One star is to generous for this…
One star is to generous for this company. They are knowingly committing insurance fraud. I have been waiting almost 2 months to be reimbursed for my claim, which took almost 6 weeks to processed. They admit they are under staffed but do nothing about it. They do not return the calls or emails within any realistic time frame. You are held hostage there, I was a many pets customer before my policy was either sold or transferred to Odie. When you try to shop other companies they tell you anything your pet has been treated for is a pre existing condition and will not be covered.
If I could give less I would
If I could give less I would. What an absolute SCAM. I’m so tempted to report them to the authorities… I NEVER signed up for pet insurance, but they somehow got my information and just started charging me! I tried reaching out to resolve the issue and get a refund but they continued to ignore me… it got to the point where I had to file a fraudulent claim with my bank and get a new card. I still get emails from them to this day asking me to “update my payment”… leave me alone. Such an uncaring organization.
This company is a complete scam
This company is a complete scam. We had a pre approval letter from them and the still denied claim. And it took 8 weeks to hear back from them. They don’t answer their phones, voice messages, or emails. All they do is take your money. None of our claims have been approved by them. Always a reason not to pay. Will be filing complaint with BBB and canceling policy.
Don't like to pay out
Was switched from Many Pets which was an awesome company, to Odie Pet Insurance. They suck to be truthful. I have a monthly claim for medication for one of my cats that Many Pets always paid for. Odie denied the very first claim on this saying it was a pre-existing condition by reading between the lines on a vet explanation on a visit before he was diagnosed. I had to fight the claim and explain that if Many Pets paid for it then by law they should to. They fought back saying they have the right to make their own decisions. So by them saying that you get the same coverage...blah blah blah... is a joke and a lie. I finally called Many Pets and complained to them then followed up with an appeal with Odie. Finally got them to pay for it, which is great when they actually get around to paying for claims. I sometimes go 3 months or longer (if I don't call and complain) to get paid for the monthly claim that I have. I normally have to call after 30 days and start complaining every week until I finally get paid. This last one was insane. Finally go them to pay 3 months of bills and it sat in the pending payment stage for over 2 weeks. Called again and was sent an email saying it would be another week. Called again and finally got the payment released. It's really getting ridiculous and I'm in a bind now because I can't go anywhere else because this is going to be considered a pre-existing condition with another company. I can only hope they get their act together soon. They sure can take money out of my account every month for the policy payment, they just can't seem to release it. They keep saying they will be getting better as they hire but I've heard this for the whole year now.
I got stuck with this company because…
I got stuck with this company because ManyPets that I used to have left the U.S. market and my policy was sold to them. They are horrible. It is very hard to communicate, and the claims are denied for no valid reason. They also applied a cap to my used to be "unlimited" policy with ManyPets for the same premium amount. It's been a month and the claims are still in a "submitted" status. ManyPets was great, easy to communicate, and claims were processed timely. This company is a nightmare to deal with.
I am sad to say my experience with Odie…
I am sad to say my experience with Odie has been horrible. Like many, I was transfered from ManyPets. It has been 45 days since I submitted my first claim. I was told to expect at least 2 months. This is unacceptable. I am waiting to be denied just like many other customers that left reviews. I am stuck, like many due to pre-existing conditions. Seems like a trap to me. Please stay away from Odie. I don't see them lasting much longer with this business model and very low rating with BBB.
Total Scam
This business is a scam. I don't mean like a normal bad business. I mean they are actually scamming people. They do not answer any email or phone calls ever. They do not pay claims, and they typically do not even respond to them. It is a criminal enterprise and everyone involved should be ashamed and probably throw in jail.
Submitted 3 claims over a month ago--no…
Submitted 3 claims over a month ago--no movement. Emailed the email address they say to write to over a week ago for assistance twice.. No reply or acknowledgement .
Worst company I've ever dealt with
They refuse to answer the phone. They don't pay on claims for months, if at all. They respond to emails with excuses to explain delays. According to their emails they can't help you in a timely manner because they are overwhelmed with claims. Buyer beware. Stay far away from this company. According to them they are too busy to deal with their customers. My experience with them Spans from Jan 2025 until Sept. 2025 when I canceled the policy.
