I have not long finished paying off finance on my previous car, and now I have a new car with Startline, would definitely recommend this company to anyone looking for car finance who don’t have the best credit history :)

My Startline Agreement Number: 80192826 will no doubt be a worthwhile lesson for the company to digest. .....Over 500 similar bad experiances on Trustpilot is the uncomfortable truth for Startline Motor Finance.....A fundamental lack of administrative controls and gross incompetence led to Claim 721MC750 being issued in the County Court and judgement being enetered against them for £10,514.32 with a further £16,215 owed for non payment of invoices for storage of their abandoned vehicle that cannot be driven. I have no doubt they will claim not to know anyhting about it even though I have given agreement number and CCJ claim number. They suggest everyone call them on a phone number nobody answers or email John who never replies. My experience echoes so many others... I took delivery of a vehicle before Startline paid the dealer and found the car to have so many issues Startline asked to me ans at my costs to obtain an expert report. The cost to remedy all faults was more than the car was worth being the reason I told Startline not to pay the dealer and take the car back. I further exercised my rights and asked that they unwind the agreement pursuant to my consumer rights 14 day cooling off period. They stated I had to let them try and remedy the faults even though my rights did not allow that. To help them because I had paid for 8000 worth of extras to be put on the car they took it back 10 times on the understanding the agreement had been terminated and a new agreement started if they sorted the issues. The car was never fixed and has been abandoned on my drive since August 2025 on notixe they would be charged storage. Nevertheless despite the agreement being terminated they took payments for the terminated agreement from my bank. When I stopped them taking any further payments they unlawfully started registering default notices on my credit file for a non existent finance agreement preventing me from being able to finance a new car. Startline have been found guilty by the Financial Ombudsman of this same conduct with others. The FOS has reported " Vehicle Quality & Refunds:" In cases where cars were found to be of "unsatisfactory quality," the FOS has ordered Startline to end agreements, refund deposits, and pay compensation for "trouble and upset". Do not be afraid to issue a claim in the small claims Court or better still contact the no win no fee companies such as Slater Gordon and ask them to pursue your damages at no cost to you other than their success fee which Startline will pay. Having spent 8 months speaking with everyone from John H to the CEO I was continually aksed on Trustpilot responses to contact them so they can fool the public into thinking they are proactive and not reactive albeit they are as responsive as dead slug!

Latest update....despite the agreement being terminated 28.4.25, judgements on them in the County Court and final demands for unpaid invoices Startline is still preventing me from moving on by keeping default notices on my credit file unlawfully. They cannot grasp they owe me money not the other way around. They have been sent emails from finance companies saying they cannot finance a car for me becaue of the Startline defaults for expunged agreements which remain unlawfully on my credit file. The company has a predilection for animus and spite where they try and defend the indefensible with filibuster. A statutory demand is being served shorlty for unpaid invoices for storage. If not satisfied there will be a petition published in the London Gazette for the winding up of the company and notva day too soon!

Very happy very fast and affordable

I recently got finance through Startline organised by V12 in Wolverhampton. The whole process was smooth and painless. Due to my age and lack of financial history my options were limited. But Startline came through with a reasonable amount and options on the car I wanted. Unlike other dealers, making the package fit the car rather than the car fit the package. 10 out of 10. I'll see you 4 years for my upgrade.

From finding the perfect car with Stoneacre to negotiating to driving away, the process was so easy, no stress whatsoever and everyone was so lovely! Startline are lovely to deal with, everything was explained very well. Very slow process and have had issues with car and wanted too send car back but process takes too long too resolve
