Maybe another new scam ?

I tried to enter the metro contest today (July/30/2023) but the wording @ the bottom of the page reads "there is no contest currently running now". I have just returned from my local metro with my groceries, a cash receipt in my hand for $78.08 & a slip of the contest instructions, as well. My code # is 8309945744171943. Is this another metro slip-up, or a new scam ?

Check the caesar salad before buying

Why in the world would you make a caesar salad out of iceberg lettuce? My husband didn't notice until he got it home and opened it. In case you don't know, it does NOT taste the same. It sucks! My dinner was ruined thank you. I will go back to buying them from Sobeys.

Message to Metro's CEO Mr. Eric R. La Fleche

I am writing you, because of my experience with your customer service agents on July 27, 2023. here is my question regarding order# 02672063 which my total was 57.61
Since my order wasn't delivered and cancelled I got 55.86 deposited to my account
I spoke to four different metro's agent today. The first one name was J@@@@@@ which she put me on hold and never got back to me. The second one name was Y@@@@ which told me he send message to his supervisor and has my phone number and will call me with result, guess what after 6 hours that call never happened. The Third one name K@@@@ had no idea what so ever i am talking about. And finally the last one name is V@@@@@@@@ that she was trying to help and asking me to be patient till get the answer from supervisor and i did that and waited 23 minutes ( I think is good amount of time to call somebody was patient)
my question for you is are some of these agents and supervisors is been told probably by management to mislead and waist customer time because my question was very simple mathematical one, I didn't ask the distance between the planet Earth and Mars that required rocket science.

Beef and Prime Rib

I have been a long time shopper at Metro Trenton ON.
but lately you quality of Beef is 0 !!!!!
I bought 5 Prime Ribs at an average of 28.00 t0 68.00 on sale
The first one I did was so tough I fed it to the neighbours dog.
The rest are still frozen.
So today we bought Sirloin Shishcabobs and agin almost lost our teeth on this tougher than rocks Beef.
So I have decided never to shop at Metro again till you get your Crap together and find a Butcher that knows how to hang and cut BEEF !!!.
I am also putting my discuss with your beef on Social Media.

Price gouging by Metro grocery store.

I have been shopping at the Cloverdale Mall Metro (formerly known as Dominion) for 51 years now (since 1972) and in the past year and a half have seem what appears to be price gouging during that time; especially today!

Just yesterday; I purchased a hot meal combo plate consisting of one primary meat dish and a choice of two sides for $7.49 plus tax. Today; that exact same combo is selling for $8.99 plus tax. That is an incredible 20% price increase. I somehow can not fathom supply chain delays or potato, carrot and chicken prices having increased by a huge 20% margin. In my opinion; this is price gouging, plain and simple!! After 51 years of shopping at Metro; they have lost me as a customer. Going to make much more use of Costco from now on.

Delivery never arrived

I placed an order for delivery in February that was never delivered. After it wasn’t delivered, it marked the delivery as not complete but scheduled for December 25, 2023. I called Metro and they explained this is what they do to signal to their team that it needs to be rescheduled or cancelled. I asked to cancel it. She said I would receive the refund within a few days. Two weeks go by, and nothing. I call Metro again and they say they had an issue with their refund system, so all refunds were delayed. They offer to have it sent to me within 2-3 business days. Another week goes by and still no refund. I call today and the agent explained that they do not know anything about refunds or their status so they can’t help me. They offered to have a supervisor call me back in 24 hours, but I have a feeling that’s not going to happen. I really liked Metro and have been using their unlimited delivery service, but this has completely turned me off and I will not be using it anymore. Such a scam.

One of their employees set it up for me and it has never worked!!! I’ve been a customer since they were a&p!! Now I can’t get an advertised sale without the app! This is ridiculous. You’ve just lost a longtime customer!!!

Metro.ca Most of my order was missing.

