A mistake ordering with them
I ordered a kuffiyeh in December 2023. its been 10 months. not only has it not arrived, there has been no contact from them. their customer service gives you an automated ticket but then doesnt contact you. there's no way to get a refund.its fraudulent to benefit of a catastrophe
Scam
Ordered two keffiyeh on 9th January. I expected to wait due to the situation in Palestine. By July I'd not received my goods nor any update, no email, no social media updates. I emailed in July to request an update, tried to contact Abuwear again in September and no reply to either of these attempts. I emailed in early October requesting that my order be cancelled, so that I can order from Hirbawi directly. No response. I emailed again 18th October, asking Abuwear to cancel my order and refund me.
I 100% appreciate the incredibly difficult conditions that Hirbawi are working under. I did not expect delivery within a week or even 1 month. However, Abuwear have had plenty of time to email updates to customers, to provide social media updates, and to refund orders where they know they cannot fulfil them. Abuwear continued to take preorders and to take people's money for months, knowing that they would not be able to fulfil those orders. Order directly from Hirbawi, not this scam company.
Threaten them with small claims, it works!
Ordered a kufiya on Jan 3rd, emailed to ask for an update in July and received no response. They had disabled IG comments and given no updates, except for one where they say that were saddened to see people complaining and doing charge backs seeing as the factory is so unstable with blockades etc. They really tried to guilt trip us and gaslight us into thinking we were the villains who simply wanted to be kept up to date with the whereabouts of goods we paid for. It goes without saying I never expected it to be delivered in even 6 months, but now it has been TEN months and not a word?. They should be ashamed of themselves, fully taking advantage of our wanting to keep the factory going and show our solidarity, taking our money for thousands and thousands of orders they could never fulfil. Are we sure they're even on the right side at this point?, alternatively go to wearethepeace.com if you want a clothing brand that actually gives to the cause. Today 20th October I have no update, no scarf and my bank would not refund the money as it was over 6 months ago
UPDATE 26TH DECEMBER 2024
They canceled my order and issued a refund within 24 hours of my emailing them notice of my intent to file a small claim. They replied back with all sorts of guilt tripping nonsense like they are not the ones exploiting the situation but I got what I wanted. My advice would be to not let the scammers get away with it and file a small claim on the uk.gov website- its £30 to file and WHEN you win (because you will, their conduct cannot be justified) then they will pay that £30 fee and whatever the judge decides. It's a very easy process don't be deterred
Fraudulent company profits off of genocide and trauma.
This company is so vile. I ordered two Hirbawi scarves from them on January 10, 2024. They were on pre-order, which I expected meant that the company had received some guarantee that they were being produced and sent to them. But no. Abuwear was simply taking “pre-orders” on every color Hirbawi had ever produced, without even knowing whether they would ever be produced again. They continued to do so through September of this year, benefiting off of genocide and trauma and taking thousands of people’s money. Many people who support Palestine do not have a lot of money and just wanted to show solidarity. Abuwear refuses to answer emails and has turned off comments on their social media, leaving no way to reach them or cancel our orders. They insist that they’ve been “transparent,” while not stating up front that they were taking money for items that might not ever be produced, issuing little to no information on their stock or supply chain, and never responding to anyone’s emails or requests for cancellation. I recently lost my job and I need my money back. I stupidly tried to be patient with them, and now, of course, my credit card company won’t help me to dispute the charge. If you ordered from Abuwear, get your money back NOW before it’s too late. The grossest part is that I found this company because they were listed as an official seller on the Hirbawi website. I hope Hirbawi drops them after the way they have scammed thousands around the world and cashed in on the trust and love that people have for Hirbawi.
Order 2813
Like so many others I'm getting frustrated by the lack of information and response - all the while they launch new product and sell stuff still on their website. I placed an order on December 3rd 2023 and the very same day, they withdraw the money! And now 10 months later I'm still waiting! I have sent them request for cancellation - no answer! I have sent them request for them to just choose whatever color keffiyeh ( if the ones I have ordered are too popular and in high demand) - no answer! I have no choice to send a compliant to my bank and let them do the work from here. Shame on you for taking advantage of this dire and heartbreaking time in Gaza !
Zero communication, thousands of orders unfulfilled!
