Booked a taxi on line and paid in advance. Both journeys they were late and I had to phone to ask if they were coming. Outward journey they were 20 minutes late, return journey was 30 minutes late, the party was finished, everyone had gone, lights were off and we were freezing…. Would definitely NOT recommend

Useless. Always late and never have enough cars available. They just don’t seem bothered or care about their customers.

Longing for the day Uber is available here. It’s no wonder Uber is putting lazy companies like this out of business.

Pathetic. 3 bookings in a row over 15 mins late. Each time I give myself more and more leeway but this time 22 mins late. Missed my train. Pissed off people and I’m fuming. Dont have a bleeding app or booking facility if you can’t even get close to honouring the times.

Excellent service this morning. Bang on time, very polite and helped the heavy case. Star driver to the North terminal.

Prebooked a taxi for 4.40am to catch the 5am bus into work. This was confirmed via email. I am still currently waiting for this taxi to arrive and it is almost 5am. No answer when I try to call them and no other local taxi service has anyone currently available. Needless to say I will be late for work as I have to now walk alone down the duel carriageway 30 minutes into town and wait for the next bus, whatever time that may be. Do not recommend, they really have earned their reputation for being unreliable.

My experience: On 5th October, I called Roadrunners offices to enquire if it was possible to book a large taxi for 6 people with 6 large bags to go to Gatwick North terminal. The person I originally spoke to was actually extremely helpful and double checked with his manager that this was possible so I went ahead and booked the promised large people carrier.

The day before I called to confirm the booking as there had been no text or email confirmation of my booking (which used to happen when we used Roadrunners in the past). I was reassured that despite that, all was ok and the large transportation would arrive as requested.

On the day, somewhat late, a Toyota Corolla 7 seater arrived, but it became clear that 6 people and 6 suitcases would not physically fit in the car. We could get 6 people in the car but no bags! The driver immediately realised there was a problem and called “his boss” to relay the issue and request a second car. It was decided that 4 people and all the luggage would go ahead in the Toyota leaving myself and my daughter to wait for a second car which I was told would arrive very soon, certainly no longer than 5 minutes.

The driver of the Corolla initially reassured the 4 passengers that the second car was on it way. However this clearly wasn’t the case and he later check his texts while driving to find out the second car had not been sent. The driver was texting while driving despite their suggestion to pull over and make a call. He did not seem to appreciate the urgency of the situation.

Meanwhile my daughter and I waited for a second car but it did not arrive and after 15 - 20 or so minutes called roadrunners as we were getting concerned that we may miss our flight if we didn’t leave soon. Despite several attempts there was no answer. It felt like they were aware of the situation and did not answer my mobile when my number popped up in their offices. When we could wait no longer I drove my own car to the North terminal. We parked in the short stay car park as time was now becoming critical. The North terminal long term car park is a quite a way outside and any delays in checking in then could have resulted in missing the flight.

Of course when we returned back from our holiday we contacted roadrunners on their customer services email address - all to no avail - no ackowlegement or apology let alone reimbursement for the expensive short term car park bill.

We have used road runners many times in the past but NEVER again - and it is strongly recommended that anyone reading this use an alternative taxi company. Roadrunners are simply not fit for purpose.

I have used Roadrunners occasionally over the years with no problems and have overall been very pleased with their service. However, that has all changed with my most recent experience of using them, when they were completely incapable of dealing with my request for them to pick up a friend, drive her over to an event that I was also attending, and take her back home at a certain time. I had to make 4 phone calls to check that they had got it right, and each time I was getting different people telling me different versions of what I’d requested. The first time they’d got it confused with a separate booking to get me to the same destination as my friend, the second time they’d confused the pick-up point with the destination etc. etc.
However, the most annoying aspect occurred when I tried to pay for the transaction (just under £60) on my debit card, but my card was declined. We checked the details and tried again, but with the same result. I couldn’t think why the card had been refused. I tried another card (credit) but this too was declined. I said I would need to sort out what was happening and call back to pay later.
I then realised that I was getting text messages from my bank asking me if I recognised 2 attempted payments of £1.01 that had been made by Bell Carriages on my card. It took me over an hour on the phone to get this sorted out with my bank as I didn’t recognise who ‘Bell Carriages’ was (It’s Roadrunners), but why on earth was it necessary for them to do that, and on what authority did they do it? It is widely known that any transaction for a small amount like that is a known tactic for criminals trying to use somebody else’s card fraudulently, and is almost certain to trigger alarms with banks. Why not just put the full amount through and, if it’s declined, then just let the customer know that it’s been declined?
I sent an email to the company detailing all of the above. When I didn’t get any acknowledgement after a week, I rang to go though it all with a supervisor. Re the attempted payments on my card, we had this bizarre conversation where he said that BANKS often did that to check that there was money in the customer’s account, and insisted that I check with my bank. The latter of course denied categorically that the bank had initiated those transactions (else why would they immediately texted me to ask if I recognised them?). However I couldn’t get Roadrunners to accept this.
It seemed to me that Roadrunners is a company in complete meltdown, and when I checked their reviews, I could see that I was not the only person to have had lots to complain about.

