Exceeded my expectations
It’s not very often that I feel compelled to write a review, but I had to share my experience.
I purchased a Meaco Arete2 dehumidifier as we have just moved into a little 18th century cottage that had been empty for some year to 18 months, and I could feel the damp in the air.
I did the usual research, and ordered.
I am so impressed with just how well this unit works. I gave it the recommended 6 hours standing (as per the manual), switched it on, and the unit reported humidity at over 80% 😳.
To be fair, we did have some laundry on the airer as well.
With the aid of a desk fan to (circulate the air) the washing dried pretty quickly. At least once a day the reservoir in the dehumidifier needed emptying as was full. The unit has a ‘smart humidity control’
But decided to leave the unit on continuous, and over the next few days it filled the reservoir repeatedly. Within a couple of days the cottage transformed, condensation disappeared from the windows, the whole place felt warmer. We have had the unit for a little over a week now and after many reservoirs of water (should have used the permanent drain function really!!) the humidity is stable at around 52%. I now have the unit in ‘smart humidity control’ and the unit sleeps most of the time (waking to test humidity and then going back to sleep. In my opinion this unit is quiet, and I am quite happy to have it in the same room as me. I could happily sleep with it going in the bedroom. Noise is subjective, but dry air is dry air, so by far the lesser of the two evils in my book.
The unit is sleek, the info panel is intuitive, emptying the reservoir is easy and no mess.
It’s easy to move on its caster’s, yes it’s heavy, but then it’s powerful so again a trade off of efficiency vs ease of carrying??, I know what I’d prefer!!.
I cannot comment on longevity as only owned for a short period of time, but I’m sure that if it’s kept upright and cleaned it should give years of good service, Time will tell.
Overall I am really pleased with this unit.
Still can’t quite believe how quickly it’s transformed our home.

Absolutely amazing customer service
Absolutely amazing customer service. It was so refreshing to experience a company that goes out of their way to support the customer. Nothing was too much trouble. The whole process from the initial phone call to report our problem to the time our humidifier was repaired and returned to us took just over a week.

After experiencing 2 problems with my Meaco dehumidifier, I contacted Meaco. The first couple of emails they did take a while (around 10 days) to reply (December time). The first problem fixed itself so I didn’t need to send it off. But there was a 2nd problem which I emailed Meaco in January and I got a prompt reply (within 24 hours) and the next day after them responding to my email I was able to return it to them to be fixed. From the email sent to them returning the dehumidifier after it was fixed only took 4 days so I am happy! Thank you again

My Meaco Dehumidifier had developed a fault two years after purchasing. I called Meaco who sent me the packaging materials. I sent the dehumidifier back to them on Saturday via the elected post office pickup point. Meaco sent me a report of problem and rectifications and returned the dehumidifier duly repaired the following Wednesday! The whole process was excellent and I commend them for the rapid turn around and wonderful service.

Incredible customer service. They even sent a box for us to return our dehumidifier for repair (PCB display faulty). Will only buy from Meaco in the future.

Highly Recommended – Outstanding Product & Customer Service
I recently purchased the Meaco Arete® Two 12L Dehumidifier, and after a couple of days I had some difficulty switching it on manually. As anyone who’s bought new tech will know, it can be a little confusing at first while you’re getting used to the settings and buttons. It didn’t feel faulty — more like it needed a reset — so I contacted Meaco customer services expecting some troubleshooting guidance.
Instead, I received truly exceptional service. They immediately arranged a free return, sent prepaid postage labels, allowed me to choose a convenient drop-off point, and dispatched a brand-new replacement via next-day delivery. It arrived exactly as promised. Absolutely first-class support.
From the moment I unboxed the replacement unit, as expected the build quality was obvious. It feels solid and well-made, with a clean, premium design. The large blue and white operating icons on the top are clear and bright with the option to turn off into night mode.
A major reason I chose this model is the genuine H13 HEPA filter. As someone who suffers from severe allergies, this is incredibly important to me. I’ve researched air filtration extensively over the years, and H13 HEPA offers an excellent level of filtration.
What really surprised me, though, was how quiet this unit is. Once it reaches the desired humidity level, it runs so quietly that it’s noticeably quieter than my Blueair air purifier on its lowest setting. I no longer need to wear earplugs at night — which, for me, is a huge improvement.
The built-in Wi-Fi is another fantastic feature. I was about three miles from home when I received a notification on my phone telling me the water tank was full. Although the unit automatically shuts off when full, being able to monitor and even power it off remotely provides added peace of mind.
I purchased this dehumidifier to tackle a damp external wall, where humidity typically fluctuated between 65–72%. Within a day, it effortlessly reduced the level to 40%. It was so effective it actually dried the air a little too much for comfort, so I’ve now set it to the recommended 55% — perfect.
To sum up: excellent build quality, impressive performance, extremely quiet operation, smart technology features, and truly outstanding customer service.
100% solid. Highly recommended.

My machine was stuck in AP mode
My machine was stuck in AP mode. Called meaco they sent out a box, then collected it the next day. 4 days later it’s being returned with new parts. Really impressed with the service and very impressed with the dehumidifier. It has sorted all the mould I was getting and condensation on the windows.

Then came back said will collect it from where I wanted it collected ( so took it to work so someone was there ) collected next day ,
It came back within a few day all sorted no issues,

Amazing Service
Amazing service. I had a fault with my dehumidifier and within 7 days I had been sent a box for it to be collected in, had it collected from my house and returned to me in a working condition. The dehumidifier was over two years old but luckily I had retained my receipt and registered for the 5 year warranty. An excellent appliance and excellent customer service.

Really easy to arrange repair of my arête one. Packing box and instructions sent to me, and collection date arranged.
Repair carried out the day after collection, and my dehumidifier was returned to me the following day.
Service report also emailed to me.

