I was given all the information at the right time, in order for me to make the right choice for my circumstances. I would like to thank all the staff at the Liverpool office for their friendly approach and for their professionalism. It's amazing to have my sight back!

I had laser eye surgery at Optimax and I couldn't be happier! After the procedure, my vision is now even better than 20/20. Optimax leeds - great service from first consult to final after care check up. Can’t recommend laser eye surgery enough. The procedure is painless (a little scary) and the recovery is quite intense for the first 6 hours after the surgery but after that it’s easy just put the drops in. Would recommend laser eye surgery to anyone. Optimax Leeds is great. Friendly staff, consultations and surgeon. Brilliant! Thanks guys.

I had both eyes done with EDOF lenses fitted.
The team are very attentive and look after you very well with loads of after care and attention. My daughter and niece have since had it done and we are all very happy.

I recently had LASIK at the Cardiff Optimax clinic. From the initial consultation through to the follow up appointment, the process was well explained, professional and well organised. All of the staff at the Cardiff clinic were welcoming and put me at ease. My patient advisor (Michael) was very helpful and answered any questions I had. I am very pleased with the results.

I’ve wanted to have my eyes done for a long time .I was very reluctant as I was scared at the thought of it .I went for my consultation in Manchester and everything was explained to me what would happen.I opted for lens replacement and chose my own date for the procedure .I travelled to Liverpool on the day .I was taken into the room and the young nurse was lovely .She immediately put me at ease .The procedure was all done within the hour and after a talk about after care I was on my way home .The care I received before and after was second to none .After 12 weeks I was discharged from the clinic after regular checks .The whole experience was fantastic and I would say to anyone thinking about it do it .Its changed my life .No more glasses and my vision is now amazing .Thank you so much

Absolutely fantastic, the team in Belfast were amazing throughout the whole experience! The process was smooth with a very quick recovery and all of the instructions were very clear for aftercare. Grainne, Fiona, Georgia, Dr Damani and all of the team made me feel at ease and were so kind to me.

My first impression was speaking to Iqra when I made my initial call, professional, warm and very informative. My husband had his eyes lasered by Optinax 30 years ago and they were a great success.
I looked at their competition, but going on recommendations, after care and cost I am so glad I made the right decision with choosing Optimax.
Amrit has seen me through the whole process, answering all my questions, explaining my options and recommending the most suitable procedure. Dr Stephenson was calming and reassuring on the day and I felt safe in his hands.

I have been mulling over having eye surgery for a few years and finally went for it. So glad I chose Optimax as they had a clinic in Brighton. From the consultation through to the day of the surgery itself, everything was clearly explained and the staff, who were lovely, really put me at my ease. Even better, after my initial consultation it was advised I only needed one eye to have a lens replaced, as I have mono vision.
The surgeon Mr Wisam Muen was very reassuring throughout the procedure and it really does not take long.
I highly recommend having the procedure - to see so clearly without contact lenses and so sharply and brightly is wonderful.

Had a consultation at Optimax for laser eye surgery, and I was thoroughly impressed with the service. The staff were welcoming, professional, and took the time to answer all my questions. The optometrist was knowledgeable and made me feel at ease about the procedure. The clinic was clean, modern, and well-organized.

I appreciated the detailed explanation of my treatment options and the transparency about the process. I left feeling confident and well-informed about my next steps. Highly recommend Optimax for anyone considering laser eye surgery!
I have booked my surgery for end of July and looking forward to being glasses free.

I'm a 43yr old male who underwent LASEK. I.e. Not the common LASIK procedure most people get I.e. a longer recovery time with LASEK but far less risk. I had a pre-treatment prescription of -0.75 right & -1.25 left SPHERE, -0.25 right & -0.5 left CYLINDER, 15 right & 150 left AXIS. I needed varifocals and I couldn't stand them, constantly using the upper portion.... so I did my research and went to OPTIMAX Manchester in DECEMBER 2024 with the surgery taking place FEBRUARY 26th. They told me I had thin tear film, another indicator that I should opt for LASEK.

Now i have been completely discharged today and my Post treatment prescription is: SPHERE: 'Plano' in both eyes, i.e. ZERO. Cylinder is -0.25 in both, AXIS is 15 right and 150 left.

