Had a free check as my car was due for mot.

Got my grandad to have a look who said in his opinion there nothing wrong with the tyres and was sure they were all legal.Took the car to a tyre garage where my grandad goes and the boss inspected all 4 tyres and said come back and see us next year.Nothing wrong with them.

They told me it would take 2hours but it took 3
when I went back I asked for a print out of the alignment data which they emailed.
On closer examination I concluded that the data that they had sent me was not for my car even though it contained my registration.
I had the alignment rechecked at Kwikfit which showed misalignment on the front near side .
I have been trying for 2 weeks to seek redress for this issue but they keep closing down my case and just offering to reimburse me for what I payed for the tracking .
I thought a fair recompense would be to reimburse the full bill for the amount of time I have spent dealing with this case and the fact that I have been deliberately misled over the work done If I had not had the work checked elsewhere I probably would not have known that the work had not been carried out. I think this company is absolutely appalling and I will not be paying to have any more work done there. Looking at all the negative comments It makes me wonder why I ever used them before.
Yeovil 'Halfords' Awful Customer service
I just visited Yeovil 'Halfords' on the Houndstone Retail Park. To say the service was awful and i am fuming is an understatement. I Went to pick up a K4 Karcher Pressure washer (20kg in weight). I was given the wrong item, I clearly asked the scruffy member of staff b4 leaving, does that contain the T5 surface cleaner and car cleaning bits, he replied with a sort of an inaudable grunt and walked off. I humped the K4 bulky box to my car, opened it in my car boot, to find, NO CAR or HOME-KIT in said box. I returned to the same scruffy staff member in Halfords (Who incidentaly stunk of B.O.) humping the incorrect 20 kg item and told him my order was incomplete, he walked away from me, out of sight, whilst I was still talking to him, without uttering a word. He then reappears with the correct Karcher K4 + Home-Kit and Car-Kit and placed it on the floor in front of me saying absolutely nothing. He then walked off and starting stacking shelves as if it was a 'job well done'. Not so much as an apology, or even an explanation. His personal hygiene and manners were non existant. I finally humped the correct 20kg Karcher Kit back to my car. I am just thankful that I didnt drive 8 miles home, to then find I had been given the wrong item. Rude, rude, rude service with a stench of B.O.

Just want to post a positive experience with Cameron at the Tamworth store today. I was very stressed as my battery had completely died on my car and he was really reassuring and calmed me right down. He checked the life on it and it came back that there was a negative cell and my battery life was only 9%. He quickly changed my battery for me talking me through the whole process, very chatty and friendly within less than 10 minutes. Would definitely ask for this charming young man again if I was to ever have car issues.

I recently had 2 head light bulbs fitted by Aylesbury halfords £10 each!!...went for mot today and my car failed on the headlight bulbs..THEY WERE FITTED UPSIDE DOWN!!! I bought an electric cycle in July of 2025, on 29 April 2026, the cycle abruptly stopped working with no power output despite the battery being fully charged the same morning. I phoned Halford customer service, shared my problem and said if it was ok to visit the Halford Southend on Sea store on London road on 30 April 10 am. The person on the other end ( name Lulu) said pl go ahead- I gave him 5 for customer service. I ( am 70yrs) cycled manually there only to be told that the technician is on holiday for 3 weeks. I phoned again customer service and shared the incorrect information given to me. The lady kept apologising, then told me that she would give me the nearest store to my location, which she could not despite me waiting on line. Finally I got tired of waiting and told her that she should give me the option to rate her services. she conveniently avoided it. I would have given both 0. The tele customer service is third rate, utterly useless and untrained. The store person told me it would be Raleigh another almost 6 miles.
Halford is very poor when it comes to customer service especially if you have a problem. My advice - buy from any other local store, they will be there when issues occur - big stores like Halford from its customer service frankly couldn't care less.

This company is appalling. They wouldn't sell me a bike at their Twickenham store as they were too busy and they couldn't even cancel an online order within 10 days. Avoid at all costs. Will be shutting down soon
Carrera Luna design fault. An accident waiting to happen
My daughter had an accident on her bike where the chain came off and the bike doesn’t have a guard on the chain sprockets. The sprocket went through the back of her leg and she needed 10+ stitches. These are bikes that they are selling to juniors(my daughter was 11 at the time). To make things worse, customer services fobbed me straight off to their solicitors, which is horrendous and so far from the customer service they should be providing. They have kept my daughters bike for investigation for over 9 months now and I haven’t had a response back for nearly 6 months. You would have thought that the least they could do is fit a guard or replace the bike to one with a guard.
Do not buy the Carrera Luna bike for your child, they are dangerous and clearly have a design floor which Halfords aren’t willing to address.
Halfords have provided the worst customer service I have ever received.