Poor communication
Poor communication. I had to send the machine back twice as the first time it made the unit WORSE. But i was told the unit had been repaired. Pointless reports from engineers that either were blank or not sent at all.

Dehumidifier fixed very quickly!
Our dehumidifier stopped working. I sent a email to customer service and they replied very quickly. They asked for a video recording of the noise and the fan wasn't going around. They agreed it could be fixed under its 5 year FREE warranty.They sent a postage label to print off and I posted It Saturday 7th February and it was fixed and delivered back to us lunchtime Thursday 12th February absolutely excellent customer service, communication, fixing our dehumidifier and very happy overall with their service. Thankyou so much and we are so glad we bought from Meaco!

Refusing a Simple Spare Part & Giving Customers the Run‑Around
I’m extremely disappointed with Meaco’s handling of a simple request for a humidity/temperature sensor for my Meaco 25L Platinum — a product they are still actively selling. The part is a basic low‑voltage electronic sensor and not covered by F‑Gas regulations, yet Meaco insists on certification that has nothing to do with this component.
Instead of listening to the clear technical facts I provided, I’ve been given the run‑around with explanations that don’t match the part in question. This has made the process far more difficult than it should be.
Blocking access to a non‑regulated spare part prevents customers from carrying out a lawful repair and raises serious concerns about Meaco’s commitment to customer support and the right to repair. I expected far better from a company with such a high Trustpilot rating".Reply to meaco "Thanks for replying. Unfortunately, your response repeats a general policy rather than addressing the specific issue I raised.
I’ve already removed the back panel of the unit, and the sensor in question is right there at the front once the panel is off. It is a simple low‑voltage humidity/temperature sensor that can be unplugged and replaced in a matter of minutes. Accessing it does not require opening, disturbing, or interacting with the sealed refrigerant system in any way. reply suggests that any internal component is automatically unsafe for a customer to replace, but that isn’t accurate. Many manufacturers in the same category supply non‑refrigerant internal parts to support lawful, safe repairs. Nothing in UK consumer law prevents you from supplying a basic electronic sensor.
By refusing to provide a non‑regulated spare part that is easily accessible and safe to replace, you are preventing a legitimate repair and undermining right‑to‑repair principles. I’ve been factual and reasonable throughout, and I would still welcome a practical resolution. But your current stance leaves customers with no option but to escalate through formal consumer‑rights channels.Reply to me meaco : No Spare Parts, Contradictory Information, and No Repair Path for Customers.I bought my Meaco dehumidifier from an Approved Partner, followed every step correctly, and simply needed a replacement humidity/NTC sensor board. The unit is otherwise fully functional.
Meaco have refused to supply the part, despite the board being clearly marked DA1‑B with factory codes, and despite previously telling me it was made by Yluniras. Their latest message now claims it was “designed in‑house” and has “no OEM number”, which directly contradicts their earlier statements and the markings on the board itself.
They also sent me a link to a reclaimed second‑hand board on eBay, then later said they “cannot endorse” second‑hand parts. Another contradiction.
Meaco insist the unit must only be opened by an F‑Gas engineer, even though the sensor board is a low‑voltage component and not part of the sealed refrigeration circuit. This is not a gas‑handling repair.
Most concerning is that Meaco now admit an engineer can order the part — meaning the part does exist — but they refuse to supply it to the customer. This leaves owners with no repair pathway, even when the fault is simple and the appliance is otherwise perfectly serviceable.
For a company promoting environmental responsibility, refusing to supply a small sensor board and forcing customers to scrap repairable units is extremely disappointing. Future buyers should be aware of the difficulty in obtaining basic spare parts, even when purchasing through Meaco’s own approved channels.

Purchased a 10ltr dehumidifier to dry laundry at home. Worked great but recently stopped working. Contacted customer service and they were amazing. Sent a box to send it back for repair and had it returned days later good as new. Great customer service!

Great product and great customer service
The Arête two works brilliantly and has made a real difference to the house preventing condensation on windows and helping the house heat quicker. Clothes dry faster two.
After 15 months we got an occasional error code. I contacted Meaco and they quickly arranged a collection, changed the mother board and then sent it back to us free of charge within 6 days. Very easy and very impressive

Great dehumidifier, excellent after sales service
I am a huge fan of my Meaco DDL-8 Zambezi dehumidifier, so much so I got another one for another area. The desiccant system works really well in cool/cold conditions and adds a bit of heat to the area too which is an added bonus.
I did have an issue with mine throwing an error code and Meaco helpfully helped me troubleshoot it before confirming it needed to be sent back for repair. They organised collection, repaired and returned it to me quickly. I had purchased the extended warranty and there was absolute no issues with getting it repaired under this warranty.
What keeps me coming back to Meaco is their products are robust, well designed and perform well, but if there is an issue they are a UK company and stand behind their products and ensure that issues are taken care of without any fuss. As such I have no hesitation recommending Meaco and will continue to buy their products.

Superb service and value with Meaco…
I’ve just received my Arête One back after it required repair. Meaco handled the whole operation flawlessly and was very forgiving after I missed the first delivery window. The unit was a few years old but well with the 5-year warranty, which is still one of the best reasons to shop from Meaco. This is my third dehumidifier and I’ve found them to be excellent across the board. I highly, highly recommend buying a Meaco dehumidifier if you’re needing some help with laundry, humidity, and/or mould. A very worthwhile investment.

After experiencing issues with my Meaco dehumidifier I contacted customer service to report the fault. Initially the response from Meaco was disappointing as I did not receive one. But on sending another email I received my reply. They asked if I had the original box - No- and I was sent a replacement box. I arranged for my dehumidifier to be collected - which it was last week and has been returned to me today fixed and working. No stress no hassle
