Ronsea floorpaint dried patchy - different shades of grey even after thorough stirring. I used it on timberfloorboards and on some mdf steps - equally patchy results. In the end I bought some floorpaint from B&Q and got a much better even result. Little Greene floorpaint is also good. I will never use Ronseal again - it has cost me a lot of time and effort to correct the poor result.

I bought one coat fence life in June and I painted my fence. The paint is gone off the fence already. Im going to return what's left of this absolutely rubbish product for a full refund. A complete and total waste of days of my time painting a 3/4 acre of fencing around a field.

After many years of using Ronseal wood stains and polyurethane varnishes (1980s, early 90s) always with great results, I thought I would try their paint, but it came as a big disappointment to find that the "knot block wood primer and undercoat" definitely does NOT do what it says on the tin.
After 3 coats on redwood architraving, the knots were still visible, and I ended up undercoating with some oil based paint before finishing.
HOWEVER, what came as an even bigger disappointment was Ronseal's response. I lost so much time with this I felt that I should write to Ronseal, explain the problem, offer to return the remaining 1/2 tin and in return get a refund or replacement, as it must be faulty.
(having since read B&Qs large number of 1*reviews on this product, it can clearly be of poor quality).
Ronseal, in fairness did respond, but weren't interested in helping unless I could produce photographic evidence of the problem, which, as job was complete at this time, I couldn't do.
So the upshot is that they have lost another customer, and have sent out the message that their reputation isn't worth the price of a 750ml tin of paint.
*EDIT*.....
They did respond to this review, however, and I received a refund.

Ronseal wood filler, bought from Edinburgh B+Q. The consistency of the product meant it was impossible to squeeze out the plastic tube it came in and tube had to be cut open to use the small amount I needed rendering the rest useless. Nine pounds fifty wasted! Will never use Ronseal again. Didn’t do what it said on the tin! Or plastic tube in this case.

Bought anti condensation paint Matt white for kitchen ceiling, was an absolute disaster. As soon as I rolled it onto the ceiling it clumped up, tried different rollers but still clumpy. Ruined the ceiling. Caused so much distress. Wasted my time and energy. Have never experienced anything like it in my entire life.so disappointment.

Bought one coat paint black pepper not one coat at all decided to paint my interior doors 2 coats it took once it’s dry if you catch the doors with your nail the paint chips off I have to touch the doors up all the time Ronseal have not been in touch after many emails and messaging.
Ronseal Fence paint is so full of sand and other contaminants it blocks the sprayer after a few seconds. Tried to contact 'customer service' but emails ignored
EDIT.....
After 'Ronseal' reached out to me all I can say is they're scrapping the barrel in the customer service to their clients. No, I won't waste anymore of my time stripping down the pump, photographing the issues, copying the batch numbers, receipts and god knows what other snippets of information you've requested! You only have to look at all the same issues within the reviews on here to know that your products don't work!

Ronseal Garden Paint is the worst product I've ever used in fifty years of painting. It has the opacity of a shower of drizzle and if you try to apply it a bit thicker it runs and runs. Absolutely useless and infuriating product.

Bought One Coat Everywhere and I picked Charcoal Grey Matt paint for my living room one wall and I was very disappointed with the brand as I never bought Ronseal paint before it’s the first time and I had to repaint 3 times to stop the patch in most corners and still coming back white patch as my wall is brand new and plastering and my other three walls are Dulux paint have no issues apart of that Ronseal paint! I have got few photos of this issue to prove it but unfortunately here doesn’t have one to show the photos

Ronseal Weatherproof Wood Paint Batch 43E10:24 Royal Blue. This paint is not fit for purpose. Multiple coats ( 4 applied )over primer undercoat to fine smooth wood ( Richard Burbridge Louvre Door) and yes following manufacturer's printed instructions, still grinning through. Its not far off a translucent pigmented wash. Awful paint to apply.
Customer ( so stupid I am guessing a bot) services after exchanges blamed me.!!! I have been painting for over 50 years and can claim a little knowledge and experience. Told me to strip back to wood and start again.
Carly Bot says
“As explained we would recommend that the wood is stripped back to bare wood and the paint is applied directly to the wood.
The product is not at fault here, it is due to the primer that has been put on underneath the paint.
Best Wishes,
Carly.
Ronseal Consumer Services “
The instructions on the tin do not say only for use on bare wood. In fact they specifically refer to application to existing painted surfaces!
No I can’t have a refund sanctioned by Ronseal.
Ronseal should check negative B & Q and Amazon Reviews of the same paint.
That's me and Ronseal Products finished with.
“It’s our mission to show the world that anybody can do DIY.” Perhaps not with certain of their products?

