Doesn’t do what it says on the tin
I recently purchased Ronseal midnight blue fence paint, and after three coats it’s still nowhere near midnight blue but a dark teal, so very disappointed as we had brought 18 litres.
Their customer service has been very swift with replies and keeping in touch, but unless they can come up with a paint that’s actually blue, we have fences that are now dark teal.
I honestly couldn’t recommend Ronseal as it definitely doesn’t do what it says on the tin.

Ronseals newest generation of pump…
Ronseals newest generation of pump fence sprayers is so poor. I have had one for years but lost it in a move. It required thorough cleaning and good maintenance but if you did that it worked well for a long time. Bought a new one from B&Q and it is terrible. The spray nozzle just doesn't spray well even after extremely thorough cleaning. They have clearly cut the quality of the materials to cheaper their costs but still charge a lot more for a sprayer than is reasonable. Do not buy their sprayers.

For almost £40 I would have expected…
For almost £40 I would have expected the Ronseal pressure sprayer to have lasted more than 3 years. On contacting you to see if you would consider a goodwill replacement I was brushed off with patronising empathy and a refusal. I shall be making every effort to avoid buying any of your products in the future

Water thin paint
I bought this "paint" to use on an arbour. When I opened the tin, i was suprised I had bought not paint but what seemed like coloured water. I did consider returning it but decided it must be ok because it was Ronseal. How wrong i was, 5 coats and many hours later the original wood still showed through and when i wiped some bird's droppings off, the "paint" came off.
How this company is getting away with selling water to the public as paint i dont know. This is the worse paint I've ever used. I obviously won't be using Ronseal again, complete waste of my time and money. I tried to call Ronseal customer service but couldnt get through. They don't care.
Take this as a warning and please don't buy this product or youll be sure to regret it.

Ronseal one coat forest green,not sure how this company is getting away with selling water to the public as paint,the worse paint I've ever used,one coat ? More like 3 still looks patchy,will be surprised if it doesn't need doing again next year obviously won't be using ronseal EVER again,total waste of time and money. UPDATE same reply you send to everyone else shows how much you care about you're customer's,don't bother ill just never buy any of your products again.

They claim 10 years on wood stain, but should be 2 years only, poor poor poor quality product.

I used the Ronseal outdoor furniture…
I used the Ronseal outdoor furniture oil. It completely ruined a new hardwood garden bench. Ronseals answer was that I rub it down and recoil as the original may be past it's user life. That was it,, do not use this company, a crap product with zero customer concern.

I bought a tin of Ronseal wood paint…
I bought a tin of Ronseal wood paint Racing green in a gloss finish, It is the worst paint I have ever used. After 4 coats there are still streaks where it has not covered the previous colour and brush marks, I followed all the instructions, very unhappy with the result, avoid this paint at all costs.

I bought some Ronseal precision brushes…
I bought some Ronseal precision brushes from B and Q.
They were packaged with a plastic hanger but other makes in the shop had cardboard packaging and hangers but the brushes looked inferior quality.
I was horrified when I got home and unpacked them to find the plastic packaging isn't even recyclable.
I can't believe that in 2026 a company like Ronseal couldn't give a damn about the environment and was using non recyclable plastic when I would have expected cardboard packaging for at least the last 10 years on this product.
I also condemn shops like B and Q for selling these items, if B and Q refused to stock items packaged in non recyclable plastic or cardboard, irresponsible companies like Ronseal would have to change.
In answer to the Ronseal reply...
At least 10 years too late. My company went over to cardboard packaging etc in 2010 because of concerns over global warming and plastic waste.
We had the packaging designed, printed and supplied within 2 months.

We have been working hard through the years to increase the sustainability of our products as a whole, including the packaging composition. This includes innovations such as the Ronseal One Coat Shed & Fence Protector Refill Pouch - a concentrated fence stain which delivers 90% less plastic than our standard 5L buckets, commonplace in the market.
We have been working closely with many retailers to identify further opportunities to reduce environmental impact and are pleased to confirm that our Ronseal brush range will be updated later this year and will be produced in cardboard packaging moving forward.
We will continue to innovate and look for ways to further improve the categories that we operate in.

Got Ronseal garage floor paint for my…
Got Ronseal garage floor paint for my garage,followed the instructions to the letter.Cleaned and sealed the floor with Bostik concrete sealer.I then applied 3coats of the paint(which is very easy to apply),allow the appropriate time between each coat. Then I left it for 5 days before driving my cars onto it,it chips very easily,if you drop your car Keys it chips ,if you have a stone stuck in your shoes,it chips ,and the same with stones stuck in your car tyres.Its just not up the job.DO NOT USE THIS PAINT ITS USELESS. I’m now left with trying to clean it all off and using another paint that will work.Ideally you need a 2 pack paint.I I would give it no Stars if I could.

Excellent Customer Relations.
I bought a Ronseal Fence Sprayer two years ago.
It was very easy to use. Towards the end of the first use, the end nozzle seemed to clog and stopped spraying, sending the fence covering out in two diagonal jets.
Despite a thorough cleaning this continued. I didn’t use the sprayer last season but tried again a matter of weeks ago. Unfortunately, there was no change in the nozzle, it still dispensed the liquid in two diagonal jets.
I contacted customer services in the hope that the matter could be rectified without me having to purchase a new sprayer.
There was absolutely no problem. A new nozzle is on its way free of charge.
