I had a very disappointing experience with Quote Detective.

After I took out my van insurance and paid £1,580, they made a mistake with the van’s registration number on their side. Instead of correcting their error and continuing the policy, they then refused to insure the van.

I also paid an additional £75 to change my address, yet the situation was never resolved. To make matters worse, they later cancelled the policy after the 15-day period and charged me a cancellation fee, even though the issue was caused by their own mistake.

In the end, I was only refunded £1,200, meaning I lost a significant amount of money despite not receiving the service I paid for.

The whole experience felt extremely unfair and the way the situation was handled was very disappointing and unprofessional.

I would strongly advise others to be cautious before using this company.

Very disappointing experience with Quote Detective.

My husband and I were simply comparing van insurance quotes and, as advised by other insurance companies, we tried quotes using both the address currently on his driving licence and the new address we recently moved to. This is normal when checking how premiums change after moving.

Today I received a call from a representative who immediately started accusing me of providing false information, including date of birth and address. This was completely incorrect and the tone of the conversation was very unprofessional. Instead of asking questions or clarifying the situation, she spoke in a way that felt accusatory and disrespectful.

We never provided false details. We were simply comparing quotes like any customer would do when searching for the best insurance price.

Customer service should focus on helping and clarifying, not accusing customers without understanding the situation first. This experience left a very negative impression and I expected much better professionalism.

I would strongly suggest improving how your representatives communicate with potential customers.

I just wasted a few days waiting for them and end of the day they came up saying “we are sorry we cannot do insurance for you”

Great company and very cheap insurance for private hire taxi highly recommended.

Great experience with quote detective, Becky was amazing and spent nearly the whole day helping me find the cheapest insurance price possible.Week later I changed to a private plate and the process was quick and smooth with a very reasonable Admin fee.

What can I say?!! Hasan at Quote Detective was absolutely amazing at providing me a 5* service and saving me a massive amount on my insurance I couldn't believe it!! What's even more mind blowing is Hasan actually served me 2 years ago and (saved me a lot ££ back then) I was lucky enough to speak to him again 2 years later. Hes a top bloke honestly.
