Trying to open fixed rate online. The worst I have ever experienced. Keeps on deleting info input, keeps saying not in proper format and just not accepting info input.

Totally impossible to open online and very frustrating after wasting over an hour on this, what should be straight forward and actually work like every other bank account I have opened online.

Very bad.

I was trying to open a 5 year fixed rate saver with this building society, first time working with them, but things are so complicated that I have given up! Opening an account through the post, sending a cheque......... oh my, sorry, no!

Met with a pleasant smile and ask the question. “ How can I help you”. So refreshing to hear that today. Had a complex query and María from Stamford Branch was exceptional in her assistance and advice.

I was immensely impressed by the help I received from Julie in your Stamford office. She took infinite pains to help me sort out my muddle over my accounts and also guide me through the process of re-registering on line which I had neglected to do. I am extremely grateful to her the time and trouble she took to deal with my worries.

I visited the melton building society today to do an isa transfer from another provider . The assistant Ruby who went through the forms and process with me was really helpful . She was very friendly and knowledgable and made sure all the forms were filled in correctly.Nothing was too much trouble . I left feeling I was glad I had chosen the Melton building society on this occasion .

Why is this building society stuck in the 1970's? I am trying to transfer in a very low paying Melton cash Isa to a slightly better fixed rate Melton Isa but they cannot transfer in without a signed piece of paper which has to be posted to them rather than scanned. Other banks and building societies can easily do this online........Its time the Melton Building Society was taken over by an institution that is in the 21st century.....

If you are going to try and call the Melton ensure that you have lots of time to spare and a charged phone.
I have always had good service from the society however recent web changes and delays for answering (if indeed you are answered and not cut off) are intolerable.
You may have “high call” volumes please analyse why and eradicate the root cause or have sufficient staff to cope.

I am already an investor with the Melton Building Society. It was made very easy to open this account by the professional and friendly approach of the society staff. I have since reinvested this account with the society and opened a further account. Both at highly competitive interest rates. Also very pleased with the security arrangements and the scrutiny that these transactions required. No complaints or adverse comments - just praise, praise, praise - especially for the Stamford Lincs Branch staff. Thank you.

Recently visited the Grantham Branch and received friendly professional advice with no pressure (James in particular was extremely helpful) have always found all staff to be friendly and helpful with good communication and providing excellent service

Staff helpful; knowledgeable; great customer service

I use the Stamford branch and prefer to speak face to face rather online. Found staff to be friendly and knowledgeable. I do agree with some comments that online system does seem to be unco-perative at times which is why I prefer to visit the branch. One error is that I did not receive a letter saying that my account had matured and it had moved to lower rate account. The branch said letter had been sent but never received, maybe an email in future would notify customers.
Please keep your branches open as most people do prefer this contact.
