Do not pre-pay!!!! Having fully paid £160 weeks in advance the company did not provide the service promised. The cab sent was too small for our party leaving one person stranded with no offer of help or apology from driver or call staff. They have essentially ignored the complaint, offering £10 off a service I will never use again.

This is my second stay in Edinburgh and I've used City Cabs both times. The drivers are helpful and the vehicles are clean.
I did have a little trouble booking a taxi back to the Airbnb I was staying at as the automatic system kept bringing up my morning booking. After a phone call the taxi arrived in under 10 minutes.

Called city cabs and ordered a taxi, booking accepted for a couple of hours later. 20 minutes after the expected pickup time, I called to ask where the taxi was and was told no driver allocated yet. I asked why did you accept my booking if you didn’t have a driver and I was told they’re all self employed and have no obligation to pick up the hire. So, they take your request, you think you’ve ordered a taxi but you could end up like us, not getting one and missing your train. I will not use them again.

Hopeless. Automated garbage that doesn't understand what you tell it.

Booked a taxi for 5am to take me to the airport. When checking the ride on the app I was informed that it was 15mn away decided to wait but 10mn later the driver cancelled the ride!!
Had to scramble to get a bus with the risk of missing my flight.
Will not use them again

I am hoping this is the correct taxi company. Husband and I arrived to Edinburgh Airport from being in Munich and our own pre booked taxi let us down. Saw cabbie dropping off and he must have seen my dejected face and stopped and very kindly took us to Airdrie. Lovely gentleman he was. After 2 flights and being totally sleep deprived after Ger v Scotland game, he was an abs Godsend !!. Date of pick up was Saturday 15th of June, if you can thank driver on our behalf I would be most thankful. Mr and Mrs Casey Airdrie x

Look out for the newspaper report about this firm they claim to be no1 in Edinburgh for reliability I called a cab 4 hours in advance for 13:30 explaining it was important to be on time “yes the girl said “ that’s it booked for you she said , ff to time it was due I called back as no text email message or call !! She says it’s always as near as possible he’s dropping someone then coming to you ?? Ff15 minutes still no cab but a text with another assigned from broughton to Colinton ?? Then another text from a completely different driver who also called me 36mins late the driver arrived 😡4 very wet and disappointed children got int his car having missed a full half hour of the timed fun they had booked ,
I called the office to complain and dippy David “supervisor “gave every excuse under the sun them hung up on me because I raised my voice (just to stop his absolute drivel ) if your in Edinburgh avoid this firm with all your might because they are a bunch of cowboys still with their so called 95 years of experience lol 😂,

Stay clear of this company we had pre-booked taxes and they did not arrive on time when you try and call them to chase where your tax is they then advise you that they are still looking for a Taxi and Driver for you. If you need to get somewhere on time then I suggest you use a different company.

An appalling experience. Despite scheduling a taxi several days in advance, the car did not arrive. After 10 minutes I phoned as I needed to get to work, only to be told they were still trying to locate a taxi. The attitude of the call handler was disappointing and dismissive, and no apology was offered. I will not use this firm again as they appear to be a shambles with poorly trained staff.

Great drivers and easy to book. What’s not to like?

Best taxi in town download the city cabs app and enjoy rides. They never charge you different prices all the time. I always use city cabs on busy time never charge me extra like other app companies do.

A City cab driver entered my property in error, before driving his cab off my drive and onto the grass. As there had been heavy rain and flooding, the grass was soft and the cab got stuck. This resulted in my friend and neighbour having to tow him out. As the cab driver had damaged my front garden, necessitating the filling and re-turfing of the damage ares, I requested his insurance details, which he withheld. This surprised me, as had i accidentally damaged his cab, I’m sure that he, and City Cabs, would have claimed off my insurers! As a result, I have been in touch with the Enforcement Officer at Edinburgh City Council, who is responsible for licensing black cabs in the city. He told me that the cab driver should have given me his insurance details, and that he had been admonished for failing to do so. To show good will, I suggested that the driver make a modest donation to a nationwide charity that I have been raising money for, and that would be an end to the matter. The Enforcement officer has just got back to me to say, “in regards to compensation the driver did not express any intention to compensate you for the damages caused by his vehicle. I can understand this can be quite distressing, unfortunately I am not in a position to demand the driver provide any compensation. If you would like to take it any further in terms of getting compensation for damages then I would encourage you to make a claim through civil courts or contact the police. It seems that I have now have no choice but to escalate this by contacting the police in order to get the cab driver’s insurance details.

Asked for a price from a driver at Little France (Edinburgh Royal) and was quoted £58.60 to Mc Donalds at Newbridge.
The mileage is less than sixteen, what planet are these people from, anybody who takes them up on that is clearly as MAD as they are.

Booked a pick up from airport. And they dispatched taxi which was 25 min away. Absolute joke. Just tell the wait is that long when calling and would have not even booked.

Booked a taxi a 6am for 8.20 am and phoned at 8.40 to be told not even been allocated a driver. And they could not even give an eta .bad service all round

Got charged a £5 fixed extra fee for Edinburgh airport as apparently the airport charges taxis this for drop offs so was £20 fixed fare for 3 mile trip from hotel with meter switched off. Avoid using this service if you can.

I always book the taxi 24 hours in advance to get a disabled person to his day centre activities. I got my booking code. No taxi arrived. When I called , city cabs said they were busy. They said it doesn’t matter if I booked in advance because I was not the only person who used advance booking.
If their drivers can’t commit to bookings, the. The system should say fully booked so I can try elsewhere.

When contacting The Company telling Them that there is a problem with one of their drivers “Alfi” cab Nr 118 and asking if it’s normal for city cabs to go without meter the company does not answer Bach? That is bad customer service