I really just want an update! I did everything they suggested. I opened several tickets, I signed up for their email updates, I’ve sent messages from Instagram and emails, and they have gone completely ignored. Their model is OUTRAGEOUS and had I known what they were doing from the start I would have never ordered from them! I placed an kufiya order in early December of 2023, under the idea that they would take 3-4 months to ship per their website. It’s been nearly a year and I have received nothing. The company has ONLY JUST turned off their pre order option, while they have a back order to fill for a year. If they knew Hirbawi were unable to fill orders at that capacity then why would they be taking people’s money?! We all understand the dire situation in Gaza and the West Bank. But it is Abú Wear’s responsibility as a carrier of Hirbawi products to account for how the supply chain may have been disrupted. That means turning off the pre-order option if you are unable to meet those needs. In not doing that, Abú Wear, albeit maybe not intentionally, has scammed thousands of people and thousands of dollars. Not to mention they have taken zero accountability for it.
Hirbawi directly will only allow one kufiya per person, so why Abú Wear has allowed for people to place several orders at a time is inexcusable!!
I have not cancelled my ordered nor have I requested a refund as I still want my order! But as more time goes by and Abú Wear remains silent on their end, I fear I will never get it.
Avoid purchasing from them at all costs!
When they communicate great
When they communicate great. First order arrived after a short while.
Second order placed & extra added via website chat, promising however since then I have received nothing nor did I get a reply to emails, website chat or answer to phone calls. Waiting since November 2023, it’s now October 2024
My order came on time and perfect…
My order came on time and perfect condition, dont see what all the bad reviews are about!! The owner is the most loyal guy ever!!!
Hope This Helps...
Paid £65 via Paypal for 3 items back in early June .
I mailed Abuwear several times , and several times via Paypal when I raised a dispute . Not a single reply from them .
Anyway , Paypal refunded my £65.00 today .
This maybe a route for others still waiting on refunds to go down .
Any potential customers looking to place orders, DON’T.
I have no other way to contact you so here goes (you can put me on your social media posts if you want, I simply do not care anymore). Please refund my money for order number #3547 which you cancelled on 10th September (which took you weeks) and still haven’t refunded the money. Is it not general practice to refund the money as soon as YOU cancel an order? Any potential customers looking to place orders, DON’T. I love supporting small businesses but have never come across a business like this before, there is no way to contact them, I have been waiting 9 months for my order and they don’t seem to take accountability for anything.
Never received a refund for cancelled…
Never received a refund for cancelled order.
After leaving a review here on 7th september I received an email saying they have cancelled order and refund---went to bank today but no refund and nothing pending!
What is Happening Abu wear?My order from January #4514...please make sure my refund goes in I want it for crowding funding family out of Gaza.Seems like I am not the only one being told cancel/refund then nothing happens.I have to write it here as never response or update.
Nine months later
Nine months later, and still no sign of my order! I ordered two kuffeiyehs from them in January this year, I have e-mailed them on three seperate occasions, and have not had a single reply/apology/explanation from them as to the no-show of my items. In my third e-mail I requested a refund, which has not come. I have e-mailed a FOURTH time, again requesting to cancel my order and for a full refund…hope they will have the decency to respond and to repay me the money! In the meantime I bought directly from Hirbawi, and they have been excellent. So AVOID ABUWEAR!!!
Defensive Attitude and Poor Customer Service Despite Valid Complaints
I placed an order with Abú Wear in December 2023 for two Hirbawi keffiyehs. Having received no updates by February, I emailed the company seeking information, but my inquiry went unanswered. Throughout the early months of 2024, it became clear that I was not alone in this—numerous other customers expressed frustration online about the lack of communication regarding their orders.
In March, the company issued a general circular explaining supply chain issues with the Hirbawi factory. While the challenges were understandable, the continued silence from Abú Wear directly was disappointing, as they did not provide personalised updates to customers waiting for months. By August 2024, with no progress on my order, I requested a refund.
Even after my request was acknowledged, the refund was not processed in a timely manner. I had to follow up several times, ultimately threatening legal action, before the refund was finally received in September—nearly nine months after placing the order.
During this time, I managed to obtain the same Hirbawi products through the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, receiving them within a week of ordering. This demonstrated that other vendors were able to manage the supply chain much more efficiently and provide the customer service that Abú Wear lacked.
In addition to my emails, I also attempted to contact the company via direct messages on Instagram, as I noticed numerous customers in the comments sections of their posts were also seeking updates. Many of these customers, like myself, expressed respect and solidarity with the company’s mission to support Palestinian artisans, but we simply asked for basic information regarding the fulfilment of our orders. Unfortunately, when these respectful requests for updates went unaddressed, frustration understandably began to build. In response, Abú Wear disabled commenting on their Instagram posts, which only served to heighten concerns and erode trust. Comments on their Facebook page also raised questions about the company’s reliability and where customer funds were going, given the lack of fulfilled orders and communication.