Avoid this Insurance company at all…
Avoid this Insurance company at all cost they are completely unresponsive to claims or update requests. They only thing they will ever respond to is issues with you paying your premium (go Figure). They made an arrangement with a previous insurance company Many Pet to gain their US customers and I can only describe this as fraud. Customers who were forced over from Many Pets had to accept the much worse policies forced on them or have any issue their pets had labeled pre-existing on another policy. Odie exploits this by completely ignoring claims from these customers as they have no other options so they will just keep taking money from them until they give up. I eagerly await the inevitable class action lawsuit against this company please do not insure your pet here as they have no future given their business practices
I haven't received payment for two…
I haven't received payment for two separate claims submitted over a month ago. They simply sent an email saying: "We are currently experiencing a large influx of claim submissions which is causing a delay in our claim processing time." The funny thing is that they are not delaying any of the premium payment deductions from my bank acct.
my pets were insured with Many Pets and…
my pets were insured with Many Pets and I had a great experience for three years. I was told that Many Pets merged or sold to Odie Pet Insurance. What a joke. I had to submit a claim and they keep giving bizarre excuses as to why they will not reimburse me. One excuse was that I had to send all my two pets medical records from the first day they were seen, so I did that. And then they were asking for previous records before they were even born. I truly do not know what to do now bc any other insurance company I would go to wouldnt cover any pre-existing conditions. So basically we all have been duped.
Odie doesn’t cover anything
I’ve had the same experience as other who used ManyPets and was switched over to Odie. With ManyPets I had full coverage. I was told with the switch my coverage wouldn’t change. I’ve submitted the same claims for items always approved under ManyPets only to be denied by Odie due to “my policy doesn’t cover it”. Very dissatisfied with the forced switch. It’s virtually impossible to get in contact with them to get a second review or ask why anything was denied. Definitely not staying with Odie as they pay for nothing!
⭐ 1 Star — Misleading, Opaque, and Designed to Deny Claims
I deeply regret trusting Odie Pet Insurance with my dog’s coverage. After being transferred from ManyPets, I was assured in writing that I would “retain the exact same coverage,” including for ongoing conditions that had already been covered. But when I filed a claim for a new ear infection (not chronic or recurring), Odie denied it—claiming it was a “pre-existing condition.”
Here’s the truth:
My previous insurer confirmed in writing that this condition was not considered pre-existing and that Odie was made aware of that.
Odie then applied a previously undisclosed 18-month lookback period, which was never mentioned until AFTER they denied the claim.
I submitted a vet statement clearly explaining the ear issue was not chronic, not recurring, and was treated/resolved individually each time. It made no difference.
When I asked how the “independent veterinary review” was handled or what credentials the reviewer had, Odie refused to disclose anything. So much for “transparency.”
And yes, they never answer the phone. Not once. Every interaction is through slow, generic email replies.
Odie repeatedly uses vague language and blanket statements about “pre-existing conditions” to justify denials—even when there’s overwhelming documentation proving otherwise. It feels like they go out of their way to find loopholes and wear you down so you’ll stop fighting back.
If you’re considering this company, please read other reviews. My experience is not unique—there are hundreds of customers saying the exact same thing. Odie might look good on the surface, but once you need to use your policy, you’ll learn just how broken their system really is.
Odie does not have people who answer…
Odie does not have people who answer the phone. Emails are only answered if they involve my premium payments. I was switched from Many Pets-not sure I'll be sticking around with Odie. Might also talk to my credit card company about a refund for my monthly premiums as it appears I am paying for nothing.
Scam Insurance: Won’t Pay, Won’t Answer, Won’t Follow the Law
If I could give Odie zero stars, I would! They do not care about the law at all. They've violated several Colorado laws on multiple claims I’ve submitted. They refuse to answer their phones, lie and claim they called when they didn’t, provide unreasonable and contradictory explanations, ignore the policy terms I originally had with ManyPets, and refuse to pay claims altogether.
I have had thousands of dollars in valid claims pending since May, and Odie will not process them according to state law or their own policy provisions. They argue with customers, are extremely rude, and when I’ve sent them citations of the exact laws they’re violating, they simply go silent and pretend they never saw the information.
They have not paid me a single penny on any claim, ever. They forced me onto their plan from ManyPets, promising to match my exact policy, yet they added restrictions such as maximum payout limits that ManyPets never had. They consistently misread Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) from my primary insurer, fail to understand basic insurance terminology, and refuse to answer the phone even when my primary insurer calls to clarify.
