Optimax Leeds are absolutely fantastic. Expertise is second to none and from initial consultation through to the procedure itself was a really positive experience. 100% recommend for lens replacement.

From the moment I walked into Optimax in Liverpool, the experience was second to none. Everyone is so friendly, knowledgeable and excells in what they do, to give great customer satisfaction. Would highly recommend.

I had a really lovely experience at this clinic. Safiya was extremely kind and took the time to explain everything clearly. I really appreciated the care, patience and clarity in the way she communicated. She made me feel welcome, comfortable and confident, which is exactly what you need when preparing for an operation.

Yasmin, the patient advisor, was also very kind and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better.

Because of how reassured I felt, I’ve decided to go ahead with my operation at this clinic. I would definitely recommend it and I will share another update after my procedure.

Attended the Leeds clinic after a ridiculous quote at another provider. The location was modern and clean and staff were all friendly. There was quite a bit of waiting around but doing the procedure in batches is how I assume they keep the prices down.

After talking to the surgeon I decided on LASIK surgery in my dominant eye only to give me the best outcome at all distances (if I had both eyes done I would have needed reading glasses which I was keen to avoid)

Surgery was on the 30th April. Whilst the procedure felt 'wierd' no pain or discomfort, an hour afterwards my eye started to water and felt like it would rubbing your eyes after chopping an onion for an hour or two. Woke up after a quick nap and 4 hrs later was mowing the lawn having forgot all about it with no pain or discomfort since.

If I ever decide to have my other eye done in the future I would be back in a heart beat.

A marvellous surgeon, very professional from the first induction to the next day after surgery. Would highly recommend

6 days post surgery at optimax Newton Abbot and i couldn't be happier. I was amazed at the results immediately when I walked out of the theatre and could read a poster on the wall all be it through what I can only describe as a dense fog. Less than 24 hours later I have better than 20/20 vision, no fog and just a slight visual disturbance in my peripheral vision. 6 days on peripheral vision has resolved and night time halos have significantly reduced. I would never have believed how much this has changed my life, to be glasses free. The staff were all brilliant, professional and knowledgeable. Mr Juan Carlos Morande is a miracle worker and I can't say a big enough thank you. The procedure was quick and pain free with pain free recovery so far.

I only wish I’d had this done sooner!

I had LASIK in December 2025 with Surgeon Juan Carlos Morande at Optimax - Bristol, and my vision has been 1.0 in both eyes ever since. The results have genuinely been life-changing.

The newly refurbished Bristol branch is modern and beautifully designed, creating a really welcoming environment. What truly stood out, though, was the team. Stephy, Harriet, and Carter were absolutely fantastic—always friendly, professional, and incredibly helpful. It was genuinely a pleasure walking in and being greeted by their warm, positive energy each time.

I can’t recommend the clinic highly enough. :)

I attended Optimax in Liverpool for my first consultation in January where I had a number of vision tests and checks carried out, the staff were so friendly and welcoming. I was advised as I had a corneal scar from an eye issue a few years ago caused by contact lenses, that it would be beneficial to meet with the surgeon face to face as he was best placed to advise whether I would need LASIK or LASEK.

I met with Dr Samuel a week or so later who advised LASEK as the scar was too deep for LASIK. Dr Samuel was lovely, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. He provided all information including associated risks and I didn't feel any pressure from him to continue. I decided the benefits for me outweighed the risks so I went ahead and booked my surgery.

On the day of my surgery the staff were all so calm and reassuring, I was slightly worried as I had been told LASEK has a more painful recovery than LASIK but the way it was described was exactly how it felt afterwards. The treatment itself was so quick and painless, the strangest bit was knowing your eye was clamped open but the numbing drops meant I didn't feel a thing. Within an hour or two of returning home my eyes did feel extremely gritty, they were watering constantly and I was very sensitive to light. It felt as if I'd been chopping onions. I would say make sure you follow the aftercare they give you exactly as they say to get the best outcome.

I went back for a check up 3 days later to get my bandage lenses removed and one eye had healed, the other still had a tiny bit of healing to do, but this felt fine by that evening and was fully healed when I returned 7 days later. My vision wasn't great, at the 3 day after care appointment but I kept reminding myself to trust the process.

When I went back 7 days after my surgery I had 20/20 vision, if not better and I honestly can't believe it. I have worn glasses since being in school, I am now almost 36 and I can't explain the freedom of being able to wake up in the morning and not have to immediately put glasses on or contact lenses in. Being able to go swimming with my children and not have impaired vision, not needing prescription sunglasses for running / driving etc. It really is life changing and the best money I have ever spent, I just wish I had the courage to do this 15/20 years ago!

For anyone contemplating it, make an informed decision but I wholeheartedly recommend Optimax in Liverpool!

I still have a few check up appointments to go, and I know one of the possible side effects of LASEK is dry eyes and halo vision but I can honestly say I haven't experienced any of this.

I went to the Leicester clinic about a year ago and Christopher Stephenson carried out my procedure (refractive lens exchange). I had worn glasses since I was 7 as I was short sighted and I had also started to require reading glasses (I was 55 when I had the procedure). The results of the procedure are truly amazing. I can see perfectly in the distance and don't need glasses to read. The results far outweigh what my expectations were. The surgeon was so nice and professional... explaining what was happening all the way through the procedure. I don't often leave reviews but I'm so pleased with the results of the surgery I felt I had to write something!

My contact with Leeds clinic was professional and friendly from the outset. My replacement lens surgery was carried out with care and consideration and follow up appointments were friendly and helpful.

Would definitely recommend — I only wish I’d done it sooner. I went for my first consultation at the Leeds clinic on 4th April and had my treatment on the 23rd, with less than a three-week turnaround.

