We specialise in checking and processing Basic Disclosure applications and provide support and advice specifically for the Basic Disclosure Online Application. We do not currently handle applications for Standard or Enhanced DBS checks although we may be able to advise on who you need to contact if you do require a Standard or Enhanced DBS check.

The process is silly. Why should I need to make the organisation do one if I can do one myself. Needs a rethink.
I received poor advice from my contracting organisation. And I realise this is a recent legal rule change from self employed / enhanced DBS, so there maybe lag time before companies have agreed upon pathways. But if I work in an area that requires an enhanced DBS, I should just be able to get one without question. The current policy is bureaucratic.

Be aware of these scams
Be aware of these scams, so many hidden charges, no customer service human to speak to, no full refund available, but it makes it impossible to get to the end of the application without paying triple the price. They also show you 3 steps on how to get your DBS check. You follow it, you pay, then it's actually an annual fee for their services, and I left without paying the £45 and did not get any DBS check. THEY LISTED THEY ANNUAL FEES IN THE SAME AMOUNT OF THE DBS cost. Then you realise you pay only for an account on their website, and you need to pay again for the DBS check. I hope I will get my money back. I have emailed them, will update here what they say and if they refund me. So bad to experience this when you have an exact budget to do your DBS. BE AWARE, DO NOT DO ANYTHING WITH THIS COMPANY. IT IS COMPLETELY SCAMMED

I’ve recently got a new job and for the first time am self employed. I was told I needed an enhanced check. I mistakenly thought I needed to apply for myself and initiated the process. Before I got to the end of the process I messaged the help desk to ask if I was correct In creating a corporate account. Michael replied promptly explaining the correct proceedure clearly. I was really appreciative of Michael’s help especially as I wasn’t expecting to receive much help at all , given previous experiences with 3rd party agencies. If I had my own company with employees I would use CRB direct.

CRB Direct company is dishonest
CRB Direct company is a totally dishonest, be careful they take money from you for everything but they don’t actually provide the service they charged you for. They charge step by step for uploading documents to creating an account with them which you need otherwise they don’t process your documents. I didn’t get the basic DBS check service which they charged me £124 for, yet they want more money. Please don’t waste time and money with them.

I contacted CRB Direct to ask specific questions about DBS check ID. I was surprised when I was informed that I was not eligible for the check I wanted due to my employment status, as another company seemed happy to take my money. Ross provided extra context which made me re-read the information I had and realise this was in fact the case.
I'm glad Ross took the time to look into my query rather than simply answer the original question. Great service.