Whilst Abú Wear’s support for Palestinian artisans is commendable, their approach to handling customer complaints came across as defensive and dismissive. Rather than addressing legitimate concerns about the long delays and poor communication, they seemed to deflect responsibility by framing customer frustration as a lack of solidarity with the Palestinian cause. It is important to note that supporting a worthy cause does not absolve a company from maintaining basic standards of customer service.
Furthermore, one of the most frustrating aspects was the company’s continued acceptance of new orders, despite clearly struggling to fulfil the significant backlog of existing ones. Customers were led to believe that their orders would be processed within a reasonable time frame, only to experience months of silence and no clarity on when, or if, their purchases would arrive. This practice, combined with their reliance on the cause to justify delays, added to the frustration. It is not acceptable for a business to continue taking customers’ money when they know they are unable to meet demand.
Abú Wear needs to recognise that clear communication, transparency, and accountabilty are essential for any business operation, irrespective of the source of goods. I hope they take feedback on board and make the necessary improvements in their customer service and fulfilment processes. In the meantime, both Hirbawi (direct online) and PSC do seem to be able to fulfil orders in a timely fashion.
Keep it up!!
What a dedication, offering original keffiyehs from Hebron on pre-order base, so we don’t have to wait for an opportunity to order, announced on short notice, only to stand in a digital queue until either everything is sold out or something crashes. Beats the Oasis tickets fiasco!! I’ll happily wait for my order to arrive. Keep up the good work and don’t forget to say Free Palestine!
Do not buy from abuwear!!! Buy directly from Hirbawi.
I ordered 2 keffiyahs on February 22nd, 2024 and have emailed multiples times. It is now September 6th, 2024, and there is still no response or order status update from Abuwear. Hirbawi works very diligently on their direct website to only sell what they can commit to shipping, but it is clear that Abuwear does not. There are mass atrocities happening in our world and all we want to do is say that we stand with liberation. Now abuwear has made a ridiculous post on Instagram not taking responsibility. At least refund our money so that we can send it to families and for food and supplies in Palestine and Gaza.
Money paid, zero product, zero communication
I ordered a keffiyah in February. It wasn't a pre-order, they said it was in stock and was ready to ship. That was the last I heard. I've emailed plenty of times, not a single response. My only hope is that my money is in Palestine helping someone and not lining the bank account of a pack of fraudsters.
Kufiya order not delivered and no refund
I ordered two Hirbawi kufiyas from Abuwear in February, my order was acknowledged with no further communications since. Enquiry to their customer support email received a ticket number but no response.
After reading bad reviews on here I emailed requesting a refund as this is an acceptable delay and zero communication, not even an update on website.
Got an automatic email cancelling my order saying refunded but it has not been refunded, will I get a refund? Who knows.
The thing is I would be happy to wait for delivery in the difficult circumstances Hirbawi is operating in, if there had been an occasional delivery or restock update.
A company that fails to communicate with its customers is not a company I want to deal with. They should be fulfilling old orders before taking new orders.
Update 20/9/24. I received my refund after sending some more emails.
Never recieved a refund for cancelled order.
Hi, after my review, you have canceled my order #3057 on August 26.
I have recieved a notification of cancellation however you have not refunded the total amount. I have checked my bank and the money is not there.
When will you be refunding my order?
I have sent an email - no response.
Anyone else have the same issue.
Currently trying to get my money back a…
Currently trying to get my money back a day after I made an order of 6 Hirbawi kufiya's costing £162.
Unfortunately I only saw all these horrendous reviews the next morning (today) after I made the order with them & on seeing them I've immediately emailed them to confirm I am cancelling my order & to remind them I also have the 14 days cooling off period to which is legally binding. I did get the ticket. 🙄 & no response from my cancellation email. I also rang my bank this morning to tell them the situation.
I feel like I've been duped. Their website looked so professional & I checked that they had a physical shop too which they do. Most upsetting is the fact that they seem to be profiteering off the pain & suffering of the people in Palestine.
***** Anyone who has this happen to them I recommend you email trading standards in Belfast. The more people bring this to their attention the more likely they'll be investigated with action taken against them to stop scamming people. *****
Please don't go ahead with any purchases after reading these reviews where people have been left with money being taken & no goods.
I have bought from Hirbawi for the last few restocks & they always kept me updated & I received the kufiya within 3-4 weeks. How awful that Abu Wear have done this. Shame on you.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
Charlatans of the first order. No address on the Website, no Customer Service Contact details, offers a non functional support email address, Do not reply to emails and their alleged ticket support system, is non-existent.
My order was placed late 2023, took my money, acknowledged the transaction. Totally ignored ever since. This Charlatan business which is living of the plight of the inhumane tragedy of GAZA, purports to be supporting GAA clubs in North Belfast and associates itself with Irish Language promotion, is nothing other than a scam.
