I’ve just visited the Barnet shop, and the staff are welcoming, very knowledgeable and helpful.

I’m not a runner, but would like to start running! I have known issue with my feet, and finding the right pair of shoes to start with is key if I’m to succeed with this running venture. I did a gait analysis and was given a thorough explanation. I shared I’m in the process of seeing a podiatrist for orthoses as well, and was given good advice and recommendations.

Is always my first choice for running shoes and any other associated products. Great service, loads of knowledge, and a wide range of products on sale.

Went into the Nottingham store today for a pair of new running shoes the store itself has a great selection of running shoes. I was helped by Mark who was absolutely fantastic he was outgoing chatty and had amazing knowledge on all the shoes available and which ones would be the best suited for me.

This place is an absolute must for any runner. Nicholas was super helpful, he took so much time helping myself & my friend make sure got exactly what we wanted without any feeling of pressure. His knowledge and advise was fantastic & im over the moon with my new trainers. Will be back for sure 👌🏼

I would highly recommend the Chipping Barnet store in London. I took my husband who has Parkinson’s to find a new pair of trainers. As a former marathon runner he is keen to get back to running but more moderate running and power walks
Tom the team members who helped us was fantastic he listened to what he needed and gave advice. He then brought out a wide selection which my husband was able to see how they performed and their comfort on the treadmill whilst assessing his gait for stability in each pair.
Really excellent service - needless to say we bought 2 pairs and will definitely return

Excellent experience buying running trainers in store. I don’t know the shop assistant’s name in the Barnet store, but he was very knowledgable and helped me to find a pair of trainers that were right for me after carrying out gait analysis. Would definitely recommend if you’re after running trainers or anything to do with running. Thanks again :-)

I’ve wanted to get into running for a while but was always hesitant because of past shin splints. My partner and I dropped in for advice on the right footwear, and Andy sorted us out straight away. He took the time to analyse my gait and foot shape to find the exact shoe and insole combination I needed. Andy was exceptionally helpful and friendly, balancing attention between us and other customers seamlessly so no one felt rushed. We both ended up walking away with new pairs of shoes, insoles, and some extra gear. Couldn’t recommend Andy and the Up & Running team highly enough!

Nice shop, Sallyann was so helpful and knowledgable - exactly what I needed as a running novice to help me find the right shoes for me.

I visited the Birmingham store today. It’s my first time at a running store and doing any sort of running gait analysis.

Jamie was so incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and patient.

Despite clearly having fantastic knowledge of running, he did not come across as patronising.

I would 100% recommend visiting this store if you’re looking for a new pair of running shoes and unsure what to go for.

Excellent service from Rob in the Cheltenham branch

I went in looking for some advice on running shoes and spoke to one of the team, who I believe was called Marine. She was excellent from start to finish.

I explained some of the challenges I’d been having with a pair of shoes I’d recently bought, and she took the time to listen and understand what was going on. She then carried out a gait analysis, which showed I was slightly overpronating. This was useful to know as my gait seems to have changed a little since my previous analysis.

Marine talked me through the different options, including stability versus neutral shoes, and helped me understand what would suit me best. She also advised me on the right shoe size. She was knowledgeable, confident and clear throughout, and I never felt under any pressure to buy anything. In fact, she made a point of saying her priority was to make sure I left with the right information, regardless of whether I made a purchase.

At the end, she even wrote down the recommended brand and size on a card for me to refer back to.

I was really impressed by how friendly and knowledgeable she was, and by how quickly she was able to understand what I needed and recommend suitable shoes.

An excellent experience overall. Up & Running Milton Keynes will definitely be my first port of call next time I need advice on running shoes.

I went to the Nottingham branch of Up & Running today in search of a pair of trainers, having recently started running again. I didn't catch the gentleman's name who advised me (he had silver hooped earrings on!!), but I wanted to say a big thank you to him. I must have spent 2 hours in there and he was incredibly patient and helpful. He had so much experience, both professionally from advising about trainers over the years and personally from his own sporting endeavours, and I really benefitted from his expertise. Although they did not have my size in stock, I managed to order my preferred trainers from the U&R website. Thanks again!

Great personal service. Very knowledgable advisor. Patient and friendly.

Very high standard of customer service. Bought a pair of Altra trail shoes, which after light use over 8 months began to fall apart, on both shoes in the same spot - clearly a manufacturing defect. Took them back and there was no quibble and they refunded me.

Will buy my trail shoes elsewhere as I want Scarpa's, which I have had before and are v robust, but for the next pair of road shoes I will return here with my business.

Popped in for a new sports bra and trainers. SallyAnn was excellent in ensuring I left with everything I needed. Really good advice and bra fitting. Trainers also fabulous fitting and I remembered to get monkey socks too. Wouldn’t go anywhere else for my running equipment.

I visited the Barnet store today for a gait analysis. I was served by Max who was absolutely wonderful. Kind friendly service, and very knowledgable and keen to help.

Max immediately noticed the issues with my current running trainers and suggested a more supportive shoe to help with knee pain.

I’d definitely recommend this store to anyone who is looking for a kind, friendly and knowledgeable experience.

I had a really good experience in the Sheffiel store and the staff were really helpful, advising me which shoes to get. The shoes recommended to me were not in stock in store so I was given a discount code to be able to order them online. As they were a sale item, there were only a few left. Luckily my size was in stock.

I then had issues with DPD and their delivery. They tried to deliver outside of delivery hours, wouldn't deliver to a locker (Up and Running said it wasn't suitable for that) and then when they tried to redeliver the third time, DPD sent them back to the sender without trying to deliver them.

I contacted Up and Running about this and I do understand that this wasn't their issue but their response wasn't very helpful. They told me they were refunding me and that if I wanted the shoes again I would have to put in a reorder. I explained these were a sale item and that I wouldn't be able to just simply reorder and that I also didn't think this was a fair response. When I explained they were now out of stock, I was told to keep 'half an eye out' on the website 'just incase we get your parcel back' or 'just in case someone else returns the same item'.

I explained that to some people £100+ running shoes are not a given, they are a luxury. I had saved for these shoes and spent months trying to find the right fit for my running style etc and I felt that the customer service response was not appreciative of this. As someone that really struggles with running, this experience has put me off ordering from Up and Running ever again.