I bought the tin recently from a Builders Merchant. When I went to stir it there was a thick layer of almost solid polyurethane at the bottom of the tin. I gave it a thorough mix with a clean stirrer but there were still lumps suspended in the varnish. Its going back to the shop. I found some old leftover Wickes varnish in the shed. Years old but it was better than the Ronseal.

Colour on the pot and on web of multiple suppliers was vastly different. Who wants a white decking.
It’s ridiculous that in this day and age it’s not possible to represent the colour correctly for paint, I know individual monitors can be set up to show colours differently but what shows as a reasonably dark taupe/stone colour should not come out almost white. That’s complete misrepresentation. The colour on the pot was a bit lighter than on the web but it looked a beige colour but also nothing like it came out.
I would describe the colour as snow it’s not brilliant white but it looks like snow.
I also think it’s insane to create a colour for outside decking like that. A complete waste of £92. I know it’s a small amount of money to them and they don’t give a #### but I expect from reading reviews most customers are at least surprised by the colour they get if not annoyed.
The cop out that printed or website colours aren’t representative is just not good enough.

Real trades man don't use this over priced cancer ridden rubbish , spend more money on marketing to sell rubbish to the masses. Tried several of their products now , and they all were awful. Your much better with the alternative that are usually cheaper . More expensive don't mean it's better ! It's just crap.

Bought the Ronseal Diamond Hard Floor Varnish Clear Satin in B&Q for the softwood stairs rework. These were completely stripped to bare wood, stained and varnished as per instructions on the tin. I have applied 3 coats and month later, I can easily make an indentation to wood just with my nails without any effort. Reading advice whenever I can and reviews for this product I understand what is going on. It took me weeks to prepare the stairs to this point omitting the fact how expensive this stuff is. All I can say, I feel betrayed as customer by this false advertise. Damage is done. NEVER AGAIN RONSEAL!!!

What a load of rubbish! Definitely doesn’t do what it says on the tin. I have never painted with a paint like it, doesn’t brush on or roller on, if you touch the paint you’ve just applied in a brush or rolling motion it just peels the paint back off. Waiting for it to dry now so I can rub the walls down and remove the big marks it has left behind. What a complete waste of a day and money, £36 for a tin of crap, not to mention the One Coat slogan, you can’t even apply one coat properly.
Avoid using this.
Doesn’t warrant the one star but wouldn’t let me proceed without submitting a star rating!

I bought the Ronseal High Performance Wood filler, and cannot complain about the quality of it sanded into the cracks and crevices of the damaged external front door. Maybe they need to change the size of the tin to let you know how much is really inside... as there was a third only inside a 275 grams tin. The main concern I have is the Ronseal Xactly Exterior Paint Colour Boost, that clearly states Rainproof in one hour, so it is painted, and fourteen hours later it does rain..and the whole door is now mottled... ?? I have photographs of the amazing finish that was done prior to the rain and was very proud of rescuing this door from decay, and now very perturbed by all the negative comments about Ronseal Products...including this one... I just thought that it did what it said on the Tin...

We have used ronseal fence life plus on our house cladding. We did 3 coats, with plenty of time in between but the black paint has completely faded and gone patchy, in some places right back to bare wood. This was after only 8 months and it is supposed to be good for 5 years plus! I had several months of emails back and forth with customer service who just came back with nonsense excuses so she said it would be escalated to a manager. That was 2 months ago and have heard nothing, despite chasing. This is a major headache and am very disappointed with Ronseal’s la k of response.
Have had a courteous response from Ronseal, below. But have heard nothing since from them. Being cynical, maybe by writing a message on here, they look to be supportive, but then take no further action . .

We used Ronseal chalky furniture paint dead flat Matt pink rose and it is the worst paint you could ever use. It is basically water with a touch of pink in it. It takes around 20 coats to cover a light grey kitchen cupboard do not buy.
