Total awful unreliable company. Booked a day in advance to go to a dinner. Never arrived on time. No letting us know. We chased. Attitude was so couldn’t care less. Lied about almost there. It wasn’t. We ended up having to book another cab. Don’t use. Mentioned to others inEdinburg all say the same. Horrible money grabbing shambles.

At 8 am I booked a taxi for 12 pm. For a journey across Edinburgh city centre (from near the zoo). Was cancelled at the last minute. I was told it would be a long wait for another one. If you need a reliable pre-booked service, you should go elsewhere.

Lucky to get one. Booked a cab for the airport yesterday for this morning and didn’t show up and nobody answering the phones! Worse than useless. Don’t go near them with a barge pole. And all you get from the drivers is moans about not having enough fairs when you get a cab with them!!?DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS!

We were very disappointed with the service at City Cabs, we had a couple of lovely helpful drivers, but OMG we had more unfriendly, derrogative, and very anti wheelchair/disabled people, civility costs nothing, why should disabled people be any different, and if your drivers are not happy with wheelchair users,or disabled people then they are not in the correct job.
If I was asked to recommend a cab firm frim my family or facebook friends etc, I am really sorry guys it wouldn't be you guys😔😔😔😔😔

Arrived back in Edinburgh from a week's holiday in Gran Canaria around 02:00AM in the morning.

After a lengthy wait going through the passport line my brother and myself were looking to travel through to Glasgow the same evening.

We owe Saleem (V391) a huge thanks for the rapid pickup from Edinburgh Airport and delivery straight through to Glasgow.

Highly professional, fair price, prompt delivery, and at a time when buses/trains/subway would not be available until the morning.

Would give them zero if possible as simply didn’t show up after waiting 30 minutes and booking days in advance. Had an I’ll party member at Dalkeith country park and they had the audacity to phone us and say they couldn’t send a taxi 30 minutes after they were meant to be there and they don’t care cause they’re busy, avoid this poor excuse of a taxi company if you can

We booked the white wedding cab and another black taxi to take the bridal party to our venue in December. Unfortunately three of our party members had a delayed flight so we didn't need the black cab as they re:arranged to travel directly from the airport to make it on time.

The black cab arrived first. When he arrived, I explained the situation, apologised that we would no longer need this service and reassured that it was all pre-paid, we would not seek a refund due to the inconvenience, there was no loss of income. Esp. with the impact from Covid. At this time the white cab arrived. The black cab demanded that I take his car instead as he "was first in the job". I explained that I was getting married and had booked their white cab (at a premium). Again, reiterated that it was all pre-paid and apologised for the inconvenience for the black cab driver. He then proceeded to scream abuse at his fellow taxi driver, who was of Indian descent, in the middle of the street at 7am. Absolutely obnoxious and racist behaviour. Do not use them for your wedding.

Booked cab 1 hour before. Waiting 40 min after time . I had a very important appointment in the vet surgery with my cat. Can’t believe! Horrible service . Very disappointed!

Booked a taxi to take me to Edinburgh airport for an early flight, driver text when he was five minutes away with his eta, reg number and car type. Driver himself was friendly and helpful

Absolutely shocking service. I booked a taxi to meet me at the Calton Road exit from a train that arrived at Waverley at 11.25pm and it was placed on hold in case the train was delayed. I rang 30 minutes before the train arrived to say it was on time and to ask for the reservation to be taken off hold. I said that I would ring again if it was delayed but otherwise would expect the driver at 11.30pm. The operator said that was fine. I rang when I got to Waverley as I'd not received the driver's information only to be told the booking was still on hold! I was then lectured about their drivers not having wasted journeys. There was no concern shown for my safety (a woman travelling alone) or an apology. I then had to ring again when the taxi still hadn't arrived while I was standing in the dark pickup area. I'll never use this firm again as clearly they're not interested in safety or service.

Do not use if you want to go to the airport- the guy came 30 minutes late although I had booked my ride 2 hours before in advance.

He picked us up from literally down the road and he made us board the taxi from the side where cars where passing. (Health and safety completely unknown to them)

Not recommended at all. AVOID

We had six separate trips with three taxis for each trip over two days they all turned up like clockwork.

If there was a NO STAR option I would have picked that as the company and the Director I spoke with was absolutely rubbish and unprofessional!
I ordered a taxi on their app to get me to the Mound in plenty time to get in to see an exhibition as visitors had to be there before they closed the doors. Their driver went to a completely different street and then eventually after I had to call the company they let me speak to the driver who admitted he had made a mistake but said he would get to me as quickly as possible however according to their app time for him to get to me it would have left us 4 minutes to get from the bottom of Leithwalk to the Mound so was never going to happen!
The driver said I should call their office and ask to get my tickets refunded and when I did I spoke to one of their Directors who was very aggressive and rude on the phone trying to give lots of reasons as to why as a taxi firm they couldn’t refund my ticket because in the terms and conditions they can’t guarantee that their drivers will always find the correct street!

