatoes were very dry and cauliflower was well and truly overcooked. Which was very disappointing, as we go here regularly and it has been amazing. We spoke to staff who offered us a discount, but that was not what we wanted.
We just wanted to report the toughness of the beef and overcooked vegetables. Quite a disappointing visit today. Hoping it is a one off, as it is our favourite Toby and has been consistently good, above our expectation foodwise. Lets hope this is a one off!
Staff as usual, are always brilliant, very friendly and helpful.

I went to this restaurant with my friend and her mam, and as I received my yorkshire pudding wrap there was the string that goes around the raw meet in it wich could have been a choking hazard especially to younger children. It was very long and dirty, this is a disgrace! I also found our first waitress very rude and when i complained about the wrap she told me she would go and sort it, she never returned and nothing was done about it. Im glad i saw it or i could possibly be in hospital!
Phone manners
I made a booking on the 20 febuary 25 for a table after i had breakfast for the Thursday night at 1830 . I wanted to cancel my reservation so I rung the booking line and was transferred to the carvery I had booked with which was stoneleigh island Coventry . I was then ask to leave a message which was to leave my contact details and we would get back to you . So I left my details and an hour and half later I still had no return call regarding my phone call. So I sent an email and the reply I got back was sorry we did not get back to you is because we are busy , I had the decency to ring to cancel my reservation you could not be bothered to ring me back , what is the point of asking me for my details and saying we will get back to you , when you fit well know that this is not going to happen totally disrespectful and if this is how you treat your customers I think this stinks , to me it sounds like you don’t give a monkeys I will do my up most to try and speak to someone at your head office if they will answer my phone call , I am not holding my breath for this .
Not good experience
Me and my nanny Went for Breakfast at toby carvery in Gorleston bacon over cooked food cold and rude staff not offered anything else not a good experience all round also customer service was terrible and paid £10 for a breakfast that my Nan didn’t eat

Very disappointing management response
I took my father, who is receiving end-of-life care, with my family to this restaurant. He is an M&B shareholder and had a 20% discount voucher to use with our party of nine. With the stress and difficulty of getting my wheelchair-bound father and my family into this busy restaurant and then having to find somewhere to park, I understandably forgot to present the voucher when ordering our meals. We did not, therefore, benefit from the discount as the manager, Matt, hid behind the terms and conditions. If a voucher is valid, does it matter when it is presented?
Total lack of leadership, customer service, and integrity. I await to hear the attitude of his M&B head office colleagues to his behaviour.

We had a lovely meal at Toby Willerby and our server Judy was brilliant, so friendly and helpful she went the extra mile and made our visit so much more enjoyable, thank you Judy never met you before but you made our night
Wrongful accusations On Saturday 11th Jan 2025
On Saturday 11th Jan 2025, myself and my family attended Toby Carvery in Bath Road Worcester, we have been there many times before so confident to say we are regulars…NOT ANY MORE!!!
This review is based on my own factual comments and the lies by a young female manager with dark hair (she would not give me her name on the phone)
My daughter & her partner & his brother turned up for breakfast today (12th Jan) having decided to go back following yesterdays lunch, they were informed by the said manager that unfortunately they could not be served as yesterday they used counterfeit bank notes and 3 other members of staff had checked cctv and arrived at the exact same decision it was the partner of my daughter and his brother on their cctv. That is the first mistake as my daughter asked to see the cctv and clearly the images were of two other men wearing different clothing and their faces were also visible, the only other matching description was a man wearing a beanie hat!
I questioned the manager that before making a decision then she should have factual evidence, which she failed as a manager to answer and based this on a weak decision for whom she wrongly accused completely the wrong people from the displayed image? This manager does not have the necessary managerial skills to be able to continue in a job that is proving too difficult for her, I asked her for her name and she would not give me her name which demonstrated to me that she was covering up her own errors and bad judgement call.
The second error made by this manager was accusing us of handing over counterfeit money yesterday, we paid by debit card and have a receipt and bank transaction statement to prove how we paid, who paid, & no money was used by family members at all yesterday!!!!
She needs to go as she clearly is unable to carry out correct procedures and protocol, unfortunately for her, I am now in the process of escalating this matter further to higher authority so my family can have an apology direct from this manager, she also kept referring to me on the phone as ‘lovely’ which is condescending as I am older and was insulted by her inflammatory and damaging choice of words used out of context. When I drilled down on these facts she could not confidently give me a valid reason and lied to me on the phone when I also questioned why based on incorrect factual procedures she had reported my family members in question to the police, she said she had not reported them but the counterfeit money, but my daughter said she told them they would be reported to the police if they did not leave the restaurant and they were barred!
Before this happened, my daughters partner had money which they checked it was all ok when they used their counterfeit note checker system, but still made the decision to say they were not welcome even after identifying the cctv was not my family!
I want a complete explanation in writing from head office regarding this incident & apologies from this manager to our faces, I will be seeking legal advice and action regarding wrongful identity & accusations made.
Rude staff ,no food available
Booked a table for 4 several days ago at Toby in Enfield for 7.30pm . Turned up and the manageress said we’ve run out of meat … no apology , no compensation just a moody miserable woman saying tough on you. The restaurant is open until 10pm so how is that possible at 7.30 ? This is the second time we’ve had this happen so not going to be visiting again . What a joke company .
Don’t waste your money or time.
Partner and myself went to Toby Carvery at Sheldon Birmingham. Probably the worst carvery ever. Meat was cold, vegetables not much warmer. Waitress very nice and only charged for vegetable carvery but in reality shouldn’t have charged at all as most of it was left on the plate by both of us. Went home and had something to eat!
Don’t waste your money.
