I crossed paths with skiset commercially a while back. I see from Linkedin that the same people run it now. They offered significant kickbacks to represent them but insisted on terms and methods that we felt significantly compromised integrity so we refused to deal with them. As a result of that experience, when I see websites advertising a partnership with them, I personally tend to trust those sites less.

I clicked onto their site from a link on a mountain site for our Whistler holiday - offering a discount on ski hire a week before our trip. Wish I hadn’t. I ordered skis only to discover that the $ quote for skis was apparently for US$ not C$ - not made clear till afterwards. I immediately contacted Skiset and they told me the would refund. Now more than 4 weeks later and still no refund - they seem to have stolen my money and I get electronic email responses. Worse - when I got to Whistler and rented I realised the price they were offering was more than twice what I actually paid locally. No discount, no service, misrepresentation and more. STAY AWAY. I will be contacting authorities as I suspect a scam.

Awful company.

Returned skis and equipment to the shop following an injury.

Was told in the shop, if I showed the website the voucher the shop gave me, the website would refund.

There then followed a never-ending demand for documentation and stuff not alluded to in the shop before eventually, they offered a refund.

The refund was delayed. No apology. Just rubbish, the whole set up.

Terrible rip off. Charge more than SkiShop!
SkiSet was recommended by the Ski Club of GB but I will never use them again. I paid them in advance for ski hire. My friend hired same skis in the same shop for same number of days and paid close to HALF my price (I paid CHF110, she paid CHF53).
I emailed their customer services to complain and after 3 rude emails from them still no explanation.

Awful company - avoid at all cost. Failed to deliver and refused a refund - an absolute disgrace

Awful, terrible customer service. Worst I've ever encountered in my life. Unbelievable. Booked a specific category online - the shop could not supply the right skies, 0% refund. They try to get away with comparing the skies they show on the website with ske skies in the shop as "similar skies" when it is full rocker black crows compared to piste skies. They've basically stolen my money. Worst company in the alps. A shame for the skiing industry.

This is a terrible terrible company. They are virtually impossible to get hold of, close for 2 hours for lunch and go back on promises made by their own suppliers. PLEASE DO NOT USE THEM. They are liars.

Online chat on website was rude, entirely unhelpful and she didn't even bother to stay on the line even though she hasn't responded to my questions.

Emailing the email address on the website is useless, no response.

I requested a specific model of skis, 3 weeks in advance. They didn't have it in stock

Note that this review is only for the Aiguille Rouge hire shop, as there is at least one other in Arc2000.
The staff are helpful enough, but I must warn of our experience of poor quality of rental skis.
This shop is used by the large tour operators, such as Crystal and my impression is that this regular feed of customers has resulted in a level of complacency when it comes to quality.
Three years ago, one of our party had a screw fall out of the ski binding, resulting in a nasty fall and a long walk home.
This year, all was going fairly well with the fresh snow. But when snow became hard packed, there was no grip at all - in fact dangerous. So I got them to resharpen the skis, and they were just the same.
We know from our ski holidays in Austria last year how using well sharpened skis allow you to maintain control across all manner of compacted snow and ice.
The comment from the staff here was that they do not sharpen their skis to this degree as customers would complain if the skis cut into their gloves, which admittedly we found in Austria, but for me safety is paramount, so unless they offer what I consider safe skis, I will be looking elsewhere.

When you subscribe to Skiset News you occasionally receive a mail with a 10% off discount offer, if you book your skies for the upcoming season before a certain date.
In order for Skiset to celebrate this week's abundant snowfalls and the upcoming ones, 25/11/2016 I was offered an EXTRA 10% OFF discount for any booking made before 28/11/2016.
I went for it. I saw the discountcode was already pasted on the homepage which opened from the link in the mail. This time I tried to combine the discount code with another discount code I received previously. It wasn’t possible, so I pasted the current "whitefriday16" discount code back again. Surprisingly a pop up saying “an additional 5% discount” showed up. That pop-up would not have shown if you didn’t try to change the discount code. As I did that, I also revealed that Skiset is trying to cheat their customers, only giving 5% off when they offer 10%.
Shame on them.