I have filed formal complaints with:
• Colorado Department of Insurance
• Better Business Bureau
• Consumer Financial Protection Bureau
• Colorado Attorney General
• Arizona Attorney General
• Arizona Department of Insurance and Financial Institutions
The laws they are breaking include, but are not limited to: Colorado’s Unfair Claims Settlement Practices Act, bad faith insurance conduct, and misrepresentation of policy provisions. This company should be investigated and sanctioned before more customers are harmed.
Complaining against Odie Pet Insurance…
Complaining against Odie Pet Insurance for the unjustified denial of a valid claim for my dog, Tripp, and for failure to honor pre-existing condition coverage that had already been established and paid for under the previous insurance provider, ManyPets, which Odie acquired. My experience with them has been deeply frustrating and unfair. It appears Odie is attempting to rewrite policy terms after the acquisition and is refusing to honor valid, previously covered conditions by hiding behind automated denial processes and irrelevant requests. I believe Odie is acting in bad faith and is possibly violating New York State’s insurance laws regarding: - Continuity of coverage during insurer transitions - Unfair claims practices - Failure to acknowledge valid documentation and prior approvals.
In 2025, my dog Tripp experienced a flare-up of the same exact allergy symptoms. I submitted a new claim to Odie. In my submission, I included: - A vet bill from the current treatment - A vet bill from the 2023 incident, showing that the same condition was treated and covered under ManyPets Despite this, Odie denied the claim, labeling it as a “pre-existing condition.” I followed up with a detailed explanation, clearly stating that: - I am not denying that it is a pre-existing condition. - My position is that this pre-existing condition was already accepted and covered under the original ManyPets policy and therefore should continue to be covered by Odie. Odie responded with a form letter, requesting that my veterinarian provide a letter stating the current condition is unrelated to Tripp’s medical history — which contradicts the very basis of my appeal. I never claimed the condition was unrelated. I claimed it was related, and that the relationship had already been accepted and covered under my policy. Despite repeated clarifications, Odie continues to send the same form letter, ignoring the actual facts of the case. They have offered no individual consideration, escalation, or proper review.
This experience has been deeply frustrating and unfair. It appears Odie is attempting to rewrite policy terms after the acquisition and is refusing to honor valid, previously covered conditions by hiding behind automated denial processes and irrelevant requests. I believe Odie is acting in bad faith and is possibly violating New York State’s insurance laws regarding: - Continuity of coverage during insurer transitions - Unfair claims practices - Failure to acknowledge valid documentation and prior approvals
DO NOT USE THIS INSURANCE COMPANY!!!!
DELAYED CLAIMS AND EXPENSIVE
We were transferred over to Odie from ManyPets in Jan. And ever since then, it has been a nightmare working with Odie. The price doubled what we were paying with ManyPets and it isn't even the same services. Every claim we submit is delayed by WEEKS and we can barely get ahold of anyone for updates. Emails responses take 7-15 days for them to reply, and good luck getting an answer on the phone or a callback. They say delays are due to high volume of claims being submitted but I have had 3 other insurances for my dogs and NEVER experienced this. We would cancel if our dog did not have preexisting conditions that ManyPets said would be covered under Odie. Take your business elsewhere.
Extremely Poor Expensive Service
Unable to submit claims do to problems with their website. Nearly twice what we were paying with ManyPets. Email responses are backlogged 7-15 days.
Delayed reimbursement and unresponsive customer support.
I’ve been deeply disappointed with my experience using Odie Pet Insurance. What was promised as a quick and simple reimbursement process has turned into a drawn-out ordeal.
I have submitted multiple claims since May 2025 for over $3,000. Despite repeated follow-ups via email and phone, I have yet to receive reimbursement — or even meaningful communication. The claim portal offers minimal transparency, and customer service responses (when they arrive) are vague and unhelpful.
Reimbursement delays of **months** are unacceptable, especially when financial support is urgently needed for pet medical care. The lack of accountability, poor communication, and volume of similar complaints from other policyholders suggests a larger pattern of dysfunction.
I urge anyone considering this provider to research thoroughly and proceed with caution. My experience has been frustrating, time-consuming, and deeply disappointing.
I am canceling my policy and moving to another insurance provider.
