If I could give negative stars I would. Helen, who is supposedly the owner was the most unprofessional woman I have ever met. When her company made multiple mistakes, and I pointed them out (lost furniture that was to be delivered to the container), she got upset, said she would not be shipping my furniture and hung up on me. She was holding hostage my $20K worth of belongings and my deposit, let alone I had to figure out how to get my belongings and ship them overseas.
My contract explicitly stated they would take inventory of the products. The first shipment from Wayfair they did take inventory, sent pictures of the product to confirm it was correct. When it came to Pottery Barn, they did not do this. I requested the packing slip and pictures. They did neither. They sent the list I had sent, and I shared that was not the packing slip and I didn't see any pictures. There was a missing chandelier and a dresser that was sent that was not even close to what I had ordered, so I am out of $1500 and a white dresser when all of the other furniture is a soft black.
Helen agreed to one price for storage, and changed the amount in the end. It was my fault that I did not get it in writing, I initially trusted her, that was my mistake. She tried to charge twice for transporting, and I was able to make them take that off of the bill.
They purposely do not take credit cards so you are unable to dispute the charges, this should have been the red flag that kept me away from them!
She was very pleasant in the beginning until she was held responsible for the work.
I wish this woman and her company would have taken as much time with the work that I hired them to do, as she is taking responding to a complaint.
DO NOT HIRE!!! IT WAS A NIGHTMARE!

Our company was contracted to receive and load new furniture from Pottery Barn and Wayfair into a 20-foot container for shipment to Panama. Our responsibilities included receiving manufacturer-packed items and loading them into the container at our warehouse. Our services did not include opening, inventorying, or repacking the manufacturer-sealed items.

Here is a cut and paste portion of our contract referring to services included in this client contract:

Service Inclusions:

• Receiving and loading of all packed, wrapped, inventoried, and labeled by owner household goods and personal effects in our warehouse
• Preparation of export documentation including complete shipper’s export declaration, bills of lading, export customs clearance AES filing
• Toll, fuel, and broker fees at origin
• Ocean freight and transportation through to port of Panama
• Customs clearance of household goods and personal effects in Panama
• Weekday delivery and unloading of household goods and personal effects to one normal access location
• Unpacking of furniture on date of delivery
• Removal of debris on date of delivery

Client stating in her review "My contract explicitly stated they would take inventory of the products" is another false statement.

During the process, all items were received and loaded as per the contract, with the exception of a chandelier that was not shipped with the original order. We offered to hold the shipment until the chandelier was received, but the client, due to time constraints related to her travel plans, requested that we proceed with the shipment without it.
Subsequently, the client has made a claim of non-receipt of the chandelier, despite being informed that it was not received at origin before the shipment. The chandelier was later shipped directly to the client at the destination by the store. The client’s current assertion that the chandelier is missing is false.
Additionally, the client has claimed that a dresser was not received. The dresser was indeed received at origin, loaded into the container, and signed for by the client at the destination. When questioned about the insurance claim, the client stated that the model number on the dresser did not match the one she ordered. However, her insurance claim incorrectly reports the dresser as missing which is false.
After informing the client and the insurance company of the discrepancies in her claims, the client has accused us of holding her shipment hostage, which is not true as the shipment was delivered as scheduled. The client has also filed a complaint with the BBB and posted negative reviews online containing false statements.

From LA to Belize

I needed an international shipper for a move from LA to Belize. I had received several quotes that were shockingly expensive, not to mention, no one could give me an idea of what customs/duty fees would be. Ruby streamlined the process, provided me with a quote, which was SIGNIFICANTLY LOWER than anyone else, as well as what the duty fees would be within an hour! I was delighted! The move went well and I could not have been happier! This is a woman owned business and I like supporting women in business! Sorry guys! Move over for Ruby Moves!

From my first contact with them to destination, everything went perfect. They spent a lot of time explaining the process and answering all of our questions.

Our shipment arrived in perfect condition in the quoted time and the bill was exactly what I was quoted.

We couldn't have asked for better service.

Our satisfaction level is 10 out of 10.

Outstanding service! Treated me like family

Outstanding service--There are too many examples of the quality of care and personal attention I received that I do not know where to begin! Each person I worked with especially Karen and Ayal made me feel like I mattered, like they were helping a family member. I worked mostly with Karen and she was informative and really AVAILALBLE! Especially in a critical situation when I needed immediate help. Helen answered emails swiftly, too. I would like to give a shout out to Ruby partners in Europe Gosselin Moving (Christine was great and in touch) and PacGlobal Insurance in USA (Jovana also has that personal touch)

Honest and great communication

Ayl was a wonderful representative, very knowledgeable and honest. From start to finish our experience was 100% as promised. In fact they underpromised and over delivered. Our items arrived in Panama very quickly. Everything was smooth. I would highly recommend them.

