Put £1000 deposit but didn’t want as I see oil leak wasn’t prepared to take as car needing cost repairs possible
But wasn’t aloud deposit back
Which I can understand slightly , but a thousand !
They gave me a credit note which is no good as brought a car else where in the end
So as a “family liked business “
I’d like to be offered at least £500 back
We’ll see
Before I wrote review ,McCarthy cars tried contacting me but i was abroad
They are paying me £500 and & £500 credit towards a car from the forecourt

Efficient, polite great car.

Amazing all round service from a car dealer we will be returning to in the future. They stock a large range of good quality cars, we purchased a car 10 years old and it barely had a mark on it it was thoroughly cleaned and serviced before we collected and we have the peace of mind of a three year RAC warranty including breakdown cover. Steve was super helpful from the test drive right through to collection. Nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be returning customers.

Slightly misleading title but allow me to elaborate.
Having had a horrific experience with a different car dealers recently (currently going through court to get money back) and having to return the replacement due to faults (a second separate dealer) I was somewhat sceptical of trying again.
McCarthy had a great range of cars and several versions of the car I wanted but fearing repeats of previous experience I went through their reviews.
I know any dealer that has been trading that long will have had some negative comments but it is the fact that they address them, answer the customers and seek to resolve that convinced me to try.
When I got there I was allowed to climb in and out of as many vehicles as I wanted with no pressure or expectation from the which was a pleasant novelty.
I started talking to Steve and he was exceptional, nothing was a hassle, no question was unanswered and he genuinely has an interest in cars and getting the right fit for the customer. All of this whilst juggling 3 other people vying for his attention and never once felt like I was a burden to him.
Every possible option was discussed and gone through on its merits and all decisions were left to me to make with no overselling by Steve.
I was told and kept up to date on when the car would be ready for collection following their extensive inspections that they provide before the vehicle is released to the new owner.
A few days after taking the car the engine light did come on, and it was a sensor (its a used car and these things happen) I dropped the car back, unannounced on the Sunday of a bank holiday weekend. They were profoundly apologetic, and assured me it would be inspected by their garage on Tuesday as a priority (closed on Bank Holiday Monday). I was called first thing Tuesday morning to say they had the car and were looking into the issue. A call later that day to say they had identified the part required, ordered it and were on their way to pick it up as that was quicker than waiting for delivery. By midday Wednesday a call to say the part had been fitted and they were conducting a road test to ensure the fix was complete, and then another call to say the car was repaired and ready for collection.
I have never experienced such great care for a customer as by McCarthy cars. Whilst the sale was smooth and thoroughly professional their ability to turn an issue around so quickly was more telling as to their quality than anything else.
For once I bought the dealership and not just the car they had available.
If you are in the market for a car and McCarthy do not have what you want then wait until they do!!

Maria is amazing at what she does best . She made sure everything was put in place to get this car and we love her professionalism . I will choose mccarthy cars any time any day any where because they deliver.

Great customer service. Taken round to see the cars and given time and space to sit in and experience the car. We were taken for a test drive. The rest of the sale was done online. The sales lady facilitated the smooth running of completing all documents, preparing the car, payment and arranging for its delivery. On delivery the driver went through all the necessary documents and the hows of the car. Great service. Satisfied customers.

Great friendly and efficient service

Purchased a lovely Jaguar XE in January. Had a slight problem (Totally my fault) and they rectified it as "All part of the service". Cannot recommend highly enough.

We are returning customers to McCarthy Cars. We are very satisfied with our purchase.
We had a couple outstanding Issues. A revisit, all were taken care off. There was even an after sales follow up call, which I thought was a great touch!

Second hand car salesman often get a well deserved bad rap, particularly when endeavouring to sell a car to women. However, having done my research on McCarthy Cars and then meeting Johnathan, I felt confident in my decision to purchase a car from them. I am not naive enough to not expect a certain amount of sales patter, after all it is a business, but Jonathan was subtle, knowledgeable and not pushy. He knows how to sell that is clear but that is his job and it was my job to make the right decision for me. If you want to feel confident when looking to buy a car, I recommend you pay McCarthy Cars a visit.

Very efficient, friendly service and i had confidence in the product and the service. Everything was explained very clearly and nothing was too much trouble.
