We bought 2.5l tin of Ronseal garden paint to paint a garden seat but the consistency is very thin and watery despite lots of stirring , 3 coats not achieved any decent coverage. Contacted ronseal and after an swering multiple questions they deemed it to be down to stirring with a cane which was they say to thin to adequately mix it despite stirring repeatedly for a good amount of time. Rubbish response and no solution despite it being not fit for purpose. I suppose trading standards might be next step.

After preparing the deck with great…
After preparing the deck with great care, with a wire brush, then sweeping and vacuuming ,I used Ronseal oil on an exterior wooden deck, on top of the same product 2 years prior.
The first coat dried in an appropriate time and looked good. The next day I applied a 2 nd coat and it immediately “Fisheyed”
I stopped and called customer service. They initially told me that I waited too long between coats and that I should re sand everything.
It was a dry , mildly sunny day , and with no humidity.
Upon receiving my photos and other information I was informed that my preparation was inadequate, even though the first coat dried beautifully.
I am totally dissatisfied with this product and customer service.
Don’t use this product and certainly don’t expect any help when things don’t work correctly, just poor excuses
I wish that I could include photos of this disaster
I have since read other reviews.
I’m surprised that they are still in business after selling such poor products and getting such negative reviews.
ADDITIONALLY, it appears that all complaints are ignored and passed off as with the same Bull—— , stock response.

Fence life plus
Fence life plus. Very thin with dreadful coverage. Requires two coats on sawn timber but 4 on planed wood, even with a sprayer. Loads of brush marks after two coats and I anticipate four will still look rubbish. It might be cheap, but there's a reason. Don't waste your money!

MIX MILK & WATER & YOU WILL HAVE RONSEAL WOOD PAINT
Used Ronseal wood Paint for my garage doors.Gave up after first small door.Absolutely useless and a complete waste of money It's thin, doesn't cover and I wasted my timed and money so now have gone onto something else.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS. NOT CHEAP BUT DOES NOT DO WHAT IT SAYS ON THE TIN.

Simply the best.
I have been using Ronseal paint for my fence for a good number of years, I wouldn't use anything else. The coverage, the look, the length of time it lasts in between coats is just amazing. I contacted Ronseal recently with a query, I got a reply within a matter of hours, great service. Keep up the good work.

If I could give 0 stars I would, I purchased 2 9ltr tubs of warm stone as I was wanting a warm finish to my fence panels, I have 29 to do and the last thing I wanted was a cool colour especially grey as I lothe the colour and it doesn’t go with the paving in my garden. I get to opening the paint give it a stir and start painting it’s that watery i can not do if by brush so I use a professional sprayer, 4 coats in and it’s as grey as you like. I emailed to complain as I don’t see why I should have to put up with a colour I didn’t want and I was told it was within the range of colour you should expect from this colour. Very annoyed and dissatisfied

Quick informative response
My enquiry was responded to quickly and the reply was relevant to the content. Unfortunately, the product I was trying to locate in a specific colour (Diamond Hard Gloss Floor Paint in Pebblestone) is no longer manufactured by Ronseal but my assumption is, that had it been still in production I would have been informed as to where I could obtain a can in the Bristol. area.

Fence looks like new.
Used Ronseal Timbercare on my fence. Really does do 'what it says on the tin'.
Fence looks as good as new.
Recommendation: Buy a proper brush made for the job. Takes much longer with an ordinary paintbrush.

I have now used 16 different Ronseal…
I have now used 16 different Ronseal Garden Paint colours while making over 450 planters from disused pallets. Some colours like Purple Berry have excellent coverage, but several including Cherry Blossom need 5 or more coats to even hope of getting a satisfactory finish.
Also aggravating is that some colours like Cherry Blossom are only available in 250 or 750ml sizes and not 2.5l which makes the multi-coat requirement even more expensive.
I really hope that these comments will be read and addressed.

Absolute rubbish.Ive given my new fence panels 3 coats and it’s still not covered properly.It certainly doesn’t do what it says on the tin (1 coat)false advertising.

we purchased some sage green decking…
we purchased some sage green decking paint, it came out blue, not a nice blue but a duck egg muted blue. so i did what anybody would do and i made a complaint to ronseal, after several emails and lengthy discussions, photos, proof. they said that blue is within acceptable tolerances to green. have you every heard such utter nonescence!!! i cant believe it, i wont belive it!! blue is not green, no sign of a refund for the paint, just a thank you and kiss my (you know what).

Not what it said on the tin…
Bought some dark grey Ultimate Decking Paint and it turned out to be very light grey. Complained to Ronseal who basically said the shade of paint was consistent with their colour chart and basically said it was my fault because I had previously painted the decking. Funny that the Cuprinol that I used after on the same decking, covered beautifully and was the exact shade advertised.

I had to give it one star because it…
I had to give it one star because it wouldn’t let me do 0 …I have used the same Ronseal one coat tile paint for years , but this tin is terrible, I mixed it well ( but nothing to mix , very watery) left lots of brush streaks , never happened before, I always Rub down well with sand paper..I wish I could put a picture!!!! — Update, well having given it a second coat it’s much better, Although they call it one coat !

I liked… and didn’t like ..
I liked - I got a refund. I didn’t like having to call twice . I didn’t like that you had no call record or information of me speaking to a rep a few days earlier . I didn’t like - even after me explaining Iam a professional and explained how I applied the varnish and no contamination - having used your product over 30 years - you still didn’t want to except the product was at fault - not the user .
So it’s been nearly a month now …. And good ol Ronseal has failed again - none of there customer service managers have reached an out as stated by Ronseal … maybe I need to reach out to them again ?

The product was not fit for purpose
The product was not fit for purpose, the varnish was described as 10 year wood stain , I did not get one year before it started to fade and flake. I painted a cabin with Roseal 10 year wood stain, the front and back which was exteremely sheltered have remained in fairly good condition, however the gable ends which are more exposed to the weather have failed badly, Obviously as the cabin was all painted the same way and at the same time there can only be one explanation ...despite the paint being advertised for outside use, its ability to withstand weather is very limited ...Just to add to your reply, which is appreciated...I had correspondence with one of your advisors and basically as I had no receipt (fair enough) there was no where to go with the complaint...My point remains the wood stain is not suitable for all outdoor areas and I wasted time and money by using the product

Different shade
Bought two cans of the same paint, from two different shops, yet the shade was different. Contacted customer service team, who incorrectly suggested I hadn’t stirred the cans enough. Paint was extremely watery on application even after the mix and final finish poor. Won’t be using again. Expensive as well.
