Worste company I’ve ever booked with we go to Newcastle and every time we have been there we book a time back but the earliest they have been is 3 hours late and to add to this the drivers are cocky as even when we have water for hours genarrly just they don’t care worst service ever wouldn’t recommend to anyone unless u have 24hrs a day spare genarrly the worst company I’ve ever seen think I could do better with just me in my car so please don’t book with these ur wasting u time swear on my family’s life worst company ever please let them rot don’t know what there doing

My flight from Teesside airport was 6am.
I intended to turn up at the airport by 5am (the airport is 20 minute drive from my house).
I booked a taxi on the app, the day before the flight (giving them plenty of notice). Booked it for 4.30am. Also paid my £20 fare in advance.
This is a trip that I make every 4 weeks for work. I always try to use Boro cars instead of uber, to support local business. However, I always seem to have problems with them; drivers often don't bid for my job from their app. I often have to ring up on the morning of the flight to chase it up, to ensure that a driver is on his way.
At 4.20am, still no driver on his way.
I rang the taxi office, and asked if a driver had been assigned. I was told that one driver was currently at the airport doing a drop off, so he'd see if he wanted the job. I said how would I know if he'll say yes? He said he'd keep me on hold while he finds out.
He got back to me a few minutes later and said that there is still 10 minutes before the job 'goes live' (on their app, presumably), at which point I'd find out if any driver wants to pick me up. I said no, its 10 minutes before I need to be on my way to the airport!
Starting to get anxious, I asked what are the odds that a driver would actually take this job? He literally replied: "erm, one out of ten" (at least he was honest).
Right, thank you, I'll book an uber now. Cancelled Boro taxis, booked an uber, cost me less than boro cars did. Turned up 6 minutes after being booked. Thank God for uber! So reliable! I have this problem with boro cars every time I go away for work, which is every 4 weeks, you'd think I'd have learned my lesson by now 😂
Just before posting this review, I've been reading lots of other reviews on both Google and Trustpilot. It seems like every other customer has had the exact same problem that I have, so I don't think my one bad review will make any difference, in a sea of bad reviews.
From now on, I'll use Uber instead. With their track record, I don't think it'll be long before Uber have taken over, and boro cars no longer exist. Its a shame, because boro cars are local, but if they can't do their job, they may as well cease operating and make way for a real taxi firm.

Was charged £9 .00 for a 2 mile taxi ride rip was ripped off unless someone cn tell me differnt

Turned up almost half an hour late and charged us the same price, last week ordered a taxi and it turned up then left within a minute not stopping and the driver cancelled ride, don’t recommend and won’t be using again, used to be a lot better.

We pre-booked a taxi to go to the Boro game today and it failed to arrive on time. A call to the office, gave no reassurance that a car was on its way, so we had no option but to cancel and change our plans. Poor customer service. Unreliable and will not be using this company again. Makes pre-booking completely pointless!

RIP off, £ 4.00 to go into town £6.20 return. I was told this was down to “Surge pricing” I have used this company for over 20 years. Now they just rip you off. Never again.

Save yourself time and money particularly if you are booked onto a specific train and do not use. We booked a cab in advance as we needed to catch a train. Cab didn’t turn up resulting in a costly experience.

Try to book a taxi at around 7.30am for 4.15pm on a Tuesday and Thursday to get home from work most weeks, 80% of the time I end up walking home. The majority of the time I stand there as the app says a taxi is on the way and then it gets cancelled, rinse and repeat, latest being 4.45pm when I ended up walking home through one of the roughest areas of Stockton. What makes it worse, is if you try to call you get an automated message saying your taxi will be there soon.... Absolute sham of a company, what happened to taxis being booked, not drivers allowed to choose and cancel on a whim?

Absolute joke of a service, waited 25 mins for a car to be dispatched via the app then 5 mins before pick up the driver cancelled and a new driver allocated the job, waited another 15 mins, informed taxi was 2 minutes away and was watching its location on the app, it never arrived as it was sat waiting on a road nowhere near our location so we went walking to find it then got a notification saying we missed the pick up and it was cancelled, get some drivers that know the area or can read a sat nav, absolute shambles of service and will never use again

Appalling company when it comes to reliability. Book a taxi at least an hour before you need it because it will turn up 40 minutes late. This is the second time in a row and nearly £20 down the drain as I had to find other ways of getting into work.

I booked a taxi online on the 05/01/2026 for 0820am to Eaglescliffe station as I was going to London my train was scheduled for 09.21am.At 08.31am my taxi had not arrived no text where it was or when it was coming was recieved? I called there number spoke to someone who asked my name and details of the journey then told due to the bad weather they were behind on pick up times but I was next to be picked up.After another 10 minutes I called again explained as above they assured my taxi was on its way another 10 minutes later now I’m starting to panic that I’m going to miss my train to London called again this is now 08.48am this time I said I’ve got a train coming @ 09.21 I’ll have less than an half an hour to make it from Eston they sent a taxi within 4 minutes.I explained to the driver the importance of my journey we made it with 2 minutes to spare? The driver was very understanding and polite no problem there.Its just the booking process and no updates where my taxi was it’s a complete nightmare and very stressful.

Three pensioners left waiting outside at midnight in December for 50mins. Had booked and PAID for car to pick up at 11.30 did not arrive until 00.20. Then wanted extra money for second drop off which I had booked in the first place. It’s no wonder Uber are doing so with poor service like this from a traditional taxi firm

Awful service ....booked via app with an advised 31 min wait which was ok ...car allocated quickly .. then after 10 minutes reverted to awaiting driver allocation ...another driver allocated with 28 min wait ...which didn't change for 15 minutes ..then this was cancelled and another car allocated ...i cancelled booking and was cheekily advised they would charge me for the privelege ! Problem is they have a near monopoly in the teesside area

Worst taxi company i have ever used.

Taxi booked well in advance didnt even bother to show up. Save yourself some time and use uber which turned up within 5 mins of booking.

If there was 0 star I would have picked that absolutely terrible company ordered a taxi for 03.00 its now 03.25 and its still not here they're an absolute joke and I ordered it on the app an hour before it was required

Taxi arrived late, nearly missed my train because the driver took me to an alleyway to sexually assault me. He got away with it on "lack of evidence" so clearly there's no cameras for passenger safety. If you ever see the name Himel Ahmed on the app, walk home instead. Or better yet, do NOT use Boro Taxis

Today was my first experience with a Boro taxi 🚕. They responded quickly, proving themselves to be reliable, dependable, and eager to work. They send a brief arrival notice for their drivers, but typically the drivers arrive earlier than stated. The drivers are calm, friendly, and chatty. Boro ensures a smooth ride. Needing a taxi in Yorkshire? "Book Boro".

Inappropriate comments.asking personal questions and intrusive questions not a nice experience after having chemo and was not well.hope the hospital realize what horrible experience this was

Booked taxi to take us to the bus station never arrived, rang and was told we would be put down as priority, never arrived rang again still no taxi, luckily a neighbour came to our rescue we may have missed the coach going to Heathrow airport and missed our holiday. We will never book a taxi with them again. They also didn't send the taxi our friends booked with them so four independent people were let down by this company. Don't use them ever.l wouldn't give them any stars but had to put 1 so l could give them this review.
