I ordered an Xplorer cabin mobility scooter from Essential Aids because on the website it stated that this item was in stock. The money was paid via PayPal and I got a mail confirming that fact. After a few days no more contact so I asked the company when I could expect delivery as I am in a wheelchair and I had paid for a technician to setup the scooter for me. The next day I got a mail saying there had been a supply issue and the scooter would not be available for another 2or3 weeks.
I rechecked the website and it still said the item was in stock. When questioned the company said they had made the change but it takes about 2 hrs to appear on the website but 6hrs later it still had not been changed. Now 3 days later the company is still saying this item is in stock when it clearly is not. There are five variations of this item all apparently in stock so I asked for any one they had in stock if my choice was not available but they had none in stock. I asked for my money back which they agreed to but it could take a week.
I then checked TrustPilot where I found 4 people in the last month with the same problem as me, stock items were NOT IN STOCK. This is not a new issue the company has known for some time.
Do not believe this company when they tell an item is in stock.

Horrible, this thing is not a raiser, it’s just a regular sponge. I regret buying it!!! I needed dense foam under me!!!!

Fast service good communications value for money

The item arrived in good time. The packaging was excellent. We are going to use it so that my husband can walk about upstairs. The item we borrowed is quite difficult to use. It was fairly easy to put together

The cardboard package was intact, but squashed.
My order arrived on time and in perfect condition.
I choose with great care, avoiding slightly cheaper alternatives. I am exceedingly pleased and think it will have been a wise investment. Would definitely recommend.
It is light and strong. I am just 5’3”, 11 stone and choose Medium, rather than Small - it is perfect - glad I didn’t order the slightly smaller version.

Really happy with the walker, it’s for my dad who has lost a lot of his mobility and the walker has really improved his mobility and helps him so much more than a walking stick and he is now much better with his new aid. He even admitted he should have got a long time ago, we’re really happy with it.

I recently purchased a profiling bed from this company and they were brilliant from start to finish. Answered all my questions when I rang them . I did not hesitate to purchase from them again. The service once again was brilliant and delivery very speedy. The products of high quality and an excellent price especially in the sale.

Easy to use web site and quick delivery

I was clear from the start of my conversation that I wanted a receipt for the item I wanted to buy as opposed to just an invoice. They processed my purchase and then refused to give me a receipt. I was told that a manager would call me back. Nobody ever phoned me back. Very poor customer service

This company is a joke, had a delivery slot between 10:00 and 13:00 for a profiling bed, it never arrived. Multiple calls later, no one seems to know what is happening essential aids said you were down for drop 13. Eventually it was found that the wrong item was picked so they were unable to load it onto the van, something they were aware of first thing that morning and did not bother to tell me, completely unacceptable. They agreed to cancel my order, yet still being bombarded with calls, emails and texts from their delivery company. Ordered another bed from different company with next day delivery. AVOID they do not know what they are doing.

Excellent product at a fair price with rapid delivery. Very pleased.
