This was an awful experience that cost a fortune. Not only was the haircut terrible, with as little time spent on it as possible by the barber, who, as I had the window seat on the Kings Road, was more interested in the passers by and wasn't shy about it. My hair has steps on the side and looks like it has chunks cut out of it, not sure whether to shave it or try and get a buzz cut to stop getting comments. I asked for a scissor cut at Ted's, maybe they are only skilled with the clipper. Anyway, while the focus was not on the haircut there was energy put into a ridiculous and frantic pantomime of needless boring gimmicks, a hair wash with a brush, a hot towel that was put on my face for less than 30 seconds - why bother - aftershave was sloshed everywhere and I left smelling like duty free section at Luton Airport, and to top it all there was a bizarre perfunctory grabbing of the arms and shoulders through my suit jacket. If this was meant to be a relaxing uplifting experience it wasn't it slip slap bosh get out the whole thing was done in less than 15 minutes. And, to add insult to injury you are confronted when paying with a tip choice of 15 or 20 percent with the barber looming over you. I was a walk in, next time I will be a run past. Don't go there, whatever well meaning interesting ideas they had have been corrupted to parody. I see a lot of 1 star reviews and I can see why.

For a so-called experienced barber, the barber should have know better for not too short cut and use thinner scissors when someone has a some crown issue!

I have visit yesterday the barber shop on Duke street with the hope I can get my desire haircut after waiting months to grow my hair.
I’ve been travelling 40 minutes by train just to reach this guys I had a good recommendation from some influencers and some good reviews.
I can only say that this was the worst hair cut ever I had in my life, my hair looks like a helmet and impossible to fix in any ways.
I have select a senior when I booked my appointment with the hope he’ll understand my request, but the guy doesn’t have any skills whatsoever after rushing me even though the shop it was empty.
I’m absolutely furious about this experience also through the fact the cost is was £80 for such a nonsense experience.
If the person responsible for this shops see this message better come up with a compensation.
Now I have to spend extra money on different barber to fix the helmet and wait more months to get to my desired hair cut.

I should have read reviews of Ted's Grooming, Mayfair before making the booking. I assumed,( wrongly as it turned out) that a Barber shop in Mayfair would provide a high class , exclusive haircut experience. With a tip, I paid £51 for a 30 minute treatment. This included 2 hair washes, only one needed and a head massage. I normally pay £15 ( OAP rate) at my local Barber's and I always get a far better haircut than the disappointing cut I got at Ted's. It was hugely disappointing, The parting wasn't properly done and there were areas where the hair wasn't cut properly or evenly blended. I chose Ted's, thinking that I would get a high quality and exceptional haircut especially considering the price of the cheapest cut at £45!!! This is Three times the price I would normally pay at my local Barber shop. Sadly, I could not recommend Ted's Grooming based on this experience

I got a severe allergic reaction from some product these guys used on me (Moorgate branch). I've had my hair cut by barbers all over the world and never had a problem before. God knows what these guys are using. Now I'm covered in a rash and hives and going to the doctor about it. So I paid £60+ to have the rest of my week ruined. Thanks a lot

Gone seriously downhill. Used to be a predictably good experience but sometime in the last year the wheels fell off and now it’s predictably bad. Unfriendly barbers make you feel like you’re a massive inconvenience to their day, all the signature little add ons are gone and the cut is well below the average £20 high street job. Hoped it would turn around again, but today’s was an all time low: never again.

You know when the barber is so distracted chatting with his colleagues that he can’t even remember which is your side parting so cuts in the wrong spots, and you pay £70 for it.

I wrote this review, they asked me to reach out privately. Follows a fruitless exchange where they demanded my receipt, bank statement, and photos before even considering my feedback – ignoring basic UK consumer rights. This shifts the burden onto the customer instead of trusting their account or investigating internally.

Not surprised about the low ratings. Avoid the Moorgate branch.

Booked for 3;45. Showed up at 3:40. At 4pm, Still sitting, waiting. Paid £5 extra for a fixed time appointment. No explanation, no apology for any delay. Rip off. Lacking moral decency.