I've had a quote from another company which was double what i got quoted from Optimax.
I had to have lasek and opted for monovision as I am nearly 40.
From start to finish the team were nothing but excellent. I used the Maidstone clinic. I dealt with Ineta and some of the other ladies in the office a fair bit and they were all absolutely brilliant.
I dealt with the same optician lady,I believe her name is Hugo (although probably not spelled like that sorry). She was so helpful in explaining the different options and treatments,just a wealth of knowledge and so brilliant at what she does.
Dr Damani did the surgery and although it was uncomfortable I could already see better leaving the clinic. The next couple of days were painful, but they gave me a care package to leave clinic with that made it a lot more bearable. It had aftercare notes about pain management, eye shields, eye drops for numbing, eye drops for soothing and eye drops to prevent infection.
I've had quite a few checkups to make sure I was healing properly. They will not sign you off unless they're happy with the result.

Today was my last appointment and I've achieved 20/20 vision. No more lost, broken or fogging up of glasses. I can see so well and far,life has become a lot easier not having to reach for glasses to see.
It was so worth the investment and I'm so pleased I did it.
Optimax have made the process as seamless as possible, making sure you are properly supported for the best possible outcome every step of the way.

Optimax Leeds and the whole team there have been absolutely outstanding. From my first conversation with Sophie on the phone to meeting other members of the team, for example, Tracy and speaking to Claire pre op, I have felt in very professional hands. My first consultation with Bila (optometrist) was very reassuring and I felt able to ask questions. I spoke with Dr Ilango (Consultant) who is extremely experienced and who actually did lens replacement surgery for my sister and brother 10 years ago and they have been so happy with the outcome I could not have gone anywhere else or felt in safer hands. I then met Dr Illango on the day of my surgery and felt very confident with going ahead. Wayne my pre op nurse was very knowledgeable, experienced and approachable, he listened and explained the process for the day. I had two scrub nurses, Lou and another nurse who were both kind and professional. My aftercare has been second to none. I met Joanne in immediate recovery, Wayne was there again and all staff on reception being as excited as I was and comforting. I then had a follow up with Naddir (Optomotrist) 2 days post surgery and again he was so approachable, reassuring and professional. I am now 10 days post op and I have better than 20/20 vision, I am astounded each and every day with the amazing outcome even at such an early stage. It is worth mentioning that I live over an hour from the Leeds clinic and it is well worth travelling for this expertise. I cannot commend Optimax Leeds enough and the whole team, thank you so much for leading me through the initial decision to taking the leap of faith to have lens replacement surgery to both eyes and I am delighted :)

Iv had multifocal lense replacement surgery...i was short sighted with astigmatisms in both eyes which this has corrected now.Optimax have been Fabulous helpful, warm and friendly throughout, and I couldn't recommend them enough...the consultation prior to surgery put me at complete ease with everything, the team were very thorough ..I had a phone consultation with the surgeon( Mr Juan Carlos Morande) who also was very friendly and professional and put me at complete ease about my forthcoming surgery.
Surgery was absolutely fine/ painfree nothing to worry about, I was talked through everything what to expect step by step so that was good and no pain whatsoever ! My vision was blurry right up until the next morning...but that cleared really well within a day ..all the dilation and anaesthetic drops contributed to that but I was told to expect this ..I went 2 days later for a thorough check up ..which went well ...things were explained more ..so its been brilliant aftercare too...I have another appointment in 2 weeks time then 3 months time so I think this is just brilliant aftercare service which is why I decided to go with Optimax and the reviews were impeccable which for me was very important! This has been an amazing journey....I have been a bit tired on and off in the first week but that's to be expected and very normal in the first 2 weeks but no problems ..seeing faint halos round lights but again very normal in the beginning but nothing negative at all...5 stars from me already and iv been told my vision will get even better still ! I'm very happy now ! MANY THANKS

Had Refractive Lens Exchange surgery on both eyes on Weds 15th April having worn glasses or contact lenses for over 45 years for distance clarity.
Within 48 hours at my first post-op check I was cleared to drive and resume golf and all other activities.
From the first web contact to make a ‘suitability’ appointment all interactions have been friendly, courteous and highly professional.
I investigated sight correction surgery 10 years ago but was put off as the staff seemed more like sales-people rather than clinicians but that was not the case this time.
Mr Wisan Muen met me the week before to check previous examination results and run through the replacement lens options, pros, cons and suitability for my lifestyle. On the day of surgery everyone was calm and reassuring giving me confidence of a great outcome.
No pain or discomfort - I hadn’t really believed them when they told me that would be the case!
I’ve got three sets of eye drops required for the next month.
Fantastic outcome in terms of vision clarity and I look forward to returning unused contact lenses and recycling for charity various pairs of, formerly necessary, glasses!

I recently had LASIK at Optimax Leeds, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience from start to finish.

All of the staff were incredible — Sophie, Tracey, and Joanne made such a difference. They were so easy to talk to, incredibly accommodating, and had brilliant banter that immediately put me at ease. From the moment I walked in, everything felt straightforward and well-organised, and they took the time to explain everything thoroughly so I always knew what to expect.

A huge thank you as well to my optometrist Bilal, the surgeon Dr Samual, and the nurse in the laser room (I’m so sorry I can’t remember your name!). They were all fantastic — explaining every step from the very first consultation right through to the surgery itself. That level of communication made me feel completely comfortable and helped me relax during the procedure.

For anyone feeling nervous: it’s honestly not as scary as it looks on social media! The whole process was quick, calm, and far easier than I imagined.

My recovery has been smooth sailing, and the aftercare has been just as wonderful as everything else. I’ve felt supported the entire way through.