Halfords are DVLA recommended to supply new caravan trailer number plate for travelling in Europe. Halfords use Hills of Birmingham as their supplier. Assistant tried her hardest to order plate with no success.Halfords order form could only cope with 7 digit numbers the trailer plate is 8. She asked the manager for help but he was far too busy so sent another assistant who tried but couldn’t help. I left and rang Hills who are also recommended by DVLA and they explained that yes this was a problem but Halfords needed to put the number in a “Comments” line on the form and they could make the plate. Returned to shop and the assistant again asked the manager for help which he again did nothing other than send another assistant who who equally could not not work out how to order the plate. The final answer came down from the manager via his assistant’s. Give them a letter with all my details and it would be answered in 4 weeks maximum?. This on an order for a plate whose certificate of authority from the DVLA lasts for 5 days. Went home and tried to contact Halfords HQ. Not one of their automated phone numbers had”space” for further messages.
Went into Worcester to GSF car parts. Did the plate on the spot while I waited no problem.. Moral. Don’t bother wasting your time with Halfords. I certainly will not in future.
Bike collection
I came to collect a bike on April 14th for my grandsons birthday. I’m in my 70’s and mobility not brilliant. I’d arranged for a taxi to pick up bike and carry it to my home which is a short drive from Halfords. After 2 taxis said bike was too big for their vehicles I really didn’t know what to do. Lovely Sales assistant who had served me saw what was happening and offered to put it in his car and drive it to my home. I have never been so grateful in my life! He removed front wheel put bike in his car and drove to my home while I drove in front to show him where I live. He brought the correct tools to replace wheel and everything was sorted within a very short time.
While assistant was putting bike in his car I picked up wheel to follow him out when another young assistant stopped me and wouldn’t allow me to carry wheel even though I protested and said I could easily manage it. His words were “ that he would go mad if either his mam or grandma had to carry the wheel and no one helped them”.
Halfords I don’t know where you get your staff but everyone we have had dealings with in your South Shields store have been amazing but these two assistants really went above and beyond to help me. Your manager should be so proud of these young gentleman who made my shopping experience so good. I really can’t explain what brilliant ambassadors they are for your store. They were helpful, caring, supportive and professional but most of all they were extremely kind. Service like this was a pleasure to see and I can never thank them enough especially the young lad who drove the bike home for me.
I apologise for not getting the names of the two lads but assume that you can trace them from the date of pick up and time which was 5.00pm.
Thankyou so much for your helpfulness and kindness. You will never know how much I appreciated you.

I ordered a set of brembo brake pads for delivery , I paid extra for next day delivery, so should have been delivered 10th April, by the 16th April, still no delivery, even though I had sent, 3 email complaints, I then tried calling the customer service number, but unfortunately it must be based in India as I struggled to understand what they were saying, but was basically told that I had to wait for the goods to be delivered before I could get a refund, and I had to take it to a Halfords store to process the refund also I would not get money back for next day delivery charge, it is now 26th April, I have been in to my local Halfords store to complain but was told that they don't have anything to do with online orders, so I called the helpline again, this time I was told that I have to wait until the order is returned by the courier to Halfords, then they will be in touch to sort the refund, absolutely pathetic service, I will never use Halfords for anything ever again, if I could give no stars I would but it doesn't let you !

If I could give them zero I would, I went in for a simple windscreen chip repair. They then cracked the whole screen and refused to repair it, or pay for a new one!

I booked my car in for a full service costing £260. On arrival I was asked if I wanted to pay another £20 as the service only covers 80% of the oil change and for the remaining 20% would be extra. I was absolutely flabbergasted that this upselling is allowed and clearly encouraged by the customer service staff. I was furious. I had the service done and then took all recommendations to another garage which was much cheaper. I will never go to Halfords again. I tried to complain but got no where.

I ordered a 4-wheel alignment at Halfords Fort William. It took almost an hour after the manager's appointment before they even started working on my car.After the repair, the first mechanic very quickly adjusted only the front wheels. When I asked if everything was okay, he answered that everything was okay, but I asked him about the rear wheels, to which he replied that everything was okay. I'd like to point out that the entire front and rear suspension was replaced, and after that, of course, some adjustments were required. It required careful driving, and it was unstable on the road.
And so, after the mechanic assured me that everything was fine, I left the garage and discovered that nothing had changed. I was shocked.I went back and a different mechanic took over the adjustment. This time they almost got it right, but when I got home, I decided to check if everything was okay, and I was shocked again. The nuts weren't tightened on the adjusting bolts, I'm just horrified.I didn't go back; I decided it was dangerous to do repairs in that garage. Be careful and be cautious if you seek help from Halfords.
Chiswick branch not good
Bought a bike there last November and wanted to buy a basket. It looked quite easy to fit, but the repairs guy was telling me it is not! He wanted £8, the basket was £25, I can get that much cheaper online with straps, no fixing, you have to do better, Halfords! Very disappointed.
