Well a once great brand across Birmingham, has come down to the fact that profits come before customer service. On my last day in Birmingham, ordered from the Erdington branch, for delivery from their website..

Driver arrived 45 minutes late
Started shouting at the customer and blamed customer for lateness and incorrect post code
Food therefore cold
Promised call back from manager, didn't happen

Complaint lodged, about the unprofessionally driver, promised call backs and cold food.

Reply said to give them one more chance as we are all humans and make mistakes.
No apology, No to keep me as a customer . Just empty hollow words. Told them squarely No.

Customer service team didn't even respond or defend the company they work for afterwards, maybe the reply hit a nerve. So says it all. Staff don't care either, or they are immune from criticism.

There are plenty of alternatives and competition out there to satisfy your needs, across Birmingham, just hope big John's isn't one of them. You would have thought an established brand would care if its reputation and how it treats customers. Not in my case.

For me, it's the end of being a big John's customer. Account deleted. But what do they care, as there are other customers that keep them going.

Only upside of the business is the food hygiene rating.

Worst quality on soho road better customer service but on top they dont give any sauces with food even if you buy food worth 50£

I have ordered from this place for the last few years on the food has been excellent. my last order and my last was horrendous! i ordered a doner kebab and chips. there is no other way describe it as the left overs of the night before. everything was stone cold and the chips were shrivelled. I should have known better when the order arrived in less than 30 minutes of ordering! maybe the authorities need to look into this as the food standard did not meet any regulation. Im sorry big Johns but as a loyal customer for many years this really is not acceptable! the whole meal went into the bin and you can keep your stamps I will not be returning!

Omg vile food.very dry chips were like bricks.

Wasnt askednif I wanted condiments or salt and vinegar on my food

The food was absolutley nasty
Even my dog walked away from the chicken.

Worst place to order any food from, dried out food and they refuse to give refunds, but they will send a driver out to come collect the poor quality food to do an “investigation” and still refuse to refund.

£16 for the food I received is an insult, lack of it , not very tasty at all scabby minimal salad, do not order here, bloody disgusting

Complained that the pizza had hardly ant topping compared to the usual amount and asked to speak to the manager. That so called manager was abusive, arrogant and unprofessional. The Chelmsley Wood branch is an utter disgrace and that manager needs sacking. Had it not been over the phone I am sure the outcome would have resulted in my arrest. Avoid this place like the plague and spend your money on people that know how to treat customers that pay their wages.

I gave them 1 start, because you can't leave a zero star. I ordered 2 Donna and got a single piece of meat in each one. I rang to complain and was told, the staff are instructed to do this! 🤷🏼‍♂️ It's policy. Unbelievable. Will never buy from there again.

Utter disgraceful service from Big Johns Chelmsley Wood, due disability & being disabled,
I previously used this store 2x a week for pizza.

Tonight the 15th December 2021 I placed my normal order for pizza,

1st issue the drivers (just eat drivers x2) went to the wrong address although I clearly gave directions on my order where to go.

Upon delivery my pizza was absolutely stone cold, it was that cold the cheese was like rubber, so I politely refused to take food & asked for a reorder.

I called the store 01217709555 & spoke to a girl who said the manager will refund the cost and for me not to order from the store again.

I ask why ? as this was disgraceful customer service,

I was told because I refused the delivery & it was on time (didn't matter it was cold) the store would no longer honour any orders to my address.

I explained the food was stone cold & the girl said "doesn't matter my manager said it was on time & not to order again"

I have never been treated so disgraceful utterly shocking service

Your staff are using their bare hands when serving food, especially the salad in the back part of the shop on soho Road, Handsworth, Birmingham, B21. I have complained about a lot of times now and your staff are finding this issue really funny. I see last week and complained about it and got my money back. I don't want to buy anything from there until this matter is sorted out. . Or maybe I will recored what happens there and put the recording all over the internet

Ordered a delivery from Shirley branch, after being 45 mins overdue a friend called and I found my meal wet and on the drive stone cold. I called them and told the manager would call me, after 15 mins the person i first called phoned and said the driver knocked door then phoned me twice. TOTAL LIES manager never called. Do Not Use These Jokers you wait two hours for cold and wet food and they dont give a toss.

This restaurant is much improved, I thought I needed to leave this review after seeing all the negative. We came before and the place needed shutting down, it was filthy, crap food and miserable staff. On our way back from the German market we saw the new signage and thought we would try it. We are very impressed with with the new look, cleanliness and the staff morale. Very friendly and efficient. The improvement deserves this recognition. 10/10

Would say poor service that's if I got served waiting there in my high viz jacket can clearly be seen for over 10 minutes not many people in the shop then another customer walked in before he reached the counter they were asking him for his order I walked out angrily the shop was in Gooch St highgate birmingham 5

Loved the food! Great sized portions, lots of options and the mojito's were so nice! Would definitely go again!

The food tastes nice, however the portion sizes are too small. My food was cold (both the fries and the kebab.) The service was also good however I don’t think you should eat here if you want a Kebab, go somewhere else.

Can't fault the food. I paid £33.94 for 2 pizzas, a 10pc chicken meal and various drinks. I asked for mayonaise to be put on one portion of chips in the chicken meal but was told I would have to pay an extra 50p. Hello, I've just spent nearly £34 and you want me to pay for a mayonaise. Well it's the only takeaway I know, that charges for sauces. Think they have a right sauce expecting us to pay for sauces. Won't bother returning then, when I can get a meal just as good, even cheaper and with no added cost for sauces, elsewhere. You've just lost a customer that always spends well over £20 per visit.

Yep. One star. Let me clear - the food was lovely - it wasn't super hot - but it was tastey, especially the spicy chicken burger.

However, when the door knocked, I opened the door and the delivery driver said, with an attitude "I call you but no answer". I said "Say again mate?"

"I call you but no answer."

He was trying to say "I phoned you expecting you to come outside and pick it up from the car."
I turned to him and said "Yeah? And the door is right there."

He turned around and said "alright mate whatever" and walked off.

I do not live in a flat. I live on a street. They charge £2.50 for delivery. The key is in the word "DELIVERY." Not "Drop off on the road."

In short - the food is good - but the delivery driver was arrogant, rude and unprofessional.

For that reason, I will not order again, 1 star review. Hire better staff.

Ordered from Erdington branch. A catalogue of issues:
1. Naan not fresh.
2. Chips, a mix of old and fresh
3. Chilli sauce literally burned throats and left in pain after.
4. Order arrives 49 minutes late.
5. No one answers phone so we can't follow up, check or complain
6. No apology from the driver about being so late. Delivery driver had no idea the delivery was so late and advised best to order via Just Eat from these guys and not direct ever (in other words, this might be the only way to hold them accountable).

awful service can never get there order right given wrong order and was told nothing can be done about it, so i refused to leave drive thru giving them no choice but to correct