EDIT TO ADD:
Metro.ca credited me for the items I didn't receive. I went ahead and ordered the missing items from another grocery delivery service. A few hours later, the driver from Metro.ca phoned me to say he'd found another box from my order in his truck. Fortunately, I was able to cancel my new order from the other delivery service. He brought the missing items to my door and I still received the credit for them. Why couldn't their customer service just have called him in the first place to ask if he'd forgotten part of my order on his truck? Can't trust them still.

I'm a senior and ordered groceries from metro.ca. The driver left the order at my door as I requested. I left him a 20.00 cash tip in an envelope taped to my door. (stupid me) My order was missing about 100.00 worth of items. I called to tell metro to get the guy back with the rest of my order. Instead, they refunded me for items not delivered. I wanted them to send me my groceries and they said they could not. They could only do a refund. What kind of grocery delivery service can't deliver groceries to me due to an error on their part? Will never use metro.ca again.

Grocery delivery never arrived, but got charged.

I placed an order for grocery delivery, never received the order, however it was marked as complete and I got charged. I had to call in 4 times and metro confirmed it wasn't delivered, yet no one contacted me and no one was able to actually help with receiving the grocery order. Was promised 3 call backs and an e-mail and received none. This place is an absolute joke. Waste of 4 hours of my time. I understand having an issue and making a mistake, but this company does absolutely nothing to take accountability and remedy the issue - it is entirely on me, the customer to continually call back. Save yourself a headache and shop elsewhere.

Your Selection Bartlett Pear halves are uneatable.
I purchased a 796 mil can and I had to spit out the bite I had taken. Terrible,terrible and awful. Left such a bad taste in my mouth. I threw the can away. The can’s goods are a product of China. I am very disappointed. With the price of food in the market right now, I will definitely not be purchasing any Selection products. I cannot afford to throw food away

Their ''I don't care about you'' attitude has lost me as a client

The Metro driver rang the intercom of my apartment building only once. I buzzed him in but after 5 minutes of waiting, he wasn't showing up. I decided to go down and noticed the red metro truck parked at the corner of the street. I walked to the truck and the agitated driver got out telling me he had cancelled my order and I couldn't get it. As I was inquiring as to why, he explained he had called me numerous times x (3) and rang my buzzer x (1) without any answer. I attempted to respond but he kept talking loudly over me and I couldn't put a word in.
I simply wanted to know why he hadn't heard the buzzer and why he didn't ring a 2nd time. I also wanted to explain that my phone had blocked his phone no. as spam. (It is clearly indicated in my profile that the driver must ring the buzzer.)
Finally, he was causing such an embarrassing scene that I gave up. Feeling utterly frustrated, I told him that because he was a fool, I would lodge a complaint.
As I started walking away, the Metro driver started following me, yelling that I was an imbecile and gesticulating angrily with his phone. He would contact his supervisor himself. His strong uncontrolled reaction gave me a moment of panic...was he going to confront me face to face...strike me?

I called to complain 4 times - no supervisor called back!

Why do they hire such aggressive and incompetent staff with ''0'' customer service skills? Why am I not a valued customer? The driver did not seem worried at all about the raucous he was causing. Their ''I don't care about you'' attitude has lost me as a client and they will probably loose more.

Metro Online Delivery is Terrible!

Metro has this ridiculous rule that basically means whatever price you shopped for your grocery at, it WILL change at the time of the delivery. So the prices you're buying it at, will not be the actual price at the time of the delivery. So for example, the coffee I thought I got on sale at 4.99 became 8.79, and about 90% of the prices changed to higher when the receipt updated on the day of delivery. Also, when they substitute the products, for example, frozen mango, instead of substituting with another brand of forzen mango, they subbed it frozen pineapple, LOL they're completely different fruits! How is anyone suppose to budget with this?

I've never experienced something like this, where prices change after you purchased it LOL it's so crazy. If everyone shopped at Amazon and this happened, where you buy something for 50 then it might become 70, no one would shop there. It's like playing a guessing game, and at a time when groceries are at an all times high, it's so maddening. Just wanted to warn people if you ever were tempted to buy at Metro Online.
