At lunch time today we called into the Basildon Toby. It was very busy and we didn’t have a reservation. The wait was only a short while before we were seated. Our server,Parris, was very friendly and polite despite the rush. The food was excellent. Beef was superb and every vegetable serving dish was full and fresh.

Toby Caversham 12.30 Tuesday 17 January. The restaurant was cold the food was cold most trays empty roast potatoes cold and undercooked Brussels hard undercooked two gravy dishes empty. This is the worst meal we have ever had in a Toby inn and probably the last. We are regular users of Premier inns, Caversham let the company down.

Arrived early at noon hoping that the food would be fresh and hot. The brussels sprouts were not cooked enough. In fact, none of the food was hot. When we took our food to the table that had been allocated to us, other customers were seated at our table. A disappointing dining experience. I much prefer the Colchester Toby where we ate just a few days earlier and visit regularly.

Awesome quality of food but the staff were amazing. Incredibly friendly and our waitress Kirsty was such a blast. Thank you.

My wife has an allergy. The lady who greeted us went over and above , offering to cook the vegetables separately to ensure no contamination. Brilliant service. I am the be critical, but this was truly exceptional service

Had a meal at 16:45 at the Eastbourne Toby.
Nice choice of food but unfortunately all the food was either Luke warm or cold,even the plates had not been heated

Myself, my 2 adult sons and 2 grandchildren went to the Toby Inn in Chaddesden this morning for 'Breakfast with Santa'. As we arrived the first sitting were just leaving. I had booked this event some weeks ago yet we had to wait while a table was made up for us. There was no explanation as to the order of what to do, when to pay or where. The lady on reception seemed very flustered which didn't encourage us asking her any questions. The breakfast consisted of a good range of foods but the plates were stone cold and the food was only just warm. Some items, such as the black pudding, were dry and inedible. The baked beans were awful and the tomatoes were chopped very small. It's a good thing that children are innocent and 'believe' because while Santa had a good way with them although he was the youngest, slimmest Santa, ever! His assistant was excellent with kids and all adults accompanying them. The so-called gift for each child was 100% the lousiest gift you could imagine. The gift bag which held the gift looked so flat it was as if it were empty. One small chocolate bar and a tiny booklet of puzzles!! 'Breakfast with Santa' is a great idea and the children enjoyed themselves but I will not book at a Toby Inn again.

Visited the Toby Carvery on Hartspring Lane in Watford. Been there many times before and has at times been a bit hit and miss. When they are busy things not so good. Poor service, food not as hot could be. Very disappointed.
Would suggest that as you are very obviously limited in staff numbers, reduce the number of tables you have open. Quality over quantity. When you are not busy you are great.

We booked a table for Christmas Day a few weeks ago and paid the required deposit. Earlier this week I found out I would be unable to attend due to a surgery I need taking place Christmas week. 3 Times its taken me to be able to cancel this table booking (I think its now cancelled but wouldn't surprise me if it hasn't been) as every time you call you are fobbed off and asked to call back again another time, its like they don't want to know that they have an extra table to release for their premium menu date. We have never visited this location but we chose this because of table availability. Safe to say we will either remain using our local one at Hilsea or not bother at all because something so simple is really dragged on when there is no need to do so. It also makes you wonder, if a simple table booking has become so complex then I can only imagine the chaos that may unfold on such a busy day in the restaurant!

Great staff very welcoming asked about allergies and food was great would come again

These guys had lost of the more unusual connectors I was looking for to use with my vintage computer hardware. The connectors and parts I bought were delivered really quickly and very well packaged, and were of excellent quality! Will definitely be using them again in the future!