Worst barbering experience I’ve ever had - left with a massive gash on the back of my neck after razor ‘fell out’ of the barber’s hand. Would never visit again - painful and unsightly. No compensation or discount was offered. Really poor service

I went in for the basic ‘cut a long story short’ haircut at £45. The guy spent 9 minutes on the haircut. Literally 9 minutes. He asked if I wanted my ears waxed, I said yes assuming this would be included if the £45 haircut only lasted 9 minutes. He then did a few chops and finger pulling as a “massage” without really asking. Then I get to the till and it’s £38 on top of the £22.50 deposit I had already paid. At the very least is should have been specified that I would be charged extra for this. I wish I had gone to a normal barbers - it would have been cheaper and at least they would have spent longer on my hair.

I need to express my serious disappointment with the service I received today at Ted’s Grooming, Dorset Street. After three years as a loyal customer, today’s rushed ten-minute beard trim and shave was unacceptable for the price I pay. This is not the level of service I expect, and if this is the new norm, I will have to take my business elsewhere.

I trust you’ll understand the importance of maintaining your usual standard.

I had a haircut with Eyup in the Kensington branch. Great classic men’s cut with side parting that has grown out well and remained neat. Very happy with the service.

I have Visited Startford-Westfield branch on Sunday Afternoon with prior Appointment booked.
- No Communication from Barber.
- Super Rushing
- Spend £62 for 20 minutes service.
- Nothing to relate with their online pictures and videos.
- ⛔️ Highly Not Recommended.
- 0 Customer Service.

Mary did a fantastic job on my beard got me looking sharp and confident. 10/10 would recommend and I’ll be back next time in the area.

I had a haircut from Mounir, who was so gentle and polite. He knew exactly what I needed without me saying much. I won’t lie — I’ve always had problems with barbers because of my hair type, but Mounir worked his magic! He was quiet and made me feel comfortable the whole time.
Highly recommend this place if you want a professional cut with great service. I’ll definitely be back!

As per usual I had had a fantastic hair cut by my favourite barbers.
For the past 5 years they have never let me down always a professional service.

I always get my hair done at Ted’s Churchill place every month. It’s my go to, and has been for 5/6 years. I’ve always loved that little extra luxury, the nicer touches, the hot towel etc - so don’t mind the extra few quid, as it’s a treat.
However, the last two or three times, it’s just not the same. The little things don’t seem to matter anymore. Today, I was a walk in - there was one other customer (never used to be like that?) so I was seen immediately. I was offered a drink - I always have the lovely Turkish coffee - it never arrived. My initial hair wash was just a rinse, no shampoo. The initial chat was interrupted by one of the other colleagues shouting over to my barber in foreign tongues, and not rekindled. The hot towel was lukewarm, the massage half hearted, no effort to crack finger joints etc, one press on the shoulder.
Previously, for so many visits, it’s been sharp, crisp, attention to detail, buzzing - it’s now very lacklustre and half hearted. The haircut itself was ok, but I can get that anywhere - it’s just not a worthwhile treat here anymore.
I’m wondering if a couple of good managers have been lost from here - I’m going to try other branches in future, I think.

I booked the Full Ted treatment for £65, but was later charged an additional £16, without having realised I had agreed to an extra service. During the treatment, the barber recommended ear waxing instead of ear flaming, so I accepted. What I was not told is that while the ear flaming was included, the ear waxing was not. The final bill looked higher than I expected, but I was in a rush and paid. After verifying the price discrepancy with my booking email, I emailed customer service, who informed me of the extra cost of ear waxing. I explained that I hadn't been told it would cost extra, otherwise I might have rejected the service, and asked if they could kindly refund me for the extra service I did not intend to purchase. They replied that "unfortunately" they "do not offer refunds for the services provided," but that "necessary actions will be taken to prevent similar misunderstandings in the future." More than unfortunate, it sounds like a convenient practice. I see they respond to negative reviews by suggesting to email them in order for them to help - in my case, they really didn't. Also, this time the quality of the cut was lower than what I used to receive from Ted's Grooming Room a few years ago. I would not have written a review about the cut, but that would've warranted 3 stars. For the shadiness, though, I'm giving it 1.

Went in for a a haircut and beard trim,hair was hardly cut and beard was cut good however I'm hard of hearing and wear hearing aids which I removed while having treatment,the gentleman kept asking me question which obviously I could not hear,once he had finished he charged me £76 which is ridiculous for the amount of hair he cut I will not be visiting again.
