Inefficient shipping and communication
It took 12 days for me to receive the majority of my order. 1 item of 5 ordered was received in 6 days. I also didn't receive shipping updates and tracking info was not available. For an online business, Dermstore should be more efficient in both of these aspects of customer service. As the customer I should not have to chase my order or search for tracking info. It was the first time that I had placed an order with Dermstore. I was not impressed.

Had difficulty setting up a profile account, attempted multiple times and finally completed.
The last time I ordered from the Dermstore, received way tooooo many promotional emails daily .

Invasion of privacy
I used Amex to make a purchase and received email requesting I send 3 months of statements and picture ID to verify if I am on the billing of credit card! What nonsense is this??? What if a person is an authorized user?? Also, that’s an invasion of privacy!!

Terrible Customer Service
Terrible customer service. I placed a new order, using a new customer discount, only to remember I intended to order 2 other items as well. I wanted to know if I canceled my order, could I place the larger order and reapply the new customer discount. It was a simple yes or no question.
I had to go through the virtual assistant, which was god awful. She kept asking me for my order details, and despite me copying and pasting my name, order number, address and zip from the receipt, she was unable to verify the order. She kept asking me the same questions over and over and over,... always ending with her stating she will transfer me to an agent. Then she would either just start the process all over or end the conversation. It took 30 minutes to get an agent on the chat. That agent took on average 5 minutes to reply to each message. By the the time I got an answer, it was too late to cancel my order.
Not that I had any intention of canceling without reordering; it was not a big deal if the answer was no. I would have just placed a separate order and ate the loss (after all, it was my mistake) but I not comfortable ordering from a company that can process an order but when I have a question, they can't find that same order (especially, if it's a company I am plan on ordering from on a regular basis). After the poor interaction, I would have canceled all together, but at that time it, obviously, it was too late. So I will eat the lost as an time expensive lesson learned not to work with DermStore.

Good experience so far
This is my first order with dermstore. It was easy to find some good scar gel options for my husband to try out. I found the facial sunscreens I was looking for plus several body sunscreens to try. The free 2-day shipping offer was really nice because I’m out of sunscreen and my husband wants to start use of a scar gel asap to improve the scar on his face left from an unfortunate faceplant on pavement (luckily he’s fine). I’m hoping the order will process & ship quickly. So far my experience has been good.
