Anais has been super helpful with organising my house rental. Always warm and friendly, quick to respond to emails and phone calls, and very patient with answering my many questions!

Letting with Romans Estate and Lettings Agency was seamless process. Anais was very polite, obliging and quick to answer any questions we had. She was particularly helpful at mediating between the landlord and us.

Romans overall seems like a large and well established estate agents with well setup services, a safe payment portal, and a lot of up front information. They have a lot of add-in services and deals with other companies such as broadband providers and appliance sellers which can be helpful.

Ayse Yerlikaya was especially helpful as a letting agent, very responsive and clear. She helped get several things sorted out at the start of the tenancy, including chasing up a few things with the former tenant.

My experience with them has been solid so far. The 4 stars is because I was strongly and repeatedly pushed towards a 0-deposit option that I did not want and chose not to take, and it was difficult to get through to the agents at the offer stage and referencing stage. This may be due to high demand in the area we moved into.

Ayse was extremely helpful and efficient in handling our move. Very professional. I wish her all the best.

It has been a pleasure communicating with Anais Payne from the Caversham office. Not only is she so very presentable, she is proficient in her role and responds to communication by return, always going the extra mile to make sure her customers are taken care of. Anais is a credit to Romans!

The process was not good. I have been a Romans client for over 7 years, with my property let through them, but selling was poor. The property was late going to market due to delays in getting pictures taken etc. The property was listed too high, (despite reservations from myself, and multiple times of asking if the price was realistic.). We had to drop the price twice, (both times at my request due to lack of viewings/offers). Romans staff changed mid-process with no explanation, I had to continually chase for clarity and next steps. Lifetime Legal had very poor communication, especially early on, with me having to call and email to chase and find what’s happening. Romans selling didn’t seem to communicate with lettings, and I had to inform my letting agent that the property was being sold, and ask to give notice to the tenants. A completion date of April 8th was requested and agreed to by me, and then missed, with no explanation and no one even responding to my emails on the day! A new completion date of April 19th was suggested, but with me at the end of my tether, and seriously suggesting that I would just pull out of the sale and go with a different agents/solicitors, we finally competed on April 14th.

It’s a shame after having used Romans as my letting agents for so long, but I wouldn’t use Romans (or Lifetime Legal) again.

Update: it gets worse! Almost a week after completing, I have Prosperity Law (who were assigned via Lifetime Legal), asking me to pay them back £400+ for a bill which is from the buyer’s solicitors, and the we already discussed was for information only and not part of my statement of account. These people don’t know what they’re doing!