What I can say is, to me, it is like perfect vision. Optician said I am better than 20/20 vision! I am so happy with the results. I can see car number plates from a massive distance away. Remarkable. Thanks to everyone there and of course Dr Jan Grzeszkowiak the surgeon, not his first rodeo with a calm and professional demeanour with thousands of succesful operations. P.s. with LASEK it is my understanding that there is reduced risk of Halos and starbursts and dryness vs the fast LASIK recovery, the trade off is the longer recovery time to optimal results. For me I was frustrated with myself about 3 weeks in. But about 4.5 weeks in the change was remarkable. Like my brain had flicked some kind of switch in the healing process. So, be patient. The first 24 to 48 hrs was painful / raw with VERY blurred vision. Tears down my face, shutting myself in a dark room. Anesthetic drops didn't help much for me. Just like they said, having your eyes next to onions for 24 to 48hrs. And I couldn't sleep. But, like with any surgery it's painful. Surgery was on a Wednesday and I was cleared to drive Saturday with the LASEK contact lens taken out, but i felt i had to be very cautious driving. I was working back on my laptop come Monday albeit I didn't get the outstanding vision until I was 4 weeks in. Before that it was like my old prescription, car number plates where slightly hazy, BE PATIENT! Follow the aftercare instructions and im sure you will have amazing vision. I dont have any problems whatsoever, only 1 tiny little problem is if I've had alcohol it does feel like when I wake up my eyes can be a little dry, but easily solved by hydrating yourself or eye drops, and it can take a year for the tear system to be perfect again. Its very minor.

The actual surgical experience is fine.... first they use some form of alcohol with what looks like a kids bubble making ring tool close to the eye and they countdown 10 secs or so and they are then able to move the tear film to one side then the Excimer laser goes in... for my right eye the laser was on say 5 seconds? The left eye about 1 second. There is no pain whatsoever until about 1 hr after procedure for me. In comparison to LASIK which uses a laser to cut the tear film and a laser to do the corneal correction.... maybe the cut from the first laser gives the increased risk. So, why don't people just go for LASEK? The extra waiting/recovery time is worth it isn't it? Its your eyes :)

I would advise anyone to do it, as far as my experience goes.... with LASEK.

Couldn’t recommend enough! Had LASEK nearly a month ago at the Glasgow Clinic, and it’s completely changed my life. Staff were so helpful and attentive throughout the whole process.

I had lens surgery at the Glasgow clinic 2 weeks ago and am delighted with the outcome. The surgeon, Mr Saboor, and all the other staff were lovely. Couldn’t praise them highly enough. The surgery itself was over quickly and completely pain free. Highly recommend!

I had been thinking for some time about lens surgery and was worried that the results wouldn’t be what I anticipated. After taking the plunge and deciding to go ahead with refractive lens replacement, my experience from start to finish at Leicester Optimax was superb. The staff at the centre are friendly, knowledgeable and non-persuasive which allowed me to make my own decisions without feeling pressured.

On the day of my surgery everyone was again really nice, I was made to feel at ease. The whole team at the Leicester branch are amazing.

The surgeon, Chris Stephenson is brilliant, really knowledgeable and calming. During the procedure he kept me informed. This made me feel relaxed and calm throughout the procedure.

After the surgery, I was given medications for my eyes clear instructions and follow-up appointments. I was able to see the difference immediately and was advised that this would improve over the next couple of days to a few weeks. However, after a couple of hours at home and a hour nap there was a huge difference to my eyesight and I was amazed that I was able to read without having to squint or adjust the paper distantance.

This surgery has changed my life. I no longer require glasses for reading or distance. I just wish I had of been brave enough to have done this years ago.

My advice for anybody thinking about having this surgery, go for it!

Update - 13/05/25

I have not had any issues or concerns to notify of. I have returned to work, can use computers, notes, write and see at distance without any issues. Not once given my glasses a second thought, actually I did, when I went to push the rim back up on my face but realised I wasn’t wearing any, lol. A habit created over the years that I never noticed! I will post another update after my second check up next week.

I had an amazing experience at Optimax (Belfast)! The staff were incredibly helpful, friendly, and reassuring from start to finish. The surgery itself was quick, smooth, and completely pain-free. I noticed a huge improvement in my vision almost immediately, and now I can see better than I ever have before. A massive thank you to Fiona, Grainne, Dr Damani and the entire Optimax team – I’m beyond grateful. I couldn’t recommend Optimax enough!