Twice I've used the App to book a trip and RR have failed to deliver and charged me in full.
Have to resort to credit card company for refund.

Booked a cab to collect us from the RAC Epsom at 10.30. No show, so called their office and twice the call rang out. Third time I was put on hold for ages and gave up. Received a call from a driver at 11.15pm saying he was on his way, by which time we had used an alternative provider.

My driver was called Atta and I had a great journey, would highly recommended. Great guy, great drive. Cheers.

Girl travelling alone on Saturday pickup. Pre-booked on Wednesday. Called on Saturday afternoon to confirm. No show. No call. Seriously, I wouldn’t consider them ever again.

Arrived at Gatwick 11pm on a Friday- Roadrunner’s won’t take advanced bookings - so I called when I got my luggage. Told 10 to 15 minutes. Several calls later and over an hour of waiting we got a cab. Diver told us he had been waiting for a job for the last 30 minutes.

We have used them a lot in the past probably £400 a year. Have always been to unreliable but now also untrustworthy- will not use again.

Roadrunners is the worst cab company ever! Very unreliable! Don’t book their Taxi's! Very bad customer service aswel! Don’t book their cabs!

Have had some past issues but Uber letting my wife down from work they have got her quickly do recommend some office staff are awful but not all but all drivers seemed nice enough they rescued my wife from her work quickly when Uber let her down even asking her not to book Uber

Avoid this company like the plague can’t be trusted booked a cab to Gatwick 3.30am at 3.25 called to confirm no reply obviously no controller or he was asleep. Couldn’t wait drove to airport to avoid missing the plane and payed additional costs for long stay parking the whole reason we were taking a cab. They advised they turned up at 3.41am what was the point we arranged 3.30 and why not turn up 5 mins early again AVOID AVOID

Terrible driver said he would arrive in 10-15 minutes, we call 30 minutes later and they say they have not even dispatched a driver! Terrible service would not recommend.

I am never using Roadrunners again just so unreliable, tells you they are two minutes away but in reality it's never coming i was 45 minuets late ended up having to get an uber. That's it i'm done this isn't the first time this has happened but it will be the last

Booked taxi a week before needed called to check the order the night before. All was ok, we confirmed it was for 6 people and double checked the price. Next morning, ten minutes before we were due to be picked up we got a call saying due to covid restrictions they were unable to offer a 6 seater. As a frontline nurse I am fully aware of covid! We are one family, there were no changes in covid restrictions between Sunday night and Monday morning! . He stated that no one had looked at the booking until that morning hence they had not notified us before. I pointed out that we had called the night before and checked the booking. He also stated that they could not send two cars either. Thanks guys. Had 4 kids here waiting to go to the farm and 5 waiting to meet us there. Nothing but liars. They were bad when I left Surrey 7 years and are no better or even worse now! I should have known better than to use road runners, I won’t be making that mistake again

Absolute shambles of a company. Driver touched a girl innopriately, rang their office and there management laughed. DO NOT USE

I have been using this company on many occasions and on many occasions it has been excellent. However, today I was very disappointed with the service. The first time I was told my taxi would be with me in 4 minutes and it then changed to a 20 minute late with a different driver. I pre booked a taxi for 3.10. My taxi didn’t arrive until 3.45! I was left standing around waiting. If I booked a taxi for 3.10 I would expect to get it at that time. There have been 2 or 3 occasions lately that I have been left waiting around. One day I was waiting in the middle of a heavy hailstorm. Having second thoughts about using Road Runners again. Disappointing!