Very good company until you pay the…

Very good company until you pay the invoice then......
where to begin.
We were moving from Florida to United Kingdom, communication was great until they collected items then went downhill from there. Collected 11th October, stuff sat in Miami for over 4 months. Arrived 2nd March.
( that's over 20 weeks, door to door).
My daughter rang regularly for updates and was fobbed off with "it will be on the next ship" each time.
They ignored emails from me, only replied when I threatened to call police and say I think my stuff has been stolen, I was genuinely worried I had been scammed. Truly an awful company. Certainly would not use them again.

Helen was the best agent that I’ve worked with. I had several international moving companies that I’ve worked with and by far this is the best one. I’m glad I spoke with Helen. She is very customer oriented, knowledgeable and detailed. She explained everything to me in detail and also gave me synopsis of what everything would entail from start to finish. Overseas HHG MOVE

I’ve worked for companies who have used Ruby International for several of my overseas transitions and the service has been great. The correspondence between myself, the company and Ruby Intl. has been exceptional and all questions and concerns answered and resolved. Helen always has gotten back to be promptly and answered most of my follow-on questions.

From the very start of enquiring into how to ship, to being delivered to my door I was helped every step of the way. They had nothing but patience with two senior citizens and nothing was too much trouble for them.

I was very satisfied with my shipment of three suitcases to Sri Lanka. I worked with Vanessa, she very professional, helpful, prompt and kept me appraised on the progress. The pickup and delivery were very smooth. I would highly recommend Ruby movers to everyone.

Andrea Moreno responded to my first email within an hour and provided me a great quote. She was quick to respond to all of my questions (via text, which was very convenient!) and was able to get my shipments sent as requested!

Excellent Customer Service and Quick Delivery

I used Ruby International for my recent move from Utah to the Netherlands and had a great experience! Vanessa responded to my first email within an hour and provided me a great quote. She was quick to respond to all of my questions (via text, which was very convenient!) and was able to get my shipments sent out with only a couple days notice!

She provided detailed instructions on how to pack and label my boxes and they picked them up right from my door. She had told me to plan on about 7-10 days to receive my boxes, so I was pleasantly surprised when my boxes were all delivered 3 days after pick up!

I chose to ship my items in heavy duty plastic storage bins, and two out of five boxes did have cracks on the corners when they arrived, but nothing was damaged.

Overall I am blown away by the service I received and will definitely be utilizing their services again! Also love that they are a women owned and operated business ♥️ Thanks again Vanessa!

Horrible company

Horrible company. At the beginning they were in contact frequently but once they got paid in full they disappeared. Not one update from them. My shipment took 4 months to get to the Philippines from Houston. Received dates for shipment of August 15, August 30 Sept 7, Sept 21 and it finally came Oct 19th. When my items were delivered two of the main items were damaged which was verified by the delivery company. when they were contacted by there was response was to send me their policy and said "good luck". I now get to deal with their insurance company by myself. My guess is their insurer will be just as fun to deal with as Ruby. Find someone else.

-there are an estimated 35 documented emails (between ourselves as well as our destination agent in the Philippines and yourself). You were updated on a regular basis on the status of your shipment. Before booking our services, you were informed the door to door transit time is estimated at 12 weeks (door to door delivery was inline with quoted transit time).

-Your shipment was paid for on July 24, 2023. -Your shipment was moved to the steamship line for consolidation on July 27, 2023 (you were updated via email and replied thank you-see correspondence below)

I used Ruby International Shipping services to ship out 5 suitcases from New York to Paris. It's been a real pleasure working with Melissa and Ayal, they have been extremely helpful and cooperative!! All the suitcases arrived in a heartbeat, and they quoted me a much more competitive price than all the other shipping companies I reached out to. I wholeheartedly recommend this service!!!!!

Just used this company to move from USA…

Just used this company to move from USA to Ireland. Horrible experience from the start, after making initial enquiry was hounded by salesperson daily, eventually gave in and was given a quote via video call, agreed to price and after pickup was charged over $2,000 more than quote, then said I could do better but quoted be over $4,000 to return, items sat in California warehouse for over 30 days and then again over 30 more in Belgium before delivery. I would not recommend!!!

We initially received your request for a quote stating 400 CF and issued a proposal. When you spoke to our salesperson, you informed that when speaking to other companies, you have been informed your shipment is more like 500 CF. We scheduled a survey and informed/confirmed you have 550-600 CF depending on certain items you mentioned were a maybe. The final gross volume was 600 CF. You were informed of the volume immediately before proceeding for shipping and disputed the volume (although you were informed of the volume at the time of the video survey) at which time we did offer you the following options:

Cancel the shipment and we will deliver back to your residence
Book another carrier to collect your goods from our warehouse
Ship as is

Yes, if you decided to cancel or book with another carrier, we required payment for services rendered thus far. You did not understand why we were charging anything as in your opinion our time and movers are worthless.

You confirmed that you wished to proceed. We moved the shipment. All was delivered in good condition within the 12 weeks confirmed as the transit time. 2 months later, you emailed informing a box of electrical wires was missing from your shipment. We informed you that other than the free $5,000.00 of total loss insurance in which we included in your contract, which covers total loss of the entire shipment, you declined coverage on your shipment at which time you proceeding to post your 1 star review here and on other sites.