I will stick with Uber in the future as City Cabs Director seemed to try and push the blame on to me!

I am sure that the director in question will if he bothers to read all the bad reviews online will try and come up with a great story as to why they weren’t to blame but most people know different!

My advice to anyone needing to book a taxi, use City Cabs if you don’t need a taxi to arrive on time or find your street as Sat Nav seems to have passed them by! Also, you will be ok if you only need to arrive at your end point with say 2 hours to spare, you should be fine with that other wise pick a different company and don’t bother complaining to any Directors as in the end it will never be their fault and will most probably be your fault!

Waited 30 minutes in the rain but didn't come and didn't pick up their phone. Had to cancel appointment because the cab didn't come. Thanks.

Recently booked a taxi to take us home from a restaurant in city centre. Mother is 98 and frail. Driver was so helpful and kind. He explained his route straightaway which was convoluted due to road closures. His handling of mum both in and out of taxi was professional and patient. I have found this standard of service with city cabs drivers before. At the moment they are fighting against the Covid restrictions and fewer taxis on the streets but the gentleman on Saturday certainly maintained a good sense of humour .I also love the App which details exactly who is picking you up and when. Well done guys.

This firm used to be reliable, but is offering a very poor service now. Booked a cab for 1845, and when it didn’t arrive by 1900 left home to try my chances on the street with a bus or passing taxi. Meanwhile, kept trying to phone city cabs but the line was constantly engaged. When I finally got through, after 15 minutes on hold listening to praise of the “trusted and professional” city cabs firm, I finally learned that my pre-booked cab was five minutes away from my home. This was at 1915. No phone call to alert me to delay, nothing.This was not good enough, certainly neither professional nor trustworthy.

They do seem to be struggling at the moment. I've had a couple of instances where cabs booked through the app haven't turned up. The app accepts the booking, says it's confirmed, whereas in reality it seems to be just a request - if there's no taxis they won't honour the booking. Maybe it's a post-covid thing, have used City Cabs for years and don't recall these kinds of difficulties. Their drivers are generally charming and polite

One star as cannot give no stars. Totally let me and my family down for our mothers funeral. Having pre booked 4 days in advance and taken advice on timings etc AND confirming on the day and being told they were indeed on there way, 1 out of three taxis turned up. One having gone to the destination rather than pick up point. We were all totally stressed out trying to rebook taxis in an already highly charged moment. When rebooked and on way the attitude from all the taxi drivers was appalling even though they knew it was our mothers funeral. No apology. We had also pre ordered 4 taxis to collect us from the cemetery after the funeral as well for 12:30. Not one turned up on time, all went to wrong cemetery even though we had given concise and clear instructions (entrance where Dean Path meets Queens Ferry Road, how difficult is that???) which they all claimed had not been passed on by their controllers. They persisted by phone that WE were in the wrong place and again no apology, only attitude. The last one turning up 25 mins late. Ruined an already difficult day. Disgusted by them all quite frankly and still reducing me to tears as we had made sure all planned so NO stress. Totally belligerent and rude across the board. They let us down. Don't fall for the 'trusted' service they claim to be as they are not. I cannot give any advice to prevent this happening to anyone else as pre booked, confirmed and, when asked, gave detailed and the only possible directions. I can"t move a cemetery after all!! Don't rely on them. Big and sad mistake.

The driver already had £4 on the meter when i got into the cab, almost what the journey i was taking usually costs in total, meaning my journey cost double what it usually does. He also missed the turn for my house so i told him an alternate route he could take which he ignored and instead decided to drop me off 5min away from my house. I took a taxi for safety and this defeated the purpose. The attitude of this taxi driver makes me unlikely to use this service again.

On the 24h of July my partner was stranded in Edinburgh because her pre booked taxi was given away to a passenger on the street. She was then told that she was classed as a no show (* After watching passengers get into her cab) - and that no cabs would be sent out to rectify City cabs taking on a customer who was not meant for that cab.

To make matters worse the interaction on the phone with city cabs was met with denial and a lack of interest which was disapointing and obnoxious. Rude customer service and being yelled at down the phone when city cabs were in the wrong is unnaceptable.

It was fortunate that the person requesting the taxi was not vulnerable as they would have been stranded on their own. City cabs is a dire firm - showing no remorse or responsability for customers( women in particular) being left in the street.

I would never use city cabs again and strongly advise anyone booking with them to reconsider. They are a disgrace.
