Better - Woolwich Waves Recensioni 

The new Woolwich waves centre (that opened in Jan 2026) had refundable £1 lockers in the swim changing room which was great. I had suggested this feature. But now, mid Feb 2026, these have changed to 20p tokens. Members have to use a bank card to buy a token from a machine at the entrance. The token is retained. How is this an improvement? Very unhappy.

Whilst still new a few teething issues....it would be nice if some people using the changing facilities would then use the provided lockers...rather than storing their clothes in the changing rooms....it's selfish to other users. But other than that all good.

I dont like the time in the teaching os wastimg soemtimes as kids not allowing to practise more.
Using same style again n again.

Until the recent transition to Woolwich Waves, during my two years going to Waterfront Leisure 5 days a week, most patrons were disorganized and inconsiderate. There was no conception of individual responsibility and order. They would not pick up after themselves, which meant the person coming after them to deal with their mess if they were to use the space/equipment. A few regulars were consistently on illegal psychoactive drugs. Through no fault of the staff, the weight and functional fitness rooms were consistently a mess, with equipment everywhere else but where it was meant to be. Additionally, it was common occurrence for non-patrons to sneak in or use someone else's membership to get past the gates. The facility was overall well-equipped and a great fitness space for the price, however it was clearly not appreciated by the patrons which detracted from the overall experience for the reasons mentioned before. Do NOT come here if you are looking for a serious workout space that pertains to gym etiquette -- it is meant for the masses, and that is what you will find.

A fantastic centre, enthusiastic and knowledgeable instructors, helpful customer care staff and plenty of cleaners. Only let down by poor Wi-Fi making it hard to get through the entrance barriers.

I was very disappointed with the new pool. I loved waterfront for swim for fitness then jumping in the sauna and jacuzzi Str8 after for 10 to 15 minutes daily. with the new sauna. once a month luxury if that. high prices.No discounted sauna membership for disability benefits. Very cold getting out of pool. Poor layout for entry and exit into pool.

Woolwich waves is a great place. Spacious, clean and welcoming. Plenty of staff although maybe not in the gym a lot of the time. We are happy with the cost of our memberships which suits us. There does seem to have been a mass drive to recruit members because the gym can be so packed you cannot use the equipment you want. The use of the pool by school groups is great except they are given three-quarters of the pool and day time swimmers are squashed in thin lanes, not a great experience. Lockers and toilets plentiful. It might become necessary to return to bookings for sessions but that never worked at the Waterfront.

I have found it good

- Facilities are great. All brand new and with the latest tech machines.
- Classes are also good. Big range of them.
- App is not that friendly. So many clicks to get to your different placing including booking, or to book a class. When you look at Your Waitlist is giving the date when you tried to book instead of the actually class details (date and time of the class).

I’m afraid the gym is always so busy that it’s difficult to have a good workout. Always having to wait for equipment to be freed up. Very expensive gym particularly when just get frustrated with not being able to get a good workout and always worrying about the equipment I need to use being busy

I love the pilates class but it is so difficult to get booked, quite often on waiting list to get booked therefore no continuity in my journey to health and wellbeing, have had to miss so many weeks.....perhaps 6 week courses would work!!

The club is really nice and the staff are great. However, I fix very difficult to book yoga and Pilates classes. It is just a few and are always full.
They should put more yoga classes and different styles of yoga.

The swimming pools are very superb and and nice. The changing rooms and all other facilities are excellent

Inside nice place but family fun place changing rooms is cold as outside water too is to cold not recommend.old one was much better .

Unfortunately, my experience with Jamal, who wears orange glasses, at Woolwich Waves was negative. He came across as rude and unprofessional, and I felt disrespected during the interaction—something I have never experienced before. I hope management addresses this so future customers can have a better experience.

Review of Woolwich Waves

We paid £26.45 for two adults and one child and visited on a Saturday in January for the 12:30–2:00pm session. Overall, it was a fun visit, especially for younger children, but there are a few things to be aware of.

The slides are in a separate section from the main pool, which can feel a bit small when it’s busy. We queued around 10–15 minutes for the slides, which was manageable but something to factor in at peak times. I would have liked access to the larger public swimming pool as part of the session.

The water felt a bit cooler than we’re used to, although it was still fine for a short visit. On the plus side, there are lots of lockers and plenty of changing space, and there were lots of staff around, which was reassuring.

The standout feature is the play area — it’s really good for 2–4 year olds who can’t swim, and our child had a great time there. While we enjoyed the visit, we might wait a while before coming back, mainly due to the crowds and limited space around the slides.

I have recently visited the Woolwich Waves having a monthly membership. I have booked for the swimming and took my daughter to swim with me by purchasing the junior swim fee but they told me She is not allowed to swim with me. To do swim together I have to purchase separate fee so it's really disappointment. So what the point having membership. this reason i don't like to refer this branch to have a membership.

The standard of service and how they assist and attend to people is worth commendation. I watched closely how they help and support people and I am grateful for that.
