Claims department love to hang up on you mid sentence
Today I bought policy. Ash who helped me alot she was very kind and pationt I do appreciate for her help.
This company should get 0 stars. They do not look after their customers. I had a car accident and they didn’t even inform me that my car was written off. They then offered me half the value. They don’t listen or care about their customers. They are happy to take your money at a high rate but do not deliver what they say, no customer care and no support. I am taking them to the financial ombudsman as they tried pushing for a 50/50 and because I refused they put me at fault when it was a clear case that the other party was at fault. They have caused me so much stress emotionally and financially. I asked them to obtain CCTV and they said it’s too costly. 😡
They make it incredibly difficult to cancel/disable autorenew - there should be regulatory rules against this practice! They insist that you call them, spend over half an hour trying to convince you to stay, then say they have to transfer you to another department .. and so on! This is what mobile phone companies used to be like - can't believe the insurance sector is not better regulated than this!
The multi vehicle renewal quote went up almost 65%. No way I will renew with Elephant Insurance.
I strongly suggest no-one ever sign up with these guys my partner's insurance went up from £130 to £230 with no claims the previous year.We expected it to go up due to inflation but this was ridiculous.Customer service is unhelpful and unreliable probably one of the worst customer service experiences I've had in a while. If I could give it a 0 star I definitely would

Elephant must be the worst car insurance company on the market.
After having held a policy with them for last 10 years, with no claim being made, I tried to replace the front bumper due to an incident which was not even my fault.
After 3 hours on the phone and having talked with more than 8 people, I finally came to the conclusion that they are making everything in their power to avoid paying what there are supposed to. Nothing but a scam which I have been paying into for last 10 years.
Awful customer service, embarrising!
Rang on 9th May to remove my brother from overall policy, customer service agent passed me through to another person and the phone call dropped when we were talking.
No phone call back.
I rang again and raised a complaint on a few points:
1. The initial person "cold" transferred me to the next
2. The next person had no empathy and didn't understand my needs as a customer
3. The phone call dropped and I was not given a call back
The person who took the complaint told me that the process is that they do not cold transfer people over and that the initial person should have been able to action my request yet chose to not. She also said if a phone call drops I should get a call back, hence a complaint was raised on these specific three points.
I then get a call on 10th May from the same person who took the complaint to say the complaint is NOT upheld but they are compensating £25.
We debated the topic as I didn't understand how a company can admit compensation should be paid yet not admit a mistake hence uphold a complaint.
The topic got escalated and a "manager" rang me that same day.
The managers call was really embarrising as it was clearly obvious my complaint had not been looked at in detail at all.
There was so many contradictions made along this journey. What I have learnt is Elephant Insurance do the "right" things for the wrong reasons, they bend the rules and processes as they see fit and then they hide behind said rules and processes regardless of whether or not they are morally wrong.
I was given a choice to accept £25 or escalate the complaint some more, it was like a blackmail situation, everything about the experience was bad.
I beleive the people on the phone are good people yet they are governed by horrific processes.
Absolute joke - hiked insurance which was on auto renew , from £450 to £703??? For no reason. called and cancelled auto renew and got the insurance elsewhere for £520 - now had a letter asking for £25 even though it was within 14 days threatening collections department
Mr car was stolen around Oct/Nov. I provided all the required documents within a week to Elephant/Admiral and indeed were interviewed by it feels like a form of private investigator to check our claim. 3 months later after no communications i rang them for the nth time to lets us know when they will be able to make the payment for the claim. They shared they couldnt give a date as they need to check with the police. Its now entering month 6 and i still wait. No communications. A horror show.
Terrible customer service, unreliable breakdown service and extortionate prices what more can I say... Auto renewed whilst I was on holiday and my premium went from £560 upto £1085 I have since re insured with Sheila's wheels for £545 and there is much more included in the basic cover anyway. Wouldn't recommend elephant to anybody.
Went in to this company after seeing they had the cheapest car quote for my 19 year old son. We used the web chat assuming it maybe a longer process but didn’t want to speak to anyone. However I wasn’t expecting a 2 1/2 hour palaver. Without even getting the policy completed. One question after another until we just ended it. This company is a complete waste of time and an absolute joke.
Currently going through a claim with this company for a non fault accident where the other party has admitted liability and the service is appalling. I am constantly chasing them, they don't call back, want me to take my car to a garage with 2 star rating and won't provide a courtesy car that will meet my needs!
If you have any sense you will steer clear! I will definitely not be renewing my insurance with them!
Was with them for 9 years, last two years my insurance has sky rocketed up, they sound more like a call centre now and we are just numbers compared to how it was when I first joined.
Moved company for £15 a month cheaper
Avoid there are other companies that will be cheaper
Had a lorry crash into me in June, the solicitors which Elephant use are Horwich Farrelly which are overloaded. 9 months on and they have not even started looking at the case yet. Avoid and look for a company that can deal with claims quickly.
Just don’t even bother considering this insurance company. They cancelled my policy and didn’t tell me why i didn’t even get an email saying they have cancelled it. just received a letter saying that it cancelled on the 12th it is now the 16th. so i have been driving without insurance for 4 days!!!! absolutely ridiculous service they should just shut their company down.
I'll give 3 stars for insurance during my day's as a learner driver when others wouldn't insurue me, so I have to thank them dor that price are high at the moment but lower than other company's this company should he a budget cost for car insurance, so we should start to see prices going down, customer service is not that great I'm.only giving 3 stars for the fact I got var insurance lower than all the big companies that either wouldn't cover me or wanted to take the .... because I was a learner so 3 stars for that and I have continued to stay with them since then, I do hope my loyalty pays off fir me. If the prices go down I'm sure I will give a 5 star review because I think that's all we really want and need in this day and age.
