I use to donate a lot with this charity and got others involved too then I realised they took money for a well and did not build it

I paid September 2022

I got an email earlier this year 2023 saying there’s a delay

It is now September 2023 and it’s still not built. Why do I have to chase a charity to do what they promised?

Another charity was able to build the well in Bangladesh within 6 months yet I’m left waiting over a year

When I asked for a refund so I can go to this other charity they said they’ll prioritise my well but I still haven’t heard anything else about the development of this well

Feel like my money was taken and that’s that if my well gets built I’ll change and update the review but at the moment it doesn’t seem to be the case

Be very vary and careful when donating to this ‘charity’ they will take your money, don’t deliver what they promise and lie lie . A year after donating a large sum of money nothing has happened. Been trying to get a refund which is a mission in itself and no sign despite many promises. Be vary you have been warned

I was given the sales pitch and donated the money, however, didn't receive any updates on what they were said they would.
Phoned numerous times and only heard excuses and that they will get back to me.
Its been a year now and I am in the same situation.
Definitely do not recommend this charity.

Just wanted to respond to the lady who stated it is bad taste to leave a bad review for a charity. I disagree as the point of the review is so that other people don’t face the same problems as you have.

I think most people don’t want their donated money to be used for admin staff or marketing material but they do want assurance that the money they have donated is used in the way they intended, so even if you don’t get regular updates you do want to see the final update.

If Muslim Hands has stated they will provide XYZ, then they should adhere to it, otherwise don’t state it in the first place. Also the reason why some people click a button is that they want their money to go to people who really need it rather than locally who are already fairly well off. Maybe they don’t have family members who can do it for them or are in location where it is required.

Muslim hands has always been my go to, since the charity commission gave them the most reliable report. I find it really poor taste that people leave bad reviews on a charity. It seems some people want regular tailored updates. Which would require devoted admin staff - which would also require a big percentage of the donations to be paid in just admin fees! Some people are very much deluded. Surely We all want our money to go to those in need rather than admin staff who will produce glossy photo leaflets with individual updates??? Some people claim to give with good intention but then leave bad reviews because they were expecting a "product" at the end of it...This is not Sadaqa. Also if you want to see the fruits of your charity, then dont just click a button, go out in your communities and help! Also, if it's more important that someone send you photos of your "charitable" Akika being performed, get a family member to do the Akika and not a charity.

They just collect money who knows where they send .
I called this morning trying to get some help because I had accident broke my leg & I will be cicked out of my accommodation . simply said :
If u apply it needs two months to help u is better to go another organisation .
Don't give Ur money to help them raise their children

I have donated for my sons Aqiqah and still months later I have had no feedback or communication to say it has been completed. My continuous emails have gone unanswered. The least you owe the people who donate to you is basic communication.
