Great drivers, but office communication needs improvement on travel days.

We rented buses for our event on 10/9 and 10/10, and both drivers were absolutely fantastic. They were professional, friendly, and did an excellent job navigating our group.

I am deducting one star solely due to communication issues with the office on our first travel day (Friday, 10/9). A few minutes before our scheduled time, the bus had not yet arrived. Naturally getting concerned, I attempted to call both numbers listed on our confirmation sheet, but no one answered either line.
Since it was a weekday, I was eventually able to reach someone at the central office. The representative there was incredibly helpful and successfully tracked down the bus, which arrived about 10 minutes late. While the situation was resolved, having the direct event-day contact numbers go unanswered caused unnecessary stress.

I highly recommend their drivers, but hope the company improves its dispatch or on-call communication channels for clients actively traveling. One suggestion is to inform the customer of the driver's name and phone number so that the customer can make contact directly if needed.

Overall, the experience was good. However, communication between the rental location and the local First Student team needs improvement. There was a lot of confusion because the rental location did not inform the local team that the request was for The Point, an existing customer. As a result, our trip was canceled twice.

Our local First Student drivers transport our scholars every day, so we already knew they were available. Unfortunately, that information was not communicated when availability was checked. This should be part of the initial inquiry to avoid unnecessary confusion, delays, and cancellations. Better communication between the rental location and the local team would make the process much smoother. The drivers are always on point!

After receiving multiple confirmations, and an invoice with the time and date of the pick up, a bus never came to pick us up. I contacted the number that was on the document and talked to the dispatcher and she said there was no order in place for our bus. We spent more than $700 in ubers to get to the location, and ended up being late because the bus did not show up.

All three drivers were gracious and friendly. Our wedding guests all enjoyed the bus rides with smiles all around.

The busses got everyone where they needed to be on time and safely! And the drivers were all very friendly and helpful!

First Charter failed to show up for our wedding despite providing a confirmation email and charging us for the service. When the bus never arrived, none of the after-hours contact numbers responded to our calls, leaving us without the transportation we had booked for our wedding day.

When I followed up on Monday, there was little urgency and minimal apology for what had happened. This was especially frustrating after spending an hour and a half on the phone with a coordinator beforehand to carefully finalize our transportation schedule.

A wedding is not an event where you can afford to have a transportation company simply not show up. The lack of reliability, communication, and accountability was unacceptable. If you want reliable transportation for your wedding, I would not recommend booking First Charter.

The drivers were professional and friendly.

I am a bride who booked this bus service (2 busses) for my wedding. It picked guests up at the hotel before (myself and my husband went in a limo separately beforehand) and then brought everyone, including us, back to the hotel after the wedding.
I am very disappointed with this service, as the busses were late picking the guests up. I had the busses very clearly scheduled to arrive at the hotel for guest pickup at 3:50 and leave the hotel promptly at 4:00, to arrive at the wedding venue at 4:16 (16 minute drive) for 4:30 ceremony start time. That would give guests some time to say hi to others, find their seat, enjoy the drink bar I had set outside, get situated, etc.
I was shielded from the details on the day of, but have since come to learn that both busses were late arriving to pick guests up. The busses did not arrive at the hotel to begin pickup until 4:00. And they did not leave the hotel until 4:08. That, combined with traffic, and the guests did not arrive for the ceremony until 4:29. This did not give guests time to get situated as desired, etc. Guests felt rushed and the ceremony started a few minutes late, which took away from the live music I had hired for both the ceremony and cocktail hour, both of which I paid good money to perform for the full allotted time.
When the busses were late to arrive, one my guests told me that she asked the bus driver why he was late, and he made up a lie and said “we were told not to arrive at the venue any earlier than 4:30.”
That is a complete lie. The venue actually asked me if the busses could come even earlier, but I never called to make the switch. There is no way that is true. Anyway, why would they not want to arrive any earlier than the actual start time of a ceremony? That is obviously not truthful.
Furthermore, I had told all of my guests to be outside for the busses at 3:45 so that there were no stragglers and the busses could leave on time. It was not my guests holding up the service.
And even to add to this, because the busses were late, a few of my guests actually decided to drive themselves because they had lost faith in the service. That defeated the purpose of my hiring these busses.
I paid a lot of money to have these 2 busses perform this service. I even tipped the bus drivers because I was unaware of this until after the fact. I am not satisfied with this service, I do not think my money was well spent, and I would not recommend this company to others when asked. I feel that the service I paid more than $2,000 for was not delivered as was agreed to.
The only reason I give this service 2 stars instead of 1 is that the bus driver on the way home drove safely, and was on time for the return trip.

The process was going seamless until day of the event. The itinerary that was detailed had correct times, addresses, and intervals but when the drivers showed up, they were given a different drop-off address which impacted our event and delayed our timeline of events. It was then difficult to contact each driver to alert them of the correct address for drop-off.

Our driver was AMAZING! Very friendly and extremely accommodating(especially with the crazy weather issues).
We greatly appreciated her!
