Every time I visit Halfords Woolwich the experience is always 10/10.
Dean and his staff are always the most friendly and helpful no matter how bad a car I bring in. Have been going here for years and will continue to do so.

Staff were uninterested and unhelpful answering basic questions, like how long the work would take. No updates and no answer on the phone after waiting a few hours so we had no idea if to wait or go. No battery available suitable for our car. The check was done but literally just that and we just didn’t feel valued.

Pleasantly Iimpressed
For the last few years I've used the same garage for a service and MOT. A few months ago I had to get a replacement battery and it worked out more cost-effective to pay for Halford's Premium Club membership (the battery was the best deal but without the Club the battery fitting was ludicrously expensive; previously I would definitely have fitted it myself but it was a bit fiddly and more complicated with this car). As part of the Club membership I also got a free MOT, which was due this month. I took advantage of the MOT but was a little apprehensive given it was "free" as part of the Club membership.
I was pleasantly surprised; my car passed with a few "advisories" - mainly as expected - and no attempt to pressurise me into getting extra work done.
To summarise, they were fair, thorough and professional - so I would recommend them.

If you have an MOT with Halfords don’t…
If you have an MOT with Halfords don’t expect them to fix the car as well if the mot fails.
I recently booked and paid for service and mot online 2 weeks in advance, took the car in, 2 hours later they called and said the car is ready for collection. Oh, by the way it failed the mot and you have to take it to another garage cause we don’t have the time to do it here ( Evesham, Worcestershire). Are you serious ?! When you accept a 10 year old car for mot you’d expect some repairs no ?! The manager was rude, didn’t even give me the option, just kept repeating I have to take the car somewhere else as they are fully booked for the next 2 weeks. Absolutely disgusted and appalled by his attitude , I had to find another garage, get it fixed and pay for mot again !!!
Halfords just want the easy money: quick service and mot paid in advance, then off you go. Shocking and totally unexpected customer service from Halfords.

I payed for brake pads for life on two…
I payed for brake pads for life on two vicheals and now they are saying I’ve only payed for brake pads for life on the rear, I said mate think about it why would I only have it on the rear when the fronts have most wear?! I’ve been using Halfords for years. time to find a new garage to look after my vicheals, they have been falling off for a few years now even the staff look fed up, do not go to erdington auto center you will be messed about from not answering the phone to wasting your time.

Never any MOT slots
Ever since Halfords started their premium membership booking an mot has been getting harder and harder. Now every mot slot is booked months in advance. As someone who buys tyres, brakes etc when I get an mot, halfords is losing out on this business. Sorry I now go elsewhere.
