AMARE LIVING IS “AMARE” LIKE A LIVING NIGHTMARE!

It all started with the postage on the “free samples”. I had to pay £5 for each due to the stamps being previously used. That should have been my first indicator that this company was going to be more trouble than it was worth. However, I placed my order at the beginning of November 2024, the site says it takes 7-14 days from ordering your bed to delivery (with busy periods and offshore delivery taking 4-6 weeks). I got an email on the 19th November saying my bed was assembled and ready for delivery 1st of December.

The 1st of December came and went, so I tried to contact their customer services (joke). I gave up on that and tried emailing them instead. This is very hit and miss as well. Eventually I was told the fabric wasn’t available and they could not get hold of any. How odd, as they’d told me the bed was ready. Since I hadn’t liked any of the other “free” samples I decided to ask for the order to be cancelled and a full refund, as they now had now admitted they hadn’t even started making it. As soon as you utter the words “refund” Amare Living is on you like a shot! Suddenly they had found the fabric and the bed was magically constructed, all within the span of an email! Wow. Too good to be true? I thought so, so I kept trying to ring and email to get confirmation as to how this had happened? I did actually get to speak to someone and they asked when I wanted the bed to be delivered. I said ASAP. They had to work out logistics wise when they would be in our area and said they could deliver 14th December.

I spent the day before delivery dismantling our bed and taking it outside, ready to accept delivery of my new bed. I should state I’m in my 60’s and my husband was recovering from chemo so this was quite a task. The 14th arrived and sadly, we never head anything from them At 19:00 we accepted they weren’t coming and had to take our old bed back in and reassemble it. We’d tried to call customer services throughout the day, no answer.

I was convinced I’d been scammed and emailed asking for a full refund as the evidence showed me that there was no bed. Guess what? That word refund triggered an instant response! The called, emailed, inciting this bed was ready and could be delivered tomorrow. Adam himself even promised a refund of £67.50 for the fitting and delivery of the bed. At this point I had asked them not to contact me until they had cancelled and given a full refund as I didn’t want to be dealing with a scam anymore. The next day, we had a phone call at 18:30 from an unknown number, a delivery man asking if they could deliver and install the beds that night! They arrived at 22:30 and installed the bed. Both of the men commented on the poor quality of the headboard. They insisted it was “the cold, it’ll go back to normal if I just smooth and pat it out. If not send us some photographs and we’ll replace it for you”. Finally at 23:45 they were done and I had my bed.

I kept just smoothing and patting the fabric, hoping that would help. At the beginning of January I sent photos and explained that the fabric had got worse and when could I expect that replacement I’d been promised in person. Eventually I got an email saying that fabric isn’t suitable for the design of headboard and a new one would look the same… what? So now they were blaming me for picking this fabric even though I’d originally asked for a cancellation and full refund as it was out of stock? I emailed and tried to call asking them several times over the next few months but was being ignored completely.

I got in touch with my credit card company to see if they could help, they were very helpful. After 30 days they got me my money back. Amare Living would only offer me a 50% refund and said I could keep the bed. At this stage I didn’t want this awful bed. I’ve read a couple of recent reviews that say that this company was under new management since January 2025, I’ve no evidence of this as I have been dealing with Adam up until April 2025.

So in summary, avoid Amare Living like the plague. Adam should be ashamed of himself and this company. Apparently Adam is a local councillor, I only know this as he called me constantly while my credit card company was working on my refund from a number that was tied to a government site. I wonder if they know that Adam uses his phone to harass pensioners? What would his local constituents think about this?

If after reading this you still want to place an order with this company I would advise you to use your credit card when purchasing anything from them, that way you can get your money back. I have since had to pay my local council to take this bed away as charity shops wouldn’t accept it due to no fire labels on the bed.

Needed a single bed for my son. As previously an excellent service from start to finish, telephone call to confirm order in detail, delivered within the time frame, good communication. Good quality and is perfect for what we wanted.

Bought a super king and small double with a mattress and cant be more than happy with the service i got the lads gave me precalls and kept me updated with delivery times and also guided me to choose what colours would be best for my house - Fast delivery too absolutely amazing

Avoid avoid avoid

Bed was delivered in October 2024, side panel damaged in transit and despite chasing the company the replacement never materialised. After having the bed only 3/4 months the gas lift broke, basically a super king size bed gas lift attacked at an angle into the chip board side panel. This warping pulled out the screw at the head of the bed putting the mattress on a slope. Could not get hold of the company. The base they put in also has no support and despite not storing anything in the bed it fell out and warped. We tried calling, we emailed and now we are claiming our money back through our bank. Beautiful bed but very badly made and non existent customer service: sleeping on a mattress on the floor when disabled is no fun. Shocking. Just save yourself the stress and go elsewhere.

