Visited the Sheffield store with a 'prescription' from my podiatrist to deal with a foot problem. Liz was knowledgeable ,friendly and helpful and I ended up with a pair of trainers that fitted the bill perfectly. Also got a 15% discount as I'd been referred. Great service.

The guy running the shop explained the gait analysis and gave very useful feedback. He was very knowledgeable of suitable shoes for my feet. At no time did I feel coerced and I went away happy that I had the right shoes to suit my needs.

I had a gait analysis done in the Milton Keynes store by Marta. She was knowledgable, friendly and very helpful. She helped me choose some new running trainers and advised on running socks too. I’m really happy with the service and Marta was lovely.

Me and my partner went in for new running shoes, Viv was quick to ask if we needed anything and bough out all shoes we were interested in. Very quick, informed and helpful service from all staff members

MARINE in Milton Keynes is for me the best in store to see for running shoes..
Her professional attitude to her job and the small details in choosing the right running shoe..
Marine checked I had the right size(different brands, different running shoe size)
Marine, advised me to try the running shoes on the treadmill(I did)
Marine, told me the discount as I was entitled to because I’m running MK Marathon at the till..
If your autistic and you like running and Marine is working Milton Keynes, then buy your running shoes…
If Marine is not working in Milton Keynes, I’ll go elsewhere, it’s a vibe I pick up in the store and the body language and the tone of voice… and my gut feeling is always right..
Milton Keynes up and running is a good store, but the next pair of running shoes I’ll buy,I will try another up and running store in England…

Visited the Bristol store. I popped in unexpectedly to get some new running shoes. The lady in store was brilliant - very personable and patient. She ensured I tried a variety of shoes and styles, assessed my running style and provided advice. There was no pressure to buy the most expensive shoe and instead the most comfortable. I would definitely visit this store again and recommend to other runners.

Fantastic service. Spent time on the gait analysis to make sure I was fitted with the right trainer. Friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. Wouldn't go any where else. Highly recommend.

Marine was really helpful and confirmed my choice of shoe would be the right one for my needs. She checked the fit and made sure I knew what to do in the event that I needed to return them, if when wearing them about the house they were not comfortable. She also advised me of an offer on socks which was great.

Don't go if your face doesn't fit their customer base! And I was all polished from work. Wonder how they'd treat someone wearing ethnic clothing or foreign!

Went on a work lunch break at 13:40ish on 1st May. Store was quite busy, with customers trying things on and still deciding. There were three sales assistants on the shop floor. I stood there waiting at the til for help, 2nd person in the queue, clearly needing assistance, but not one person acknowledged me. No 'we’ll be with you in a moment', no eye contact, nothing.

Worst part!... I was already waiting while two of the assistants were still with customers who hadn’t even finalised their purchases yet, while the third sale assistant was serving his customer. There was more than enough time to at least acknowledge me, but instead they all just carried on and then each of them moved on to complete transactions one after the other with their customers pushing in front of me, without any of the sales fools saying a word to me. I was just stood there feeling completely invisible and disgusted at this point!

Eventually, when the third assistant went to the till like the others, I just said 'wow' out loud because at that point it was honestly shocking. They all looked at me like I was the problem AS THEY DO, and I simply said that the least they could do is acknowledge a customer who’s been waiting.

As someone who wears a hijab, experiences like this make you very aware of yourself in a space where you shouldn’t have to feel that way. I’m not saying that was the reason, but it definitely didn’t feel like I was being treated the same as everyone else, and that’s not a nice feeling to walk away with.

I ended up leaving without buying anything. I won’t be giving my business to them, which is a shame because I went in ready to purchase and now am being inconvenienced!

Increase the diversity of your team. It might help your customers feel more welcomed!

Visited the store in Nottingham this week to purchase some new running shoes. Emma who worked at Up & Running was very helpful and made sure i came away with great fitting and comfortable shoes. I wouldnt usually spend so much on trainers, however i was confident she helped me purchase footwear that will enable me to get the best from my workouts. Thanks Emma!!!

Sallyann was very helpful very knowledgeable and also gave great expert advice. Nothing was a problem she was happy to help and gave me many options and talked me through things.
Gave me confidence within the journey too. Excellent service, friendly and felt at ease throughout.

Went to the Nottingham store on 29/04 for a gait analysis and for my first proper pair of running shoes after completing couch to 5k. I was served by Emma who was so kind and reassuring, putting me at ease as she explained all I needed to know about the process aswell as explaining the terminology to me.
Emma brought out a range of different trainers that suited my running style and offered advice. I came away with a great pair of new trainers and feeling a lot more confident!
I can't thank her enough and would definitely recommend U&R Nottingham!
