Founded in 1976, the shop is currently owned and managed by Ken Costigan and Derek Moody. It's as 100% Irish now as it was guaranteed Irish back then. Since our inception as the Great Outdoors, we have welcomed many adventurers through our doors. People venturing off to the North Pole, Everest and other hard to reach places have all stocked up here before setting off. Others diving in the Red Sea or the Glacial Fjords of Iceland have been equipped through ourselves. Students on J1 visas or Australian work permits have all been looked after before heading off on their travels. No matter how big your adventure, it's still your adventure and we have always strived to make that adventure the best possible one. We hope that anyone who enjoys "the Outdoor Life" will find much to interest them both in our shop and on our site. We have built our reputation on our great brand ranges and the experienced and qualified staff that we employ. All of the staff are outdoors' people and have as much interest in adventure as our customers do.

I recently had a fantastic experience with Great Outdoors. The staff, especially Ian and Nathan, were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. I bought a pair of Hoka Anapacas for a hiking trip, and when I needed to return them due to a fault, the process was smooth and efficient, despite no longer living in Dublin. The return was handled graciously over email. I've also experienced quick delivery, receiving an item almost 24 hours after ordering. The staff are always ready to assist with choosing the right products and resolving any issues, like when I combined a voucher and credit card for my purchase. Overall, their customer service is remarkable. I'll definitely be shopping with Great Outdoors again and highly recommend them to others.

Good deals and great service
Purchased some products from this store for the first time on Black Friday week and got them for a great price. The communication from time of purchase was excellent and the delivery was quick and fully traceable. Would definitely recommend.

Hampton was amazing
My wife and I bought ski boots and skiing helmets in GOD recently and the young man who assisted us was incredible. Very knowledgeable, thoughtful and took his time to explain different things to us. Really appreciate all the help and service Hampton.

I had an issue with my gift card
I had an issue with my gift card, the company had changed their website and my gift card would not work. Customer service (Ben) rang me and sorted the issue within minutes. Well done Ben. I got my order sorted online to my satisfaction.