Definitely boycott this company

This review is 100% genuine. I’m starting with that because I know I won’t get the chance to respond when the company inevitably tries to discredit it.

I contacted Adam about two ottoman beds and a floor-to-ceiling headboard. We began discussing measurements and details on 5 July 2024, and I paid just over 50% deposit that same day. All communication was via WhatsApp. Despite repeated requests, I didn’t receive a breakdown or invoice until 8 September — more than two months later, and only on their third visit. That delay alone is telling.

The real problems began with the installation on 18 August at my brand-new flat. The fabric colour used didn’t match the swatch I selected. Adam admitted they’d changed suppliers and failed to inform me. They removed the incorrect panels, leaving behind tools and a heavy compressor, which had scratched my flooring. After they left, I discovered my previously unused bathroom toilet was left in a disgusting state, with brown stains everywhere, under the seat, on the rim and flooring around it. It was genuinely revolting, how they could treat someone else's new property this way is appalling!! I also found scratches on the floor and scuffs on the walls — no apology or solution from Adam.

They returned on 31 August with the correct items. I had cancelled personal plans to accommodate them for a lunchtime delivery, only for the worker to show up after 5pm with no call. Again, no apology, they seem to think it's normal to turn up whenever and without a courtesy call. One panel for the headboard was too thick and needed trimming. I asked that it be taken back to the factory for a clean finish — the worker refused. Despite the job being incomplete, Adam pressured me into paying another 50%, citing “cash flow issues.” I paid, against my better judgment.

That night, after Adam left, I found more issues: glue marks on skirting, more wall scuffs. Adam told me to clean it — even though the glue had hardened. He said he’d fix it next visit. And sure enough, they chipped the paint off while removing it from the skirting during their following visit.

Final visit: 8 September. One worker arrived with such strong foot odour that it lingered for almost a month despite deep cleaning. He then cut the final panel on my bedroom carpet — something I specifically asked not to be done. There was dust and wooden chippings everywhere and engrained into my new carpet, no care at all for other people's property. The result? A rough, jagged, poor-quality finish on the headboard panel. I pointed it out; they brushed it off.

After they left and I began cleaning, I noticed glue smeared across the headboard wall — only visible when wiping with the fabric grain. Adam said I should’ve spotted this earlier, but it’s their job to check their work. I made the final payment, even though I was already deeply unhappy.

Later, I found another issue: they’d cut around my plug sockets so poorly that standard plugs wouldn’t fit. I told Adam. He told me to try other plugs. When that failed, I got a quote from my electrician and asked Adam to either fix it or cover the cost. He refused, wouldn’t communicate directly with the electrician, and then had the nerve to ask me to get the quote lowered. I never asked for a discount on his shoddy work — the double standard was astounding. After months of back and forth to cover my electrician costs, Adam paid me on 23 November 2024.

There’s so much more I could share to explain what happened in detail, but unfortunately, I’m limited by the word count. Honestly, I could write a whole novel covering everything from when it began in July 2024 to when it finally ended on 23 November 2024.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS - TRUST ME IT'S NOT WORTH IT

EDIT: Since putting this review in on TrustPilot I've been contacted by someone new who says they took over the company in January and they have refunded me the £67.50 (the cost of installation).

I’m not one of those people that leaves negative reviews for no reason, in fact I don’t think I’ve ever left a 1 star review on anything. I had to leave an honest review here after the horrific experience I had with Amare Living, and want to warn others to stop them going through the same nightmare. I ordered my bed on the 4th November 2024, the site says 7-14 days from ordering the bed to delivery but it was almost 8 weeks (arriving 17th December).

Trying to contact Customer Services was a joke; ringing would get you nowhere and emails were inconsistent, sometimes they’d reply within a day, sometimes they’ll just ignore you. The first delivery date I got was in the first week of December. I know this is a busy period but they had emailed confirming the bed was completed and ready to deliver. I got rid of my old bed and was ready to go, I even took an unpaid day off work to ensure I could accept the delivery. I was then told it would be the 14th of December instead. Ok, no problem I thought. I can sleep on the floor for a couple of weeks. I had to take another unpaid day off for the 2nd delivery attempt and I was told I’d be called up when the driver was close. Sadly, I didn’t get any call. At this point I was panicking as I thought I’ve fallen for a scam and lost 2 days of pay.

I tried calling (no luck again) and emailed explaining the situation and asked for a full cancellation and refund as I thought I was being scammed and there was no bed. As soon as I said the word “cancel” and “refund” my phone was flooded with calls, emails and texts while I was working, trying to arrange a different delivery date. Adam also texed me saying he’d refund me £67.50 for the fitting as a “sorry”. I told them again I want a refund as I’d lost faith in the company. Then on a random evening, around 6pm, I had a call that my bed would be delivered and if I could accept it. I agreed but had to get my parents to accept the bed as I’d already missed so much work and couldn’t afford to lose anymore money. They finally delivered the bed at 10pm that night and put it together, leaving just before midnight.

I got home to sadly find that the bed wasn’t even the one I ordered. It was the right fabric and size, but the headboard panels looked much smaller and the frame and legs were different to what was advertised on the site. For one the bed I ordered had feet, and the one I got had none. I emailed querying the difference as I wondered if maybe it was because I’d ordered the bed as an ottoman rather than a standard bed… no response. No response on my phone calls either. At this point I accepted defeat as I’d already spent £500+ on the bed and lost some of my wages due to having to take time off work to accept 2 deliveries that never happened. I also never got the refund of £67.50 I was promised. And yes I emailed about it in January 2025 and it’s now April 2025, and still not got it.

Please, PLEASE avoid this company at all costs. I sadly had to give this company 1 star as they will do anything to get your money. Any refunds or compensation they say they will offer for any inconvenience are lies. The bed also doesn’t match the images on the website. Samples they send never arrive, and when they do the postage isn’t right so you have to pay for the “free sample”. I had to pay £5 for it at the post office. I wish I’d kept the card now or paid via my credit card so I had proof. This honestly should have been the first red flag but I wanted to support a small, local business. They will sadly ghost you as soon as the bed is eventually delivered after a few failed attempts. Even if it’s wrong or there’s parts missing (which, there definitely will be). So please, please avoid this company at all costs.

UPDATE: 19th Mar '25 Following on from my initial review on trust pilot dated 21 Dec '24, Amare Living contacted me at least 4x times offering to help sort out the issues and asking me to remove my review on trustpilot. Since I emailed them with the information required, and agreeing to review or amend the review once the issues had been sorted they have not even acknowledged my email in any way whatsoever. It seems as though they only show the positive reviews on their reviews page. Have posted pictures of the emails from Amare on my google review if it would be useful for anyone as cannot seem to add images to this review.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Don’t even think about using this company. You have to nag them repeatedly just to get fabric samples sent out. Then when they finally do, they don’t bother to put the correct postage on. So I’ve had to pay for the ‘free’ samples to be delivered - something they have repeatedly told me they will refund and they haven’t - it’s a month later, the money isn’t coming.
Incredibly unprofessional in every possible context and the quality of the samples after all this was SHOCKINGLY POOR!
Read trustpilot reviews, wade past all the repeated fake reviews and you’ll find all the reports of terrible quality beds, pressurising delivery men and no possible chance of a refund when things go wrong.

You requested samples which were sent to you, unfortunately for the first time in years the same postage we have been using, for some odd reason you had to pay £1.50 towards the postage. This has been refunded back to you, the £1.50 which you paid was refunded to your PayPal account.

Samples are sent out free of charge where we pay for the postage and pay for the fabric too. I just want to make it clear, you haven’t purchased a bed nor have you made any other payments. The money you was owed (£1.50) has been refunded back to you.

We have had thousands of amazing customers over the past years who have been more than happy with the quality of the fabric received on the bed.

22 reviews on your profile and every single review is negative. We try to please and look after every customer but sadly, sometimes this isn’t the case clearly. No matter how much extra effort is put into providing a FREE SERVICE.

We hope wherever you get your bed from you have an enjoyable experience, as we wish this for every potential, past, present or future customer.

Delivery is something we don’t have any control over- we use independent couriers who control their own planning and delivery of the items. We try our best to work with these couriers so they can deliver in a timely manner. Parts of your review is incorrect and falsely based which hasn’t even been your own experience, as you haven’t even purchased a bed from us. You got sent free samples and that’s it. No other interaction or dealings have been done with you from our side.

Once again thank you for taking time out and writing a review.

DO NOT BELIEVE THE POSITIVE REVIEWS. If this company was so good, if something went wrong they would communicate. They made no effort. Failed to deliver within 3-4 weeks. When I asked, they said it was coming, or being processed. I initiated a refund with my credit card company 5 weeks after order as item still not arrived. Courier turned up 2 months later with the order! No email from the company to warn me. Refused delivery.

I totally get your frustration and why you feel the way you do. I genuinely apologise for this.
Your headboard was sent out three times, each with a different courier. The first, two couriers damaged or failed to deliver in the time which then just prolonged the whole delivery period. The third courier managed to try deliver upon which delivery was refused by yourself- by then I understand it was too late.
